I gasped when I saw this, holy shit. That's amazing! I'm surprised you went to all this effort, it looks like something you'd commission. God, he looks so real, though. It's the perfect level of realism without going into the uncanny valley.
Really helps me picture how he'd look in the real world. I love that he's in a different outfit for once, too, and he's got the black sunglasses from the manga. He's so handsome.
The lighting and values are phenomenal, it really does look like he's sitting under the lights at some dingy mahjong parlor. I think leaving the background black amplifies that, actually. When you're sucked into underground mahjong and the guy across from you just riichi'd four turns in, it sure feels like the world ends right at the table. To pinpoint a favorite part, the way the light hits his forehead, and the deep shadowing on the underside of his hand, are fucking perfect. The hand is even brighter on top than the face, like it's closer to the center of the overhead light. I just love the level of thought put into it.
Not sure if it's intentional, but the manzu group in the full pic is going 1-8-2.

While it's still a very long way off, last time also made it clear to me that I really do need to commission this several months in advance to give the artist ample time to finish it.

I hope you can enjoy drawing one day, I have a shitload of motivation issues myself so I know the feeling even down to the money part, it all really sucks.

Having been drawing since I was old enough to hold a pencil in kindergarten, telling me to quit drawing would be like telling me to quit breathing. It stresses me out, and when I consciously set out to draw I usually don't have the best time, but I can't imagine never doing it again. But I'm aiming to attend an art school next year, so I'll start doing my best.

I'm the same way. I kept drifting back to it even when I tried to quit. Now it's a little more enjoyable, like solving a puzzle.

Higher education is free in my country, so no issue there. I've thought it over multiple times, but there's nothing else I particularly want. I've decided to just do what I want.

Hnnnnnnnnnnnngg, you can't imagine how many times I have thought in scenarios like this with her and my favorite part of this delivery is that you drawn the exact look that I have imagined she would give me in those scenarios.
You really did her justice, especially highlighting the traits that I love more of her and the expression in general is exactly the one that she would do, but well you already know it since it's your speciality or at leats that's what I think.
For a moment I thought that she was wearing an engagement ring and almost died of happiness for thinking that a detail like that being included in this already awesome delivery, but after a couple minutes I realized that it was her hair twirled in her finger. In the end that's ok because I will imagine that it's actually a ring everytime that I see this and nobody can stop me.

Your style in digital really has developed a life of it's own, it's so shiny but soft. I really like how you did his eyes in particular, the shape, the little eyelashes on the bottom, and specially the dark eyelids that give them a lot of emphasis.
