I don't think it was about accepting the pharaoh is gone really, since Yugi was already convinced of that from the start.

I think it was more about Yugi's "coming of age" as the King of Games so to speak. It's one thing to win the bullshit duel with the Paraoh in the last episodes and then end the story, it's another to consistently perform the way he did in the movie. It gives his powerlevel legitimacy.

But if we're really honest the movie was just a giant Kaiba fanwank, which I don't think anyone minds. Given it's cool to think that he came from seeing Yugi as a vessel for Atem to being on apparently somewhat good terms with him, presumably without the same hate-boner he has for Atem.

Dark Magic Circle banishes a card every time you summon Dark Magician and Eternal Soul lets you summon a Dark Magician from your hand or grave every turn. There's also an board-wide "unaffected by all card effects" you can pull with Dragon Knight. So pretty good stuff.
