Two things. First the author is a woman. Second it was actually a tumblr account she posted to, and what she said is that she wished she had actually read over the scripts for the last two episodes before approving it because she didn't like how it made Yoshio look lile a monster. This post was taken down within an hour and it wasn't until like a week later that there was a new post thanking people for watching the series and that any disatisfaction was probably her fault as she's the one who suggested they actually go to the city.

The twitter drama with the ending was the scriptwriter deleting all his social media accounts and "someone" with an IP from his area trying to edit the series off of his wikipedia page at the same time immediately after the backlash started.
