You remember wrong big time, Brave Witches anime was also announced two full years before it actually aired and its PV was shown one year before its TV airing date. This franchise has for some reason really early announcements before they actually come out.
Which is weird in comparison to any other shows or series in general but that's how Kusokawa handles this.
There are some exceptions that take long time to make, like Drifters originally and Symphogear's upcoming seasons.

I'm content with current sol as is while I also criticize things heavily and absolutely loathe Kusokawa as a company but there also comes a point at for how long can one accept things, Star Wars is pretty good example of a series that never should've had gone for more than the three first episodes.

Alternative ww2 with comedy, action and ecchi bundled in one with character driven focus where you're bound to find your favorite and like em all in general.

The artstyle and animation just added to the goofiness of the whole affair, which for a comedy 4koma short isn't a bad thing. Sure Aiura-tier animation would be great but for what it is I thought this was fine and it had me laughing at several points which is more than I had expected.

Nope, other than next year. Actual dates are somewhat usually clarified two seasons prior to actual airing if you follow anime shows in general.
