most people know only the ending where he rejects his daughter and Haru. It ends with him walking away from them because otherwise his daughter could get associated with a convicted murder.
In the true ending he is able to to accept himself and to leave his past behind. He accepts his daughter and they become a real family.

You probably have the steam version. In the original version people would mostly get an ending with him telling them to fuck off and to stay away from a convicted murder, him. True ending was hidden by some rather questionable decisions. The steam version changed that.
