Based Touma beating the shit outta Kensuke
Ao no Flag
Wait for me user, gonna read it.
He deserved it. Why did Mami interfere? That was reckless.
I am glad this isn't being dragged, Taichi going to talk with Baldy and Fish eyes promise some crisis anyway. Also, translation when?
She didn't deserve it. What I don't get is why the other guy also punched Touma, that was unfair.
The other guy punched touma because he was twisting the girls words to justify pushing her.
>She didn't deserve it.
Never said she did, doesn't make it any less reckless.
Based Touma BTFOing everyone
How convenient it is to be treated like a girl only when it's convenient though.
Make a damn choice.
Fuck of with that shit.
She isnt a sport girl that want to compete with mens because she consider herself as an equal, she just want to have Male friends and not be considered a fucking slut
Retard
>Shingo doesn't do anything while Kensuke and Touma fight
>only joins when Mami gets shoved
Weak shit. I do think Touma was in the wrong for getting Mami involved but Shingo didn't need to attack Touma over it.
Like I get where Mami was coming from trying to stop Touma but he needed to set Kensuke straight. Plus all this whole situation is leading to Touma letting out all this shit he's been suppressing this whole time.
Masumi literally shitted on the metoo movement.
Pretty much this. Also, is not like he attached her with his all force, it was a pushing. If she wasn't a girl that would have been dismissed, but because she is a girl This happened. Double standards for everything. In general terms, fighting is wrong, but most people are making a ruckus because in this case fighting is even more wrong because A GIRL was pushed. Is stupid.
Finally read it and he didn't twist it. They are in a fight and he asked her for not to touch him, she didn't stopped and then he pushed her. He didn't attack her, he didn't went after her, he just use force to stop her from interfering in his fight with baldy.
What did Kensuke mean? I feel like something was lost here. It almost read like he's gay for Touma even though clearly that's not the case.
The only thing I can imagine is that he's mad mami wants a gay guy over him?
Maybe Touma should ask this question without assaulting the guy for no reason.
Drama bitch.
I'm assuming its a translation issue.
I didn't understand either but I feel he was mad because Touma had all the chances to get Mami but "disrespected" her at rejecting her for another guy, wasting her time, his time, and their feelings.
Kensuke assaulted him first and started jelling him like he owned something to him or Mami. He reacted as if Touma being gay was an insult.
>It almost read like he's gay for Touma
No clue how you got that impression. I think Kensuke's mostly angry that Touma is gay and that he doesn't want Mami even though she's in love with him.
It was like "man, why you need to be gay! Don't you realize you can have everything I want?! Just stop being gay and let me live through you!
So, who spread the rumors?
He just ignorant.
>Baldy thinking he can win in a fight against /ourboy/
My fucking sides
I'm a girl. If I whine about being treated like a girl, I'm not going to cry when I get pushed during a fight. That's stupid.
Stop with the double standard. Mami is the type of girl who wants all the priveledges that comes with it but none of the negative aspects. Would people cry for a guy being pushed after recklessly intervening in a fight?
She didn't deserve it, but the "she's a girl, you can't do that" excuse is BS.
Had she been a boy, she wouldn't deserve it either, no difference.
Agree
>/ourguy/ actually beat the shit out of two guys and a girl
He is really /ourguy/
When is Taichi gonna stop being such an apathetic bitch?
I imagine that's not gonna be an actual plotpoint. Probably just someone who was nearby, maybe one of the makeup club students.
Cringe
Based af. What a Chad.
Kensuke is mad because he likes Mami and only came terms with the fact that she didn't like him back because she liked Touma and Touma is his friends. So hearing Touma comming out feels like a betrayal because it means Mami rejected him for nothing.
Basically, Kensuke likes playing the victim.
You are a girl and a retard who can't read and compreend a manga, just like other man so don't feel bad about it.
Well fuck you too.
Taichi isn't being a bitch, he is legally confused. I can't blame him, he is even have the balls to go to school, and even go and talk to Kensuke and the other guy.
Damn do I feel bad for Mami, no matter what people around her end up fighting like it's her fault. The whole girl this boy that was bullshit indeed but actually twisting her words was unfair, literally a faggot
>Basedma BTFOs two white knights at the same time and breaks the gender barrier for the good of all women
What a Chad. My twink hole is his.
How is it wrong? See, blond guy reacted only when Mami was pushed while Kensuke was shitting his guts out. Also, Mami isn't a special needs person, neither a sick person, she is a teenager who was in the middle of a fight. The thing is why Kensuke and Touma fighting is see as normalized while pushing a girl is somehow a crime? Again, she doesn't have glass bones or something,
>Taichi still passively ignoring everything
I guess it is relatable but man what a spineless bitch, he doesn't deserve anything
hero arc when
Don't forget Masumi shitting on the white knights too.
I can't read a manga because I'm pointing out double standards?
I know that Mami doesn't want to be treated like a girl only when it comes to relationships, but that's dumb. And Kensuke's attitude is dumb too. Mami being pushed isn't worse because she's a girl, it would have been just as uncalled-for (but predictable had she been a guy).
You can't just ask people to treat you differently only when it's convenient to you anyway, that's not how things work.
>My twink hole is his
You proud of yourself for typing up that drivel faggot? Your father would be ashamed if he read this crap so do yourself a favor and delete this post. Sick shit.
Regarding the chapter, seeing Touma beat the shit out of Kensuke was nice.
>relatable
Extremely. Tbh since it's just high school shit, letting everything pass and for things to calm down is the wisest choice imo.
You know, Touma was telling that to himself too, he is mad at everything because he is hiding a big part of him that implies breaking the sacred rules of society at being gay. That's why the being a girl, being boy this pissed him as much as the "boys shouldn't punch girls", which is stupid. It was ok that Kensuke attacked him because he is a guy and tall and broad then? And, I am pretty sure Touma feels bad for pushing her, bu he doesn't regret getting feed of the double standard.
