>it didn't end with Yusuke, Hiei & Kurama as the new three kings of demon world & Kuwabara as the next spirit detective
christ this series really shit the bed in the last arc, I understand the author dropped it but all that buildup for literally nothing but a mini tournament that made no sense and a filler beach episode. If any series deserved a proper ending it was this one, everything up until that point was literally perfect. I know I'm really late to the party but holy shit I'm so mad about this, can't imagine how readers must have felt about it in the mid 90s.
anyway post missed opportunities in your favorite series.
I wasn't mad about the outcome, it fit Yusuke's character. But clearly the direction of the story was going elsewhere before it was rushed to the ending.
Nicholas Johnson
tournament arcs are the worst thing to ever happen in shounem.
Mason Jenkins
YYH did it right the first 2 times at least.
Cameron Butler
I prefer Yusuke marrying Keiko and chilling after all these excruciating years risking his life. Same for Kurama.
But yeah Hiei should've become the King
Levi Jenkins
>didnt end with kuwabara slicing sensui in two
Gavin Garcia
His ending was definitely deserved, but desu his whole character was about chasing the next fight, I don't think the quiet life will suit him. That's why I think he was introduced to the retired spirit detective, she led the life that he was pushed into by the end, but at the time anyone could clearly see he wasn't cut out for that life. He wasn't 100% on human side, it seemed like his character was going to find the right balance of 50/50 human/demon.
Also I'm 90% sure Mukuro was designed to die in a fight, not sure if Hiei was supposed to be the one to kill her or not but it seemed like her character was introduced for his development and progression.
Dominic Martinez
>Hiei never used that multi-eyes form again after his fight with Yusuke
I always wonder why he never did that.
Oliver White
Originally Hiei was never supposed to be a main character, the editor made Togashi turn him into one. Togashi said he would have never given him that form if he knew he was going to be a MC.
Jeremiah Davis
>Togashi said he would have never given him that form if he knew he was going to be a MC not that user buy I wonder why? that form was actually really cool and even cute looking. I guess maybe "grotesque" designs were looked down on back then?
there are lots of things about hiei i'll never understand why they discarded. He could even use mind control and manipulate memories. Though i don't really remember if he used it on mukuro in the manga.
Bentley Bennett
Eh, Genki Tournament and Dark Tournament were excellent in YYH. The final one was an overpopulated rush job before Togashi just threw a happy ending at Yusuke.
Colton Miller
Yusuke said himself that he is too stupid to be King, that’s why he made a tournament were he would probably lose but end the the stand off in the Makai.
Parker Morgan
YYH has such a good animation, propbably one of the best animated tv series of the 90s.
Hudson Russell
Mukuro was created to give Hiei a edgy waifu so the Fujos would stop shipping Kurama and Hiei.
Togashi and the anime even makes some gay jokes at Kurama expense towards the end.
Jose Gomez
Is anyone bothered that Hiei is only turns green when he first fight Yusuke and the awful movie?
Daniel Perry
>filler beach episode i liked the ending. Not everything in life is about becoming the biggest broly in hell or whatever, his fight with Toguro was exactly about how pointless is being above the rest.
>Filler He resolves his relationship with Keiko and cements his return to human world. Whats filler about it?
Isaac James
The rushed ending was pulled from the final manga chapter that was shuffled around with some changes. Like genkai still being alive at the end, they went to her house after receiving a summons for a will reading. And keiko's cringey as fuck outburst on the beach also never happened.
Christian Lewis
>Whats filler about it? Genkai not being dead. Keiko's cringey outburst and forced drama. Yusuke not being there and showing up at the last moment, he arrived with everyone. The beach kiss didn't happen.
I thought she was supposed to be a mother figure? It perfectly parallels the all-female race he came from that abandoned him.
I don't see how fujos got attached to the series, there's an explicit anti-gay scene near the beginning.
Connor Morris
>I don't see how fujos got attached to the series the series made them fujos.
Grayson Thompson
>I don't see how fujos got attached to the series Kurama was a calculated fujo bait by Togashi, he looks and acts like a Saint Seiya character but better written since isn’t Kuramada writing him.
>there's an explicit anti-gay scene near the beginning. Yusuke also beats up a tranny demon at Tarukani’s mansion.
Charles Davis
I know, I talking about the rushed anime ending.
Luke Miller
>fake boobs >tranny
Adam Cook
He still had dick and balls
Nathan Price
This but for some reason the quality really takes a nosedive right after sensui, in fact I'd even say it starts with sensui with the exception of some clever artistic scenes
Mason Cook
Are you retarded? The best "shonen" are Hunter x Hunter, Fullkettle Alchemist and JoJo's Diamond is Unbreakable. Although the first and last one are SHINOs shonen in name only
Angel Morris
Do you ever get tired of being a faggot online?
Landon Sanchez
I want to immediately be placed in the timeline where HxH was cancelled and YYH still runs.
Thomas Lewis
I would give the last 10 years of my life for a YYH sequel, Togashi could just write and let other mangaka draw it.
Eli Richardson
shit taste
Ethan Brooks
Kuwabara as the spirit detective would have been an hilarious story
Jason Hughes
Togashi got deathly ill due to overwork and was forced to wrap up YuYu Hakusho prematurely. As an apology Shueisha allowed him to write all his future works at his own pace. This backfired heavily since Togashi ended up exploiting it heavily, which is why he's a lazy hack who barely puts any effort into Hunter x Hunter, yet his retarded fanbase still eats up whatever he shits on their plate.
Cooper Myers
Kuwabara is based. If anyone was deserving of the spotlight, it was him. I especially love how the show occasionally shits on the other characters for treating him like a joke instead of a valuable member of the team.
I don't think I've ever made it past the flute guy.
Blake Diaz
>yusuke has to die and get resurrected and get a spirit animal and get trained by a spirit energy master to get strong... oh and he is a descendant of a demon king >kuwabara has a spirit sword that he learns to create without a handle and comes up with dozens of new abilities and can slice dimensions and he defeated an entire team to impress his crush
Yu yu Hakusho should of had more tournaments. Just comfy martial artists who are apart of this underground supernatural tournament culture that are paranormal crime solvers in their day job. They never left japan to go fight in some middle Easten dictator’s Tournament fighting sentient bears and cyborgs
Jaxson Clark
man, you're fuckin clueless. the ending was perfect
