He tried to simplify his artwork but instead went the opposite direction and started making everything look like a detailed woodblock print. I think someone mentioned that he has a digital workflow now but that's probably just made things worse.

Some of you fags are such dick suckers, it's honestly incredible. We got off the boat in 2015, 7 years before that we spent on the awful and unnecessary boat arc. That means that hardly anything has happened over the last decade. In fact, some people will argue that nothing has happened at all since we have got no character development from any character during that time. Face it, Miura likes to draw berserk but he doesn't like to actually have a story.

With Oda and Togashi it really isn't a big deal as long as they left notes. A skilled writer or a decent mangaka can do a lot with that information and both are good enough at writing that it would at least leave people with an idea of what it would be like if they hadn't died.

Berserk on the other hand has nothing. If Miura left notes it would be underwhelming as fuck because his writing has been shit over the last 10 years. It is also evident that he doesn't know what he's doing and that he's hoping he'll die before having to give an actual conclusion.

Griffith is a shell of his former self (aside from maybe one chapter where he sees Casca). Some may say 'that's the point', but it doesn't make for an interesting character when you're acting like a robot, regardless of thematics. Black Swordsman Griffith was a much more interesting take. His cold inhumanity had a demonic, angelic and prophetic edge. Now he's a one-note villain with no substance. Basically Dio without any of the personality that makes Dio great.

HunterxHunter has like 200-250 chapters left and Toga puts out about 15 chapters per year. That means about 15 years for thr manga to end. Not completely unfinisheable, but an issue because Togashi has back problems and could end up unable to draw in the future. And he has this weird idea that if he can' draw his characters he can't be considered a mangaka, so he woudn't get someone to just draw for him

Berserk has also like 200-300 chapters left at the very least, but the issue is that Miura put out like 4 full chapters last year and this year he is announcing 1 half-chapter in April and another in May. Even if he continued with another half-chapter every month(which he won't) that will mean 4 full chapters this year. At an average of 5 chapters per year, Berserk won't end in 40-60 years.

Wake me up from this nightmare when non retarded Casca finally meets Guts again.

The characters don't have a conflict anymore.

Guts no longer has a reason to pursue Griffith, as that would only risk the things he has recovered, like friends and a gf. Unless he realizes that he is a manga protagonist and the story has to end with him killing Griffith, he has every reason to walk to his death, and the deaths of his allies, anymore.

Griffith has never pursued Guts, his encounter with Rickert implied that he would like to pretend the eclipse wasn't a thing he did, and the endings of Conviction and Ganishka heavily imply that every action of Guts and the Skull Knight has been calculated by the Godhand, so they aren't actually much of a threat. It would appear that at any point in time Void and Femto could just bend space and have Guts sword stab himself or Casca.

Miura needs to kickstart the action again, which probably means Griffith invading Elfheim and lots of Loli Witches vs. Apostle action. If you know Miura, that story alone should take 50-60 chapters. Only after something like that it would make sense for Guts to pursue Griffith again back to Falconia.

And then you need to address the following points:
Conflict with the remaining Apostles.
Someone in Guts party using the Behelit.
The weird issue regarding Gaisseric being a branded like Guts and a conqueror like Griffith.
The death of the Godhand.
Guts somehow breaking the "cycle" so he doesn't end up a Skull Knight.
Separation of the worlds so fantasy creatures no longer make the world unlivable.
Emotional resolution for the main cast.

There is no way all that happens in less than 50 chapters.

Togashi here illustrates an insincere - almost mechanical approach towards the arguments of which he bases his prerogative as an author, reminiscent of Seneca's theories of detachment rather than proffering a natural synergy between reader and narrative. Where Togashi forces upon the subjective with the objectivity of his explicitly written discourse (quite an amateur story device), Miura encourages the distinct opposite. Rather than truncating the audience's individualist tendencies, he exacts a humanist subtlety that may bypass the observation of many others upon their first read - this is, however, an intentional priority, reflecting one of the most important themes of the entire Berserk series: that of expressive self-actualization. Togashi should be inspired by the second set of panels in this post, quite frankly. It may help in the future.

Are Berserkfags really this delusional? HxH is better than Berserk in most ways. The characters have actual depth beyond just "hurr me badass, me kill monster" and it has deep and meaningful things to say of the themes the series covers, unlike Berserk which is "hurr me angry, me want revenge!".

Moreover unlike Berserk, HxH is able to seamlessly weave in and out of genres, going from martial arts tournaments to mob wars to MMORPGs to the epic rise and fall of an entire civilization to politics and a new era of exploration and colonialism. Anyone who is a fan of manga owes it to themselves to read this masterpiece. 100 years from now Berserk will be just another obscure edgefest like Gantz or Tokyo Ghoul which are generic battle shonen at their core, while HxH will still be discusses in universities as one of the most ambitious undertakings in human storytelling.

This speaks to how dense Togashi's writing is with ideas, and HxH is at the moment at least ten times as thick with plot and intrigue as Berserk was at its height. To give you a tangible example of this, currently in Hunter x Hunter we have a small conflict about the succession struggle of a single kingdom that is being represented by THIS graph. This is the level of storytelling that Hunter x Hunter is operating on. Berserk wouldn't look out of place in any shounen magazine serializing at the moment, while the absolutely ingenious narrative of HxH keeps reaching further heights in thrill and storytelling.

A fight doesn't need to have 10 minutes of narration and comparisons to a board game to be thrilling and impactful. The second Guts vs Griffith fight is one of the most iconic in the entirely of graphic novels, Western or Japanese, despite lasting a few pages and being extremely simple. Emotional investment in a character and the consequences of the fight far outweigh excessively complicated punching matches.