My twink holes are his
Okay, from what I've figured, Kensuke was more or less '' fine '' with losing to Touma when it comes to Mami's affections. Not exactly sure why he had such a violent and aggressive outburst after hearing Touma isn't interested in Mami, but I'm guessing that he is mad Touma wasted everyone's time and stringed people, mostly Mami along. Maybe Kensuke is also afraid that Mami won't accept him even after her coming into terms with her crush being unavailable, while previously he could pretend that the only reason Mami and Kensuke won't be lovers, is because Mami already having someone she likes. And maybe he is just a homophobe.
Mami, on the other hand, is having a tough time with men fighting because of her, BECAUSE she is a girl. I'm guessing that's why she is down in the dumps.
Not exactly sure what Kensuke and Shingo are planning, especially Shingo. I don't think anything goes inside Kensuke's head, he is an idiot, but Shingo is more complex than that.
I do wonder why Shingo didn't stop Kensuke's and Touma's fight. I guess he thought that Touma will rightfully(?) beat up Kensuke and that he deserves it. Maybe.
Is this manga worth reading? I read this thread and found out that Tachi is the main character but he looks like a boring more generic Souma.
Taichi must be blushing and smiling over Touma take his own hands to deal with no bullshit from anyone.
I'd suck his dick
It's stuff involving his best friend. It seems he is being apathetic about it all because he doesn't want people to think he's gay for Touma back.
He should man up and see what he could do to resolve the situation if his friendship with Touma means anything
>more generic souma
Souma is way more shit though. Anyway the manga is interesting enough though it gets really preachy and tries too hard to come off as the 'intellectual above it all' series. Really depends of how much you're into drama.
>ywn be abused by Touma
Lucky baldy
In a sense Taich is more of a supporting protagonist, Touma, his friend, is probably the real main characrer since the story's biggest plotline revolves around him. Taichi does get plenty of focus though.
I recommend it, though it's biggest flaw is that it moves pretty slowly. It should be fine to read in bulk, but reading month to month is pretty slow.
Also, when will Futaba do something else than just be timid and go :o :O :o :c :o
I really need her to have some kind of opinion about all this already, goddamn.
>the two worst boys AND worst girl all got their shit slapped
it was a good day
I've been rereading the manga. She was more active and likeable in the first chapters.
>It seems he is being apathetic about it all because he doesn't want people to think he's gay for Touma
Yeah you're right, that actually rubbed me the wrong way. But I don't know, beyond having a talk with you Touma I fail to see what else he could really do that would be much better.
I think Shingo somehow "betrayed" himself when he punched Touma after he pushed Mami. That stated what Mami feared, how guys try to white-knight her all the time, even unconsciously.
Kensuke, it seems a simple case actually. He was fine "losing" against the "better guy", like he was even honored at knowing Mami was in love with Touma, who is "similar to him", and then it comes to the confession, and he just loses for the reasons you stated: Touma never behaved in the best way with Mami (compared with other guys), and then he rejects her (the most amazing person according to Kensuke) for a taboo (guy) person who also can't be at the same level of Mami.
>worst boys
Kensuke and Shingo?
Shingo isn't thag bad.
Cool. Is I know Touma is likable and a bro but is Tachis likable at all?
You fags and girls are dumb or something? I don't know why trying to treat Shingo and Kensuke actions as Mami action, she asked for Shingo to stop the fight, he didn't do it then she tried to stop, she got pushed, did she whine, did she cry in any moment during this? No, then why the fuck all this bullshit about she not wanting equality or bla bla bla Touma is 100% wrong here twisting her words just to justify his action because she didn't say anything or was mad about him pushing her only the white knights got mad about it, so there is no reason to pick on her.
Because Mami is Shingo's best friend and he probably loves her too.
Futaba is a shy introverted person, how can you expect her to go and do anything? She is pretty in character right now. She needs to meditate a lot in order of take an action.
Reminder that Touma raping Taichi while Futaba watches is endgame
You mean being not constantly being treated as a romantic object/relationship material and as a friend is "getting privilege"? Because in that case i pity your life
I think he's cool. He's a dork deep down.
Btw, the first 5 chapters or so are kinda melodramatic. After that, it cools down and finds its groove more
What do you expect her to say in this situation?
>Touma gets hurt again because of Taichi
not really but I guess that's what Taichi is thinking right now, and that's what pushed him to hear Shingo and Kensuke out.
Touma is an unlikeable douche. He can go fuck off.
Me
Read again the discussion because is not about Mami being entitled but some readers reacting like the pathetic people Masumi was shitting on in this chapter.
I don't know what is so hard for people to get here. Is this concept so strange to Yea Forums? "Ha ha she doesn't want to date her male friends stupid feminist cunt you asked for getting beaten". Touma said a very retarded thing
Literally the only thing he did wrong was not ever explicitly rejecting Mami.
Gotta say I agree desu and I'd probably react the same as shingo if someone pushed taichi considering he's a soft manlet.
He didn't. If he feels bad later it should be because he pushed a friend and could hurt said friend, not because he PUSHED A GIRL OMG, like some people is trying to portray this, starting with Kensuke.
>Touma is 100% wrong here twisting her words just to justify his action
This. I love Touma but he lashed out and took his anger out on Mami who had nothing to do with the fight.
He was doing it but Kensuke ruined everything.
He did twist it, Mami's whole thing about being sick about boy stuff and girl stuff is about unfair standards when it comes to platonic and romantic relationships with both opposite and same sex which has made her social life hell on occasion. Touma knowingly twisted it into "boys and girls should be the same, therefore fuck off with this whiteknight shit being upset that I pushed you".
Mami wasn't even show saying anything or whining. The ones who turned this into a drama were Shingo, Kensuke and Touma. Literally three drama queens.
