Why do people shit on Jojo for being “gay”?

Serious question from a normie. Aside from some anime weirdness, not a single main character does anything explicitly gay nor are the themes of pretty blatant heterosexual masculinity not overtly clear. Jojo is pretty damn manly even in its later parts, and there are great themes of camaraderie, bonding, fighting, etc. that are pretty standard in such stories. People say Jonathan and Gyro are “gay” but really all it is is a deep platonic bond, same with Joseph and Cesar.

Also the story couldn’t exist if the main characters were gay because its all about a family line from one generation to another.

Jonathan loved Erina.

Joseph was a notorious womanizer and pervert, enough to have bastard son.

Jotaro had a daughter who was a main character in a later part and is basically a classic stoic archetype.

Josuke and Giorno are young enough that love interests don’t matter.

Jonathan married Rina and had children.

Gappy is straight to my knowledge.

Why is it, then, that people act like Jojo is anything other than what it is? Just a hyperly masculine shonen series with some BIZZARE anime weirdness at times? Are people that afraid of themes of male bonding, Arakis interest on statue esque physique, etc?

Or is this all just a huge meme to rile up hardcore fanboys like myself?

Genuinely curious.

It looks fucking gay and and people use being gay/bi as a goddamn personality accessory in the current year so that's the vibe I get.

the fashion, poses and the fact that more than 1/2 the cast is male.

Personally I fucking love jojo, but its pretty gay and thats perfectly fine. I think that they shit on it for being gay because people are used to anime and manga not being so fashion forward, and having such exaggerated personalities. Anyways part 8 kira is god.

Same people who compare it to Fist of the North Star. Completely superficial reasons.

>Fashion and poses

But its literally just Arakis style. There is nothing concretely gay happening.

Its as petulant as saying “Brazillian jiu jitsu is gay because of the way it looks”

Childish yikes

Yeah that pretty much sums it up

>Its gay
>Posts a Jojo with an explicit femal love interest

This is my entire point though, Gappy is straight sexually. Where is the gay

>only watch anime to self-insert as cute girls doing cute things
why would i watch anime with big V shaped strapping dudes wearing gay ass fashion that's fucking gay

The posing, over exaggerated characters and personalities. Sorbet and gelato, titziano and squalo (Ik im kinda cherry picking here sorry). How fashion forward araki is. Shit like that. I guess its not gay more just flamboyant. Although the gay couples i mentioned are 100% gay

Any male who uses the term "fashion forward" unironically works as a hairdresser and drives a miata.

Yeah but those are not only side characters, they’re basically “literally who’s” in the grand scheme of Jojo as a whole.

Having gay side characters is pretty common. My question is more, why do the blatantly straight aspects get completely ignored?

Why cant something be positively masculine without being memed?

The takeaway seems to be that if you’re goodlooking, masculine and fashion forward its somehow a bad thing. It makes literally zero sense

He's wearing a fucking sailor suit.

>Where is the gay
Here

>Why cant something be positively masculine without being memed?
Japan treats the western manly man archetype as exotic and 2gay4u, which is why all their gay porn features burly dudes.

People that confuse /fa/ with /gay/

>The takeaway seems to be that if you’re goodlooking, masculine and fashion forward its somehow a bad thing. It makes literally zero sense
You are the one taking it as a bad thing. Jojo's designs and art are homoerotic, that not an opinion, is objective fact. People still enjoy them.

>People see that as gay
>I just see it as a non sexual expression of masculinity and inspiration to lift weights and better myself

Actually, I maybe have found the answer I was looking for after all

I'm someone who has contemplated watching JoJo however has never been able to bring myself to do it because of the character designs. Pretty much every character design looks like a gay man drag queen or has overtly gay poses. It looks fruity as fuck to be honest. Despite all the recommendations I just can't bring myself to do it because of this.

>Serious question from a normie.
Demand of this "normie" why he thinks there's something wrong with being gay.

>normie
Stopped reading right there. Kill your fucking self.

>Actually, I maybe have found the answer I was looking for after all
Coming out of the closet bro?

I'm just amazed that there is supposedly this huge fan base for an anime that looks like this and a lot of it is apparently straight males. It's like, there must be something good or appealing about the anime to these guys so I want to give it a try. Then I look at it and can't bring myself to watch it. I keep thinking like is this a Boku no Pico like joke or is it women and gay/bi guys trying to trick me? It's so weird.

Because it's for gays? Fujojo is basically hot guys doing fun things.

People are really used to seeing straight things so when they see gayish or flamboyant things it leaves a greater impact in their mind, or so i think

Homoerotic is gay though.

Quite the opposite actually. I think the main takeaway from Jojo is that there is literally nothing wrong with overt masculinity. I think people who dont see it for what it is never will.

Bonding, fighting for whats right, being in good physical shape, fashion being tertiary rather than definitive.

Look at how afraid this user is

I lack this fear completely because I dont see sexuality in the posing/fashion/whatever. I just say “hm this is a great story about male themes and I want to better myself because of it by lifting weights and being /fa/“

This thread was helpful

Jojo is fucking amazing you should really watch it

>Actually, I maybe have found the answer I was looking for after all
I'm glad you figured yourself out

>Then I look at it and can't bring myself to watch it.
Sounds like you aren't comfortable enough with your heterosexuality to trust yourself to not pop stiffies at skinny, fashionable boys
Your loss, fagtron

>normie
>double spacing
OP is a faggot as always, get out of Yea Forums.

Only two guys I know who watch JoJo before the memes were fags. One was even a furry.

fuck i got it confused with another term, time to delete my post

YOU GOT AND ISSUE?

Fuck, an is what i meant

If a man wheres a sailor suit but fucks girls, hes just a straight guy in a sailor suit

Looking deeper into it says more about you then the character friend

other than it:s a mental defect? nothing

JoJo is almost completely asexual aside from some forced fanservice. The "gay" or "straight" shit is actually all aesthetics and posing, in the story there is almost no sexuality or even romance.

No one is capable of calling Jojo gay after reading Jojolion.

That's not Gappy, that's Kira
But you're right

Kira is a fucking ship doctor
Josuke literally doesn't have any other clothes

Read Jojolion my nigga

It's really because the character designs take a while to get used to.
The ultra-violence alone destroys that notion. I think a lot of it has to do with fujoshis reading way too much into various things Araki didn't give a second thought about.

JoJolion falls under the forced fanservice category and has more straight shit than all other parts combined. It's an exception, not a representative example of how sexual JoJo usually is.

Use this dagger to kill yourself.

Araki style is gay

It's fanservice when it shows naked women for no reason. Also I'm not claiming that JoJo is gay (aside from some shit in part 5 anime adaptation), I'm saying that it's mostly asexual.

But there was a reason
