First timer here. I binge-watched the whole season Kemurikusa because I had to miss the friendanon stream earlier. Definitely lots of headscratchers, but eh, I guess it revealed enough what it needed to reveal for the story to wrap up, but I'm pretty curious about everything else that WASN'T explained, but they were secondary info, I suppose. The episodes started off pretty well directed, every turn an exposition without being seemingly forced or out of place. I both appreciate, yet question the decision to jump locations and imply harrowing fights between the later episodes, but it was for the sake of condensing minor details, I guess. Don't have much love for how everything was somewhat hastily solved in Ep12, but it wasn't THAT bad.
Whatever, the whole thing was alright, had its cute moments, Ritsu a cute, Rinas are cute, Rin was 'aight. What the fuck was this unexplained coming back from the dead shit?

All the Kemurikusa produce smoke, which I think is why it's called Kemurikusa, and the Robots receive orders from that smoke, though they prefer the orders from whatever Color Wakaba normally uses.
The Red Kem' was created from combining different colors together, so it's likely that the reason the Blue smoke effects mushis in the same way as the red is because that's where the red got that ability from in the first place.

Riri coming back could be due to a few different things but they all seem to end in Midori healing her, whether it's accidentally picking up her dying body or copying her corpse. Old Wakaba coming back in 12.1 is because of some sort of backup system on the ship that likely exists to prevent one man trips from being stopped due to accidents, while new Wakaba is because Midori grew from his corpse, so it likely absorbed his body and was eventually able to reconstruct it over time, producing him like a fruit similar to how the original Kemurikusa's ending shows Wakaba
Wakaba is implied not to be from the Earth while the sisters were made from a human but probably don't count as human anymore.

The sisters are made of Kemurikusa, Wakaba is an ayy clone but born from midori, Riri is an human clone and I'm not very sure how she was born exactly but it seems to be implied the conditions were the same as episode 1 as water and a kemurikusa tree should be involved in the process.
If you look closely at Wakaba's shirt and Midori roots that Ritsu uses you'll see they have the same pattern, just a nice detail

Blue smoke is the administration kemurikusa used by Wakaba cientifico to give specific orders to the robots, without a captain to give them orders it just becomes a mind controlling smoke that robs the robots of their freedom. Not their preferred procedure since they find their lives in following orders after all.
The true counter to Akairo was Midori, since Akairo is a kemurikusa created to destroy other Kemurikusa and Midori is a kemurikusa that's used to fix kemurikusa.

So to Further Compound the idea that Riku is a clumsy idiot, I noticed something about the ED I hadn't seen before.
The background starts spinning just before ryoku dies,
then it stops spinning after the first Rina Dies,
Then Riku and Rinako die,
Then it starts spinning again when Wakaba shows up
So I think the spinning of the background represents if they're traveling or not, but more importantly, I think that means Riku didn't die until after they went back to Island one.

To the user that did the audio commentaries and video extras rip of the first Blu-ray volume, I would like to ask the question of how they handled the bitrates and codecs on the Blu-ray, for example, it is pretty common to see late night animes getting Blu-rays with an average video bitrate over 36 Mbps and some hitting pretty close to 40 Mbps, but for whatever reason on Kemono Friends the average video bitrate was only 30 Mbps
If you got curious and want to know the bitrate, then you can do it analyzing with MediaInfo the M2TS file of the episodes.

Since Wakaba goes fucking around right after seeing Rin sleeping and being posioned that would mean Riku/memory leaf took over the body after Wakaba wasn't there anymore, she only stops attacking Wakaba when she sees that he has Midori leaves and sees that he knows Ritsu.
Ryoku as well don't know about Wakaba since she was only watching when they were fighting Nushi on episode 4.

Each of the sisters covers a sense except for Rin, who likely represents the body instead. This would explain her ability to take leaves that were supposed to die, like the sisters and the memory leaf. Because of this they were able to manifest, whether they took over her body when she had her guard lowered or were able to use some aspect of her leaf to appear is unclear. It's entirely possible they were using some aspect of her leaf though, as the kemurikusa of the sisters seem to show additional functions like how Riri was capable of using the sight one which likely later becomes Ryoku in order to see what happened to Wakaba. My best guess is that they did that stuff at night so they could investigate without encountering the living sisters to avoid hurting them or making them act reckless.
In the end it's a combination of the memory leaf and possibly Rin's leaf that allowed for them to continue living, and they probably avoided the train and never really checked up on the living sisters to avoid trouble and confusion

Well, to be fair I did not find something out of the normal on the video quality when watching the intact M2TS files on my rewatch of KF1, so it seems the Yaoyorozu works do not need an overkill on video bitrate like you could expect on the glorious Japanese Blu-ray of Evangelion 3.33, it seems they prefer to simple have a pretty dynamic video bitrate.
I have downloaded the first Blu-ray of Just Because with the first two episodes and they have got the same as Kemurikusa, that is, one track of LPCM audio with 2.0 channels and 24 bits/48 Khz and two tracks of LPCM audio with 2.0 channels and 16 bits/48 Khz each one and both episodes have an average video bitrate of 38 Mbps, all of this packed nicely on 7.51 GiB for each episode.
So yeah, they could have put 7.5 GiB per episode and they could still have room on a BD50 for half an hour of video extras like they did on the first volume.
But well, I am not complaining, I was satisfied with the video quality of the BDs of KF1.