>You mean being not constantly being treated as a romantic object/relationship material and as a friend is "getting privilege"?
No. Read a again.
Being treated like a romantic objet all the time would be a negative aspect.
Being white-knighted and not getting punched in a situation were a guy would be, is a privilege.
Would Kensuke and Shingo be mad about Mami being pushed after intervening in the fight, had she been a boy? Probably not. Why? It's not like it would have been less uncalled-for. It's not like it's okay to push people if they're guys.
He should feel bad for ignoring what she actually meant and twisting her words in order to find excuse
He admittingly dragged it out for a long time. And he could have done it in a way that didn't involve admitting he's gay.
He was clearly in a bad place when he said it though.
Wonder what he's doing currently. Do his brother and SiL know now?
I liked how different was Touma during the fight, he was really mad and that's a new thing about him. Everybody saw him like the gentle giant, even Mami, and suddenly he was just losing it.
Mans and Fags, the worse in the world.
What was Touma supposed to do in this situation, though? She was grabbing his arm, and Touma told her to let go, and she didn't. He pushed her away, he didn't attack her, she was grabbing his arm, touching him, getting in the way, and he pushed her away, so what?
That's not what's being said but if it fits your narrative...
He probably does because what he said was in the heat of the moment and most likely was bothered by Kensuke's reaction than about Mami's way of thinking. Also, I feel Touma got really angry when he felt Kensuke was mad and disgusted for him being gay.
He should apologise for hurting a friend.
Mami isn't his friend. He finds Mami annoying.
He was absolutely wrong but to be fair people aren't in a normal mental state during a fight. It's pretty common for someone trying to break up a fight to get hit as well. Emotional outbursts often don't make sense.
I was expecting Shingo to try to break up the fight and that's how he got hit but turns out he's even more based than I originally thought and was going to let them settle it on their own until Mami got slapped/pushed away.
This.
People don't realise how ironic it is when Mami doesn't want her gender to affect her relationship yet Kensuke and Shingo get mad at Touma especially BECAUSE she's a girl. They wouldn't act like this if she were a boy, even if she was still their friend.
>and not getting punched in a situation were a guy would be
Holy shit sis you have brain damage or something?
Stop with the malabarism, no guy would be punched in this situation, there is no privilege in being punched for trying to separate a fight.
Then why he act surprise after this uh?
Andd he is supposed to stop fighting.
The only privileg Mami got is not being a man able to just kick in the face of the two fighting because this is the only way to stop a fight with friends.
Lmao mami being his friend? Read the series homeslice.
Also, Touma turned edgy after Kensuke yelled him how guys and girls "should be", thats why I feel this was more about him being gay than Mami's desire of being seen as a friend and not only as a hot girl.
We should state: Touma probably feels bad for pushing a friend, a person, and for messing with Mami's personal problems in the context of the fight.
I am just praying Touma is not actually a trans
Pretty sure he's just normal homo. He's clearly into masculine things like sports and didn't want to get makeup done
So to make it clear.
Touma is in the wrong for initiating the fight and twisting Mami words, not because he pushed her aside.
Kensuke is in the wrong for being ignorant, white knight and saying something that snapped Touma.
Shingo is in the wrong for watching two friends fight and letting it be, then punching Touma
only because he twisted Mami words.
Mami is in the wrong for not knowing how to stop friends fight.
Okay, this is not hard to understand.
I agree. Even though he was obviously pushed into a corner it's nice to see him get upset and act irrationally. It makes sense given the context.
I am having some doubts.
letting them fight was the right thing to do, shingo wasnt wrong for that
What doubts. Stop trying to force your tranny fetish on chads because you could never be one.
I agree with this.
I think that means a lot. He is always fulfilling other's people expectations about him. "Sporty, manly nicest guy who gets all the girls", when he maybe is not that much into baseball, he is not the happiest neither nicest guy, and doesn't even like women. It must be hard to hide all of those things. Seeing him mad was an interesting side and makes me think is he probably hiding a lot of angry issues.
>Mami's whole thing about being sick about boy stuff and girl stuff is about unfair standards when it comes to platonic and romantic relationships
But Shingo's reaction has to do with her gender. If she doesn't want her gender to affect her relationship than Shigo shouldn't get mad BECAUSE she's a girl and only because of this. He didn't punch Touma because Mami was his friend (otherwise we would have done it for Kensuke) he did it because she's a girl.
Not it was not because it was not a "fight" Touma was punching shingo and he wasn't reacting at all, you don't let one friend punching the face of other friend like this.
You should stop trying to project yourself, I wasn't even saying that. Touma has been giving hints about how he may not be happy living in the body he is and fulfilling the duties of a man. Personally, him being a trans would ruin everything because he would actually wants to have a body "according" to society's norms. Him being a homo is way more interesting.
>Mami is in the wrong for not knowing how to stop friends fight
Wtf what could she even do about that? You are far-fetching this
Agreed on the others though
Mami is in the wrong for not letting them fight.
You are just forgetting that shingo only punched Touma AFTER he said the thing about Mami wanting to not be treated like a girl.
I dunno, I think he's definitely into baseball. He was pretty crushed when he wasn't able to go to the big game bwcause his broken leg
So what? How does this oppose to what user said? Shingo's reaction is his business, not Mami's. She did not whine to him or ask for protection. Her words and the meaning behind them still got twisted, no matter how Shingo acts
Actually, this is pretty important too
Yes. But he shouldn't apologise because he pushed a girl.
Hmmmmmm
Kensuke initiated the fight though and Shingo did nothing wrong but feels bad about hitting Touma anyway because he's a good dude. Kensuke deserved an ass beating. Mami was foolish to try to stop them but that's not unlike women to do such a thing.
the only thing clear is that Kensuke is a faggot and should not get an apology
>there is no privilege in being punched for trying to separate a fight.
