I started Hibike expecting to eventually drop it due to not being all that interested, but ended up staying and even really enjoying it, mostly due to Kumiko. The way her cynicism clashes with her desire to be kind/likeable was really refreshing and it all flows so well. I also love the OVA from Hazuki's perspective because it shows a side of Kumiko that some might have missed, even though it was always there. She's still a dork as always, but also somewhat distant, especially when it comes to more serious topics. It's only a short scene, but I really like it because it hints at why someone like Asuka or Reina would be interested in her. You can tell Kumiko is someone who holds back her true more cynical self.
