After a reread, I think the period between election and the sports festival is the worst part of the manga. It feels weirdly directionless, even compared to the other cooldown periods after fireworks and sports festival. Probably due to Miko.
With the Iceguya stuff it clearly feels like Aka is planning ahead, even more so than usual (the countdowns making it very clear how close we are to the resolution and not cutting away regularly to Ishigami's plotline like he would have normally already done with a bigger arc like this).
Though, while I don't like the parts where Prez and Kaguya avoid each other cause of that kiss bait chapter, it ultimately gave us the routine, so I guess it was worth it.

That's not really the impression I got personally, right now (before this chapter) she seemed too absorbed in her own problems to even think about how she was making Shirogane feel. Whatever the cause, up until this last page, (unless you count calculating how best to enchant him with her perfume) Ice Kaguya hasn't spared a thought for Shirogane's thoughts or feelings. Shirogane's been going crazy trying to figure out hers (with Maki just imploring him to try harder,) but the last person to try to suggest anything about Shirogane's perspective to Kaguya was Hayasaka telling her that he must think she's a slattern.

It can be both, her lack of empathy in the Ice demeanor can be leading her to be self-absorbed regarding her end of the relationship dilemma.

I think Kaguya, in her post-Ice sobered-up state, is going to suffer a tidal wave of self-loathing when it's going to be brought up again that she said that the cultural festival kiss meant nothing to her, when in fact it did mean everything to her.

Ice is Kaguya silly. Go re-read the chapters. She is adopting this attitude because she is scared of all the shit she accepted to do with Shirogane, hell, the very first mind trial chapter showed that they're all just representations of extreme sides of herself. They're made visible like that so the reader can know what her current state of mind is, much like with Kaguya-chan.
She's not going away until she stops trying to use that personality of hers to hide away from her insecurities.

Execution is fine. Kaguya isn't really doing anything she hasn't done before. She has badmouthed Fujiwara and even made her cry before. She has been physical with Shirogane before, almost choked Ishigami without thinking it. Not to mention she has said many times how her being nice and approachable is a conscious effort on her part.
This arc is just Kaguya who got tired of Shirogane's shit and is being aggressive now, in the only way she knows how, also considering that he is still trying to make her confess despite there being a time limit would put anyone on their nerves.

We've been on Ice's ride for a month

Now that the dust has settled. What do you think about the current arc?

Easily my least favorite of the series. Getting this after the high that was the festival arc just makes it feel worse. I'm confident Aka will make up for it with the Christmas chapter, but he's really testing my patience

It'll all be worth it if we get some pure selflessness out of Kaguya because of this. If she suddenly gets her priorities straight and her heart un-twisted and realizes how love should work. That what she cares about most is (should be) not his kisses or his hugs or his "even further" or his opinion of her, but him, for his own sake. "What have I done? He must hate me now!" isn't it: "What have I done? Is he okay?" is much better.

But here I go giving myself specific things to hope for that are almost certainly going to miss the mark so I should probably forget I said it.