You idiot. NOT being pushed is an advantage. Learn how to read.
People wouldn't white-knight a guy if he happened to be pushed during a fight, but they would if it was a girl.
>Mami was foolish to try to stop them
What should you even do in situations like this? Just stand there and watch like Shingo?
Well, yeah, kind of?
Yes. Let them settle it. You only intervene if someone is going overboard.
Mami doesn't want her gender to affect her relationship. Touma should act differently towards her because she's a girl. What he did was wrong, but it being wrong doesn't have to do with Mami's gender. Mami wants to be like Touma and his other guys friends are. Turns out it includes being kicked sometimes.
Call an adult
Wow you can't read and
understand for real.
I still don't understand what he was supposed to do in this situation, if not brush Mami off? She was grabbing him, touching his arm, and getting in the way. Was he supposed to listen to her because... she is a woman? What? Mami got in the way, she got pushed away, she didn't even get hurt the way everyone else did. Boo-fucking-hoo.
No one "defending" Mami is saying anything about this only about him twisting her words.
Fucking hell I'm gay now. Wtf touma.
That's right baby, you can't resist this chad.
Wanting to suck off Touma isn't gay regardless of your gender user, it's just common sense
I'm not that gay. I just want to hold him tight while I tell him everything will be okay.
I understand Taichi is overwhelmed with this situation but I'm going to need him to stop acting like this has nothing to do with him and try to sort things out. Watching him space out most of the chapter was annoying.
It does have nothing to do with him rofl.
This whole situation was caused by Touma being in love with Taichi. So how is he not involved in it?
I want to gargle his balls
Shingo punched Touma because of what he said and how he twisted her words which were essentially a cheap shot at her insecurities, not because she got pushed.
More like Touma doesn't give a shit about anything anymore.
I don't even remember the name of taichi's gf. Fuck her. Little weak piece of shit.
The author won't even say the literal words "gay" or "lesbian" let alone have any homophobic characters say anything outright homophobic, in the end it'll be written that he was upset that Touma being gay meant he never liked Mami in that way even in the slightest bit and him being a Mamifag took it to heart and he'll be all forgiven and shit.
Really you could say this situation was caused by Kensuke being a fucking asshole and laying his hands on someone for something that was none of his business whatsoever. This would have all played out differently without the fight happening and gossip.
:O
There were a bunch of shots of her while listening to Mami so hopefully, she does something soon.
>Kensuke starting shit for no reason other than Touma being gay
Kensuke's fault
>Touma beating up Kensuke as a result
Touma's justified
>Mami getting pushed back as a result of trying to stop the fight
Accident or at least unintentional to have pushed her to the floor on Touma's part
>Kensuke punching Touma for that
Just him being a Mamifag and lashing out at an accident, unjustified action on Kensuke's part
>Touma then snapping at Mami, twisting her words to justify pushing her on accident and also to take a dig at her worst insecurities and social problems
Uncalled for and unjustified on Touma's part, although given the situation he likely wasn't thinking straight
>Shingo punching Touma for that comment
Justified as Mami was simply trying to stop the fight and though getting pushed was no ones fault really, Touma's words were uncalled for to sya to someone meaning good intentions
>Touma then going ape and beating the shit into Kensuke and Shingo
Justified beating for Kensuke and while Shingo punched Touma for the Mami comment it can be up in the air given the situation Touma was in
I'd say this is pretty '' homophobic '' albeit you are right, in terms of '' homophobia '' the mangaka doesn't really go to great lengths to showcase homophobia.
Still, Kensuke deserved to get beaten up.
I bet she was afraid they would get suspended, leaving bad marks in their student profile when the teachers found out. Japanese schools are strict though. And yea, they really did.
No no, what Touma did wrong here was twisting Mami words not pushing her.
I would say last chapter showed a great deal of homophobia around the students when Touma was outed. But true, it's not always hammering how homophobic is everyone and everything, which is good.
On the other hand, Mami's female friends seem to be good people. I hope they appear more often.
Oh yeah I agree he definitley had it coming. But yeah obviously things like exaggerated disgust by him here is homophobic but you can see in this chapter how much the author is tiptoeing to even say outright that he's gay, like in reality rumours after his coming out in the real world would be
>did you hear Touma's gay!
And yet instead it's just
>did you hear who Touma likes!
>so Mami you now know he likes!
>that's who Touma likes!
>who would've known Touma likes that!
Even in Kensuke's shit starting he outright avoids calling Touma gay and goes all
>YOU'RE A THAT?!?!
>Mami realizing Shingo got hurt because of her again
;_;
What is she supposed to do?
Cause he wasnt involved? If I slap someone for insulting Taylor Swift is she involved in the fight?
True, I honestly that they would end up being total bitches, like they look like the '' onee '' type who would cause trouble, but they honestly seem like decent girls. Even Mami, who I thought would be a total troublemaking bitch, isn't that unbearable and isn't causing trouble left and right, and feels bad when she does something she feels guilty about.
I want those two together.
Express her thoughts on everything with Touma and how's she feeling about it at the very least.
This.
Shingo was not snapped when Mami was pushed, he was just shocked and kinda worried. He only punched Touma because he twisted Mami words to justify his wrong doing.
I want them to just remain as friends and I hope there's no underlying feelings where it turns out Shingo is in love with her but only claims he doesn't since it would make Mami happier that someone understands her.
Well, considering she is an important character in this manga, I'm personally hoping she'd have SOMETHING to say about what is happening, because it's about it affects her dear friend Touma, and her boyfriend Taichi, and then because of that, her as well.
As of yet, she has just been mute, albeit when she wanted to talk about Touma with Taichi, Taichi cut her off fast.
At this point it's getting annoying that we aren't allowed inside the head of Futaba. We'll probably get inside Taichi's head the next two chapters, but Futaba remains an autistic retard.
