Being edgy and grimdark was one of the good points of Berserk and why people liked it. The problem is that Miura just stopped giving a shit and realized that he was never going to find a good way for Guts to defeat Griffith, so he just made useless content. The art is also getting digital now. On the other hand, you have a guy like Togashi who still loves HxH and he keeps making it better to please his fans.
