i do wonder if there's more room for kira/josefumi flashbacks but things seem pretty complete there. there are elements of josefumi's past that need explaining though, like how he's a joestar.

Since Kira hanged around hospital a lot, he probably had an interaction with the doctor at some point and saw his true form, so that's why he has a leftover memory.

His backstory already implies that he likes to lie about his identity inferring that Diavolo already had paranoid tendencies even back then, but the discovery of his mother being held captive is the shock that caused him to go berserk and double down even further in his paranoid tendencies. The fact that Doppio and Diavolo already match two parts of this backstory (having a frontal identity and having a hidden violent side) only goes to show that his personality just fragmented even further after the trauma.

I have a theory that Doppio developed schizophrenia first, believed some old legend from his town was about him (the backstory), his Diavolo persona started to take over, then impersonated Naso and thus became the Boss and the unlikely drug trade or halted payment to his associates took place.

Because it's funny that Anasui is so socially deficient. And Jolyne is mostly just too preoccupied to notice his obsession, she never seems annoyed at it so much as just confused and busy with the actual plot happenings. The juxtaposition of everyone else in the cast being on point trying to stop the end of the world while this one fucko is busy pining is fun. Oh and his interactions with Jotaro are entertaining. Jolyne is shown to be pretty retarded with relationships herself (see: how she ended up in jail) so it's cute to think that someone is loyal to her. And that someone is a murderer.

I also just like the way it contrasts the other canon pairs. Notably, Jonathan x Erina. Just how much shit happened that the canon pair in part 1 can be so different to the one in part 6, I find it funny.

How the fuck did Diavolo manage to kill Narancia (inside Giorno) without the crew noticing? After they shoot Doppio (Inside Bruno), Narancia remarks that they all hit and that is the last time we see him alive. Afterwards Trish and Mista squabble about bullets and time is erased. It is here during these events that Narancia is killed by getting impaled on metal bars 2-4 meters above the ground.

King Crimson would have to break the bars, lift Narancia up and impale him on the bars without anybody hearing it. THEY EVEN FUCKING REMARK THAT THEY WOULD HAVE HEARD THE BULLETS DROPPED, SO TIME MUST HAVE BEEN SKIPPED. How the fuck does he end up killing him? If Diavolo could just kill during stopped time, then wouldn't he have done so against Bruno's Crew a long time ago? Why the fuck now? His power doesn't allow him to fuck with people during erased time, except himself.

There's no correct answer. King Crimson is inconsistent, which is the source of most confusion.
That's why it annoys me when people try to explain it by editing 10 seconds out of a video or by pointing to that one episode of Futurama.
Neither of those explanations cover whether or not Diavolo can affect or be affected by things in the erased time. We see Diavolo dodge Bruno's punch, implying he's not invincible, but later Narancia's bullets go right through him. He can cut off Trish's hand and put Narancia on the spikes, but he doesn't just kill everyone else when time skips. At one point, he looks into the future and sees himself defeating Giorno, which means he can use Epitaph to predict his own actions, which makes absolutely no sense because he's supposed to be able to move outside of fate. And how the fuck did that one guy get into the sewer grate?
The only explanation is that it just works.