I also really like their friendship, hope they remain just friend.
People here are being purposelly dense and misreading the scene intentionally, no reason continuing after 6 different chains of explanations.
Even the baldie and others care more. Fuck Taichi desu
Bet those people are the one who still thinking something like "Good boy Touma can't do anything wrong" while in this manga Kaito was trying to show us that everyone has flaws and can make mistake sometimes.
I don't think she's had the chance yet. Like you said Taichi cut her off and when bestdyke is around she's going to take the lead.
Ao no Flag? More like Ao no What the fuck is gonna happen now?
I see the whole promise of his to her as a clue he does love her but won't act on it for that reason.
Well there is the fact that they probably feel guilty for causing it. Taichi hasn't actually done anything wrong despite being at the heart of things. At least until now where he's being spineless.
But that's his biggest character flaw anyway. He wants to do the right thing but lacks the guts to do it when it's difficult. And the one time he actually stepped up, it got Touma run over by sedankun
Its not twisting her words. What touma did is an extension o wanting to no be treated specially, she actually realises this and hence why she just stands there and does nothing. The other guy is trying to excepmt her and make excuses
>no more comfy friend times
It hurts
He's going to talk with Shingo and Kensuke so there's that. Also he doesn't know what actually happened in that room yet.
But it's his best friend, not theirs and they at least attempt to solve the situation.
Meanwhile Taichi decides to stop contacting his best friend who's already in a bad place, and just apathetically exists without attempting to at least check if the said best friend is going to off himself.
I get that he's bothered by the rumors and Touma's crush on him, and he's not obliged to "save him", but reaching out and at least showing some concern would've been nice.
It may be realistic but he and Futaba remain the worst part of the manga.
He also has deliberately isolated himself from the incident so he doesn't have to know.
But you are right, he is meeting kensuke and shingo which is the first step forward
If she understands that you dont get in between two very burly men who are about to beat the shit outta each other. How was she supposed to stop them? Oh right she was about to act like a weak girl to convince him to stop, fuck right off. The guy is pissed, he responded acordingly and made a lot of sense at the same time
Obligatory tits of gtfo
>Touma got her into it
She got in the middle of it, and didnt get hit, she got shoved
>what the fuck is going to happen now
Ao no flag? More like Ao no "Touma is going to commit sudoku all alone in a dark dimly lit apartment and everyone will learn a valuable lesson in homophobic bullying and accepting people of different sexualities and gender identities"
I hope taichi, futaba and the rest will follow him out of guilt. Mami and her female friends will keep living to tell this tale to everyone
Realistically what are the chances this manga takes an Oyasumi Punpun route with Touma and suicide or at least attempted?
>Touma's social life is ruined
>pro-baseball career non-existant at this point
>not going to university
>planning on moving out of his brothers house by himself
>likely doesn't think that he deserves the friends and family who still love and support him
>confessed to the guy he loves who took it in shock and now isn't talking to him
The list of suffering just goes on
This isn't a western comic, moron. One common thing in Japanese stories about bully and social ostracization that differs from similar western stories is everyone is "reasonable" in Japanese stories. There's always a reason for them behaving the way they do, or a misunderstanding, specific to each person that can be addressed and overcome. Things like "they did it because they're racist or homophobic or hateful" or "they're just a fucking asshole" aren't really common. In these stories, the goal and happy ending is always that everyone, bully and bullied, popular and unpopular, reach a common consensus and all get along. In order to facilitate this, people acting badly have some sort of problem or reason of their own that gets addressed, something to make them sympathetic, something beyond simply being a terrible person.
It's in the west where this is seen as hopelessly naive and instead the goal is that the people wronged either get justice or are able to move on and away from the people wronging them. It's much rarer, though still not terribly uncommon, to try and have some sort of conclusion where the instigators have a reasonable excuse. They're either just assholes or their actions are inexcusable and the story doesn't need to spend time giving them something to "explain" their actions because it's generally accepted that sometimes actions don't have a reasonable explanation.
What does western shit have to do with this? And not really, moron. Try reading more manga for starters
It doesn't seem like that kinda story to me. I don't think it'll go that route
God I hope it doesn't go that route
I want to lick Touma’s abs.
I think things will work out in the end, it usually does in this manga. people are just shocked, so of course there'll be gossip and things will calm down eventually. I'd be surprised if it went a much darker route though
Based on what Touma's sister said, I feel we won't get a perectly clean and happy ending. I suspect some characters will still be against Touma in the end, but that he will have to accept that he can't please everyone.
This upcoming convo between Taichi and kensuke does make me wonder if he at least will get over it
"pal" is a bit vague, anyone knows the nip used?
It'll be a bittersweet ending
>Taichi and Futaba break up so Futaba goes to the University of her dream but they still keep in contact and stay good friends
>Musami excepts her sexuality, gets over her unrequited love with Futaba and goes on to be successful in university and has a good career and finds herself a nice woman
>Touma moves out of his brother house after school, can't find a job anymore despite his previous job offers and is forced to resort to a life of hustling and selling his body to groups of faceless old men in order to maintain a living income
He was pretty defensive when it came to his sexuality before too. Though with Masumi the situation deescalated quickly unlike now.
0.005% chance of a successful suicide, 25% chance of a suicide attempt, 60% chance of suicidal thoughts of some sort.
Wrong, Touma will reunite with Einosuke in a gay bar during their late 20s and Einosuke will then win Touma ball.
I feel the same. For some reason Einochad was given a name, he is going to protect Touma’s smile.
I wonder how the baseball team feels about all this.
My hope is they are supportive but who knows
Masumi and Touma remaining acquaintances and frequenting the same circles for being gays is something I can see in their futures.
