Anything you can make transparent, you can easily black as well.
In theory, it is easier to make it black since that means it has to look good only against a single background (black). But that theory assumes that the person working on the image tries to make it look good against any background.
I assume OP is already working on your image, so I will refrain.

I'm trying to recall the title of a manga, probably one shot.
IIRC (I might be wrong), the premise is that there's an alternate world with reversed gender MC in there, they were interacting but end up being separated at the end, and the final pages has both of them sitting on a bench in their respective world with their hand stretched to the sides.
If you see the page front and back page together with transparency, they will end up like pic related.
