You cannot fall in love with a fictional character. To be in love is to selfless strive for the best for another person -- fictional beings cannot have a 'best' state of being. Likewise, if Socrates' supposition is right, and to love a thing is to be desirous of that which you may possess , then desiring that which by definition can never be real is foolish and contemptible.