To be fair one of the other baseball guys had a name as well, but Einosuke has been, at the moment, the most featured, and was the most aggressive towards Taichi because of Touma's injury. And how his eyes are drawn quite femininely, like he has eyeliner/long lashes, and that sexy beauty mark, makes me think that he might be a homo himself.
>Touma moves out of his brother house after school, can't find a job anymore despite his previous job offers and is forced to resort to a life of hustling and selling his body to groups of faceless old men in order to maintain a living income
Can’t wait for the obligatory dj from that doujinka doing the yowamushi pedal ones.
Ao no Fag amirite?
I never liked Mami, she is a hypocrite that tries to acts like a victim. She doesnt want males falling in love with her that she is not interested in because it will ruin friendships but somehow this is all ok when it comes to her liking Touma and him not loving her back. Why doesnt she just give up on him and start seeing him as a friend?
She was going to be Keinsuke’d hard but Kensuke himself interrupted. So far, it wasn’t her fault.
She is not retarded, she knows he doesnt like her. In the early chapters she also came on him pretty hard just like Kensuke did. She is just a hypocrite that doesnt like it when other do it but when she does it its somehow justified.
>Woe is me! the manga
tunnel vision.
And Keisuke was still in the same page when he fought Touma, they are teenagers and trying and trying again is part of their learning. Also, Mami isn’t playing victim here.
Seeing Touma and Taichi, I feel is like pairing Toshiro Mifune with some cute idol guy.
Read slower. She doesn't have a problem with Kensuke having feelings for her, it's his behavior like constantly coming onto her despite her repeated firm rejections and hooking up and dumping other girls "because she's his number one" that bothers her. And she decided she's only going to be friends with Touma long ago.
So, fuck, marry, kill?
Pick wisely.
Anti-Mamifags are purposefully obtuse
Is everyone on the same page in that we really couldn't give less of a shit about Futaba?
Why dont you read slower, it seems like you only read whatever you like to accept.
>She doesn't have a problem with Kensuke having feelings for her,
This is false. Her WHOLE flashback was about the fact that people liking her cause things to go wrong. This time she finally snaps. Its ALL about him liking her.
>And she decided she's only going to be friends with Touma long ago.
No, she didnt.
Fuck Mami, marry Touma, kill the rest
It’d be more likely he would become a celibate monk or get into a lavender marriage
No, I like her very much.
Why? The latter is the nicest and most selfless thing Shingo could do as a friend.
Futaba is the less toxic character around, she is nice and tries really hard to become a better person while struggling to accept the parts of her personality that are not flaws.
fuck Touma marry Shingo Kill Kensuke
kinda based but why fuck Touma instead of marry? I mean, you can't go wrong either way.
I am neutral about her but I thought the author trying to make me feel sorry for her by bringing in some fujo bullies was the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen.
Moreover the existence of her faithful lesbian attack dog prevents her from growing as a character. I don't expect her to tell them to go fuck themselves. But if you're gonna use such a lame plot device as random faceless bullies at least use them for a good reason. There was literally no point to this except creating more angst in a situation that was already saturated with it.
It was even but I can't give Touma the happiness he deserves
>186895020
Fuck Mami Marry Shingo Kill Futaba
I enjoyed this reaction from Masumi.
Literally me.
I wonder when Masumi's crush on Futaba will become more relevant to the story, if ever.
it's just the few edgy teens that think like this
I half expect that she's gonna say it and Futaba will either be like "yeah I knew" or otherwise just rolls with it
>Have to wait another month again
Fuck
I guess the art is worth it. Anime adaptation when? I heard there was this poll in which people could vote for what anime adaptations they want to see but I never heard the results
I voted for this in that poll. Curious about the results myself.
In b4 Futaba breaks character and calls Masumi a disgusting dyke and beats her up.
You seem more annoyed for what you feel about Futaba than about Futaba herself. Maybe you just can't stand shy introverted girls?
not even close to enough traction in nipponland. they tend to stay away from Josei lite series.
Answer one question for me, what are Futaba's flaws?
And don't you dare answer her shyness. This manga keeps using it to play her as a cute and pure, desirable girl. She might as well be that one guy who answers "perfectionism" when the interviewer asks him about her biggest weakness. Her one flaw isn't one, because it exists in an environment that values it. Manga targetted at purefag otakus. It's meta sure, but I can't unsee it. Call me paranoid for seeing it that way if you will, but I just can't help being an idiot who extrapolates everything.
Its shonen technically
I think Masumi is learning fast what is mean to have an unrequited love, so I doubt she is going to confess her right. Maybe when they part ways but not now.
Well it's convenient for her that she has a preview of the aftermath that is Touma coming out as a homo and having a crush on his best friend.
She is introverted and a coward, unable to face people or to stand for her own opinions. Can't talk properly or make an interesting talk, can't be assertive and when there is a problem she choses to avoid the problem. She doesnt feel confident about herself, and when a problem arises, she decides to shut up. Again, because Futaba is tactically hiding during the crisis, it seems she is untouched by it, but if you see deeper, she is coping with her own mechanism.
But they made Wandering son, so maybe this has a chance?
Though her and Touma's situations are pretty different. He's the most popular guy in school while she doesn't seem to be that popular even if everyone thinks she's attractive
Well spotted, I can't deny it, they do remind me of level 1 me. Now I'm at level 99 and I have zero patience left for their kind when they stagnate and wallow in their mediocrity.
This is a pretty legit problem. Is there any manga about this topic?
>She is introverted and a coward, unable to face people or to stand for her own opinions. Can't talk properly or make an interesting talk, can't be assertive and when there is a problem she choses to avoid the problem. She doesnt feel confident about herself, and when a problem arises, she decides to shut up.
But those are good qualities for a woman to have in the current society.
That and she's also pretty aggressive and some people are scared of her.
Shut up, Abe.
So that's it then? We just ride this monthly train until it's over and forgotten?
