And yes, i`ve been on Yea Forums watching how the Monogatari anime was percieved and keeps up - and the only thing ever making resonance is fanservice. Its still the only reason people do pretend to like this poorly done anime.

This seems to be a animation (as in the act of animation itself, not the whole quality of the product), and in that regard i dont see how its wrong. I think most kyoani modern shows to be boring bullshit based on their shitty LNs but i wont deny that in terms of actual animation their shows always look great, Bones just had Mob Psycho which i thought it was just ok but the production quality was amazing (every episode felt like a "burn the budget" episode). Ufotable was always great at animating. The only one i would bump down is Dogakobo to A or B tier, their most recent shows have looked really average.

There are other details but the list isnt horrible.

You can argue both studios are above average (if you take as "average" something on level of Nomad and Diomedea), but they certainly do not have "best animation department in industry".

A ex-Sunrise substudio of around 60 people, almost permanently in semi-bankrupt state, with notorious quality issue in production (i.e. they cant keep up quality of episodes consistentely) and relying heavily on freelancer and plain outsourcing. They are ok, but they are nowhere even near as good say other Sunrise substudios, like Studio 8, let alone studios that DO have actual bigger and better staffed animation departments.

Whats Ufotable? This one actually well stuffed and has good resources, but main thing they are known for is exclusively their digital department and cgi. Their actual "animation" is rather poor - they can make it fancy, but choreography and quality do not stand out, mostly just hidden behind effects and post processing.

And well, the key point to whenever studio has good animation is how frequent it is, and so far there's no studios that can actually produce their level of animation, on regular basis.
Also freelancing is common in anime industry, almost every studio has to rely on it.

BONES mainly uses this department to train young inbetweeners, which they regularly hire every year. When they’re ready, they undergo a key animation exam, and if they pass… they get fired. Yes, quite literally. It means that their training has ended and now it’s time to move on, making room for new animation trainees. Most of the graduates continue to work for the studio as freelancers, so this system is ultimately quite effective.

Ufotable is, unlike bones, a rather large studio that can both afford to make somewhat consistent animation and very fancy post processing - their digital department i sprobably the best out of tv anim estudios. That said, it does not mean they are in the top league if you can count dozens of studios that easily can and do make more outstanding things, even if not regularly.

Bones has been doing a good job lately. I still have fond memories of Madhouse and IG in the 90s and early 2000s. As much as Pierrot's usual quality is shit, they occasionally have good choreography and fluid animation. Deen on the otherhand is iredeemable. I can not forgive LidenFilms for what they did to Berserk. Sunrise and Toei are right where they belong. I've early Jojo was beautiful and David adapted to the changes in style with each part well but the latest seasons have less of the charm of part 2 and part 3 even though Araki's art only improves.