Marry Mami because she's the best, just the best.
Fuck Taichi while Touma watches and then kill Taichi.
So it goes with like 90% of manga
It's not hopeless though. It's not likely either but it could happen.
Hell, no one expected dorohedoro to get an anime yet here we are
If Taichi wasn't so goddamn cute, I wouldn't care whether he and Touma got together in the end or not. But Taichi is super cute and looks adorable. Why does it have to be this way. Plus, him and Touma would be a cute couple aesthetic wise. But it's not gonna happen. Fucking shit.
not in the top 10
Fuck Touma's sister-in-law, marry Masumi, kill Touma's brother
What were the top few?
they would. there's theories that Tai might like Touma, but i dont want them to go that route
>there's theories that Tai might like Touma, but i dont want them to go that route
what are you, a masochist?
Not him but where could I read up on some theories? I'm really interested in that and seeing if I'm missing anything.
But nobody loves Taichi more than Touma does. I'll always pray for Touma's victory.
We're entering the Touma suicide arc aren't we
They really would be adorable together. They’re interactions are the most fun and interesting. I’ve made my peace with it never happening though.
I think I read people theorising that he's Bi and the flashback Tai had about him and Touma holding hands whenthey were younger was something that caused Tai to potentially repress any homosexual feelings because like Touma said back then "that's for girls"
What if this series ends with Touma realizing being gay is wrong and finding a girlfriend?
What if it ends with both Touma and Masumi realizing being gay is wrong and dating each other?
They weren't. When Touma was revealed as gay, they were scared he was going to rape him so...
I think it was more Tai was still innocent about that since his feelings towards Touma were always platonic, but Touma was coming into his feelings for Tai which made it awkward for him
What? It never said that
Not him, but it was part of the gossip going around. I don't remember if it was a baseball team member saying it or not.
It wasn't like
>he's going to rape me
but more like
>If he tried I wouldn't be able to stop him because he's fucking huge.
The implication is still here.
Yeah I reread the chapter to check, there were random students talking about how if he came after them they couldn't stop him
Stop ruining this thread.
I'm aware.
I'm thinking that was about the fight between him and the other two, as in they'd get their asses kicked if it came to a fight between them and Touma. It's probably best to see what the raw uses for the word "assaulted" here
Well, I wouldn't call this a theory, but often some panels regarding Taichi and Touma, there's Taichi catching glances at Touma, and then kind of, freezing and spacing out.
Masumi and Touma would make a good couple. I remember people thought that there would be another misunderstanding chapter where Tai thinks that Touma might like Masumi since she fits the fake description of the girl Touma likes
yeah, i've been noticing this for a while now. he does look at touma like that
I always figured it was a "he can tell something is up with Touma but can't figure out what" thing
>that last panel
Touma's soon gonna have to let old faceless men from doujins do that to him, to afford his rent
tl;drpill me on the homo getting the nonhomo as his wife
Pretty much this
Something is off about his behavior around him but he can't or won't entertain what we all knew.
God tier genes. I thought she was the person he was describing for a short while until it clicked that it could also be the sister-in-law.
I mean could be, but often the panels include Touma looking exceptionally pleasant, and some are rather suggestive, especially the one where Taichi is imagining how he basically fondled Touma's chest.
>basically fondled Touma's chest
I took that as "why the fuck didn't he say anything?"
I'm sure that's what Taichi was thinking too to masquerade his repressed homolust. He was basically thinking of how in the dark, as he tried to look for Touma, he was fondling his chest. He is thinking about fondling his chest.
Yeah I think these panels are more paralelling him and Touma's innocence, Taichi being embarrased and yet their a lack of it from Touma who's enjoying the moment and of course Tai noticing the lack of Touma's modesty or embarrasment of the situations.
he thought about that at least twice i think. once after they left the haunted room and again when he was in his room after Toumas confession
>homo getting the nonhomo as his wife
You're gonna have to be more specific. There are like 2^5 possibilities that fit this bill at least.
>again after the confession
Clearly making the connection and answering his original question about the situation.
>Why didn't he say anything?
>Oh now I get it. He's gay for me and enjoyed.
Serious question though, how many Japanese high schoolers actually have body and height builds like Touma?
so much projection
If Mami wants to be treated as a friend instead of a crush so much then she should just shave herself bald.
Even if Tai is Bi or not, does anyone not want him and Touma to end up together? I don't know why but something about it would feel cheap, I mean regardless of it being a gay ship how often does unrequited love relationships ever happen in real life or even in most non-harem manga?
But she did shave her head in middle school and her male BFF got beat up by a jealous guy that was into her despite the haircut.
The only people entertaining Taichi being bi or repressed gay are people shipping him with Touma.
Then it would like that manga, Green something, where one of the characters turns into a flamboyant stylist and the other marries and have a child to please his mother.
IMAGINE
I don't want Futaba to get cucked, she's a good girl.
>implying short hair or buzz cuts are ugly and a turn off
On a pretty girl it's always gonna be hot. It highlights the feminity of the features.
I feel Futaba could get over it. At this point her relationship with Tai isn’t even the main focus of Tai himself.
Well he's having an odd time
She understands why though. She's been absorbing information and her wheels are turning.
pretty much this. his friend confessed to liking him which is weird enough. but then he thinks of the past about holding hands and who the type of girl that touma liked and some other things only to find out it was all a lie. make matters worse the whole school is gossipping about him when he's always the type to keep to himself.
There are two conversations about people wanting to be a different gender, one with Touma and Futaba (where she admits she wants to be like him to stop being a spineless weakling, not because she wants a dick or anything) and he says he envies her for being a girl. And then another one (with that bobcut girl, Nodo or what her name was) where it's highlighted that if a girl says "I want to be a guy", people would read it as "I'm tired of this girly shit being pushed on me" and won't see it in a strange light. But when a guy says "I want to be a girl", people would assume he wants to date other men (and Futaba gets a realization when she hears it).
Basically, all this means that Touma would want to be a little girl if it allows him to date his crush and not because he's a degenerate who hates his own body.
I really, really feel she's going to dump him because she's leaving for another school and basically destroying Taichi in the process.
Why the fuck would Shingo and Kensuke want to see Taichi? Hardly seems anything more than misplaced curiosity.
I want to imagine that they want to see what they can do to patch things up with Touma but Kensuke is a huge idiot so fuck knows.
Maybe to apologize? He has nothing to do with it, but because Kensuke lost his temper it became a brawl and now people know that Touma likes him.
damn Masumi getting triggered hard
Shingo, I can understand a bit because the guy is smart. Probably some probing for Taichi's thoughts. If he had any idea about Touma, what he plans to do about it among other things. At first Shingo called it an "apology for hurting your pal" then changed it to "a consultation?". Kensuke I have no clue except that he was maybe dragged into it by Shingo.
Speaking of which who the fuck spilled the beans? I thought it was Kensuke at first but there's no way Kensuke would invite Taichi over if he were the one who told the whole school. Was it the teachers? Or Touma himself?
Shingo probably moreso than Kensuke. In the ens, Kensuke and Shingo are Touma's friends as well, and they kind of are the reason that the whole coming out became bigger than it should've been. They are all involved in Touma potentially getting shit thrown on him, and Taichi becoming involved as well.
I kinda have a feeling that Shingo is the one that spread the rumors, kinda...
Fuck everyone in this chapter except this guy.
Mushroom bro is a true bro.
Mushroom bro and Omega are the best dudes in this whole manga.
Unless they're the ones who told the whole school about it they really have no reason to apologize.
>I kinda have a feeling that Shingo is the one that spread the rumors, kinda...
delete this
>I kinda have a feeling that Shingo is the one that spread the rumors
To me he might has some motivation for that (Mami's crush on Touma) but at the same time it seems out of character. After all he did tell Mami to stop getting so close to Taichi when he and Futaba had just started dating. He's sly and perceptive but doesn't seem the type to fuck over bystanders for personal gain.
Kensuke has reasons to apologize after listening in to a private conversation and interrupting said conversation to start a fight over something that doesn't concern him in any way whatsoever, though.
Very true.
Looking at the chapter, I see people gathered by the door shortly before Mami was pushed. Not sure if they were there long enough to hear though. There were also a lot of rumours a few chapter ago, some people thought that Touma liked Kensuke. Maybe with all these rumours some just made more sense then others and people connected the dots on who Touma liked? Touma did rush in to save Tai from getting run over. He worked hard to convince the class to accept Tai and futaba as part of the school sports festival thing. a lot of little things just added up and started making sense.
>some people thought that Touma liked Kensuke
I don't remember that. When was it?
ch.41.
I don't give a fuck about Futaba and I read shitton of bl, but even I neither see them ending up together, nor I want for that to happen.
The ones who seriously think that Touma and Taichi are going to be together remind me of the people believing that sasuke would end up with naruto or something. It's not the same because Touma is actually gay, but Taichi is not and he's not breaking up with Futaba for this.
Ah, I see. Thanks.
Well he should apologize for that, sure, but to Touma and Mami.
That private conversation wasn't about Taichi's privacy in any way. Creating some drama and spilling the beans about the most popular kid's homo crush are two very different things.
The only way those two events would be connected would be if was right about the source of those rumors being people who spied by the door.
Why exactly?
Mami, her friends and even the ones who are at fault for the entire thing seem sorry and they're actually doing something to resolve the situation. Why is everyone acting like taichi is some sort of victim who needs protection?
Could be the girls by the door. Hell, maybe they've already talked to Touma and he told them to apologize to Taichi.
> Why is everyone acting like taichi is some sort of victim who needs protection?
1) Because he is and there is nothing wrong with aknowledging he's in a vulnerable state right now. I think you underestimate the toll rejecting your friend's feelings + school wide gossip where you have a main role can have on someone.
2) At the time nothing indicated they were trying to resolve things, they were being vague and we still can't speak of their intentions for sure. They just seemed like girls trying to get facts straight from the source of the gossip and I'm sure based mushroom bro got those vibes from her too. Hell I don't think they themselves even know what Kensuke and Shingo have in mind anyways.
Mushroom bro is trying to get Taichi to focus on the future and not high school drama. This isn't the first time either.
I feel like half of the thread just self-insert into Taichi. He wasn't the one rejected and despite having rumors about him he's got decent friends and a girlfriend who are by his side, so he won't be labeled as "homo" in any case. And at this rate you can make a victim out of everyone: Mami who's blaming herself for the fight and for making Touma's feelings known to the entire school; the ones who were involved in the fight since Touma is their friend and they might blame themselves for everything; Masumi who's struggling with her sexuality, feelings for her best friend, and who sees what coming out might lead to etc. Taichi was wronged but he's not some uguu kawaii hurt uke who's being shitted on by the whole world.
I mean, in some way that's what's happening, user, all the people you mentioned have a stake in this whole thing, the thing is while Taichi's friends have nothing to do with it and can go ahead and defend him, Touma's friends are directly involved in this whole shitshow and didn't seem to have his back (which might change with this reunion).
I also kind of question how much Futaba is by his side considering she's been nonexistent throughout this whole ordeal. Hopefully that will change soon.
He and Futaba did absolutely nothing to involve themselves and yet they are having to deal with the aftermath of this clusterfuck. He is a victim of circumstance and so is she.
>I also kind of question how much Futaba is by his side considering she's been nonexistent throughout this whole ordeal. Hopefully that will change soon.
He pushed her away when she tried to be there for him but yes hopefully she can find a way to do that.
