Was this a good anime?
Sonic X
I only really liked the Shadow parts. I'd probably hate it all together nowadays. Well maybe not hate, but bored.
It unironically was. I enjoyed it a lot and the integration with human world made it better
I loved this so much as a kid. I was such a Sonicfag. He was just so much cooler than Mario. A fat middle aged Italian plumber vs a blue hedgehog that runs at, supposedly, the speed of light. But I have to give props to Nintendo for still pulling through.
Not as bad as the american one,but it was still horrible
Yes
Unironically
Anything involving the humans was shit, but it had nice parts like the game adaptations, and some amusing meta humor at times.
Yeah it was actually pretty good.
Obviously not the Japanese version, not the 4kids version, that should go without saying.
Then again I watched it when I was 11 or 12
No. Chris was an insufferable faggot.
I remember back in like 2005 when this was airing on Jetix I didn’t know that shit was animu back then
GOTTA GO FAST
It's the speed of sound man come on did you even watch the show
Its very good for kids. I remember not liking last season though.
Mario is timeless, Sonic is a product of the 90s
No
The whole storyline with tails and that green chick fell flat for me. But I loved it as a kid.
I also have sonic to thank for the legendary Sammy though.
That doesn't make Sonic bad, he just can't really have a "good" transition to 3D as Mario did because Sonic is all about going fast, and that's way harder to do (And have it still be fair and fun)
Sonic just wasn't made to be played in 3D, but he still cooler than Mario
Shadow the edgehog is the coolest.
Shadow is just autistic Sonic
Mario is also the most autistic vg character overall(s), so what's your point?
Sonic's stages in the first Sonic Adventure and the first 3 or so in Sonic Adventure 2 did it right
>room shakes when he goes super sonic
Was Sammy the real deal?
>It took a complete character overhaul to make 3D work.
>>>>>>
?
Hey, we are talking about the anime Sonic X here
Rude
Sonic Jam, R, and 3D Blast (which barely counts): the only 3D games in the classic Sonic era, were shit in its entirety.
It's still based on a video game, so fuck off.
So, any anime based on a videogame immediatly doesn't count as an anime?
Yeah i'm sorry but that's bullshit
If we talked about the Castlevania anime in Yea Forums they would send us back here
Now you fuck off
Here's your good Sonic anime bro
>American made Netflix series
>anime
YOU fuck off!
It was an example, retard
when I was 10 I used to watch sonic x in japanese with subs on youtube on several 7min parts at 240p. It's unironically how I discovered anime and prompted me to learn how to speak japanese. I am extremely ashamed of that fact and any mention of this show immidiately makes me want to vomit.
I used to listen to this unironically hundreds of times because i'm a massive faggot
youtube.com
>inb4 learning moonspeak because of sonic x
Damn knuckles had a cool hat
Lay down and stay down.
So what about that implies a "complete character overhaul"? He didn't really HAVE a character before Adventure gave him spoken dialogue, nobody did.
Then why do we discuss anime based on light novels here? shouldn't that go to Yea Forums if we abide by your standards
Hi, Pan.
All of the sanic cartoons are shit except ova
It's a shame Sonic X killed any chance of Sonic getting another anime. It was a massive bomb in Japan.
Lay down...And. Stay. Down.
>No argument
Lay down...And. Stay. Down.
Don't make me post a Unicron Trilogy Transformers thread just to spite you
Argument was over before it started, and you're doing mental gymnastics as damage control instead of coping with your loss.
Fine by me, autist. Give me a good chuckle.
Nice projection. Go lick a mod's asshole somewhere else
>Sonic
>Good
>The whole story-line with tails and that green chick fell flat for me.
I bet you watched the dub
I wanted to fuck Rouge more than I understood at the time.
Classic Sonic is also timeless, both in design and personality, Modern Sonic is a product of the 90s, thanks to his excessive 'tude and edgy plots
Sonic doesn't need to talk that much, nor have overly serious plots or shitty 90s rock songs
I like the part where Tails' girlfriend died.
But the song is beautiful.
Classic Sonic is not timeless they were cutting in hip 90s songs even far as back as Sonic CD.
Don't respond to him Classic Sonic autist are extremely delusional
I liked her human friend.
Sonic CD is a mediocre game and marked the start of his downfall. but tracks like Stardust Speedway (with its barely understandable lyrics) still felt like a Sonic music
you can't really compare Megadrive-era Sonic with the Poochie-like travesty from Dreamcast-era onwards
>93, basically Sonic 1.5
>start of his downfall
Now this is peak Sonic genwunnerism.
the franchise started in 91, CD came out in 93. Are you saying his downfall started 2 years after the franchise began?
Isn't Sonic's popularity primarily in the west, anyway? Sonic X aired for like, 10 fucking years in America. Right up until the end of network Saturday morning cartoons.
Is that you mariotehplumber?
You can probably pinpoint the entirety of Sega's downfall to the year 1994, really. The launch of the 32X, and the suicidal decisions made with the Saturn created such a rift that even if the Dreamcast was more successful, chances are they'd still be out of the console business.
yes, Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 1 (8-bit) and Sonic 2 (8-bit) are all fine games, Sonic CD has an atrocious level design and marked the start of his downfall. Sonic 3&K is peak Sonic, but Sonic was already going downhill alongside Sega by 93-94 so they fucked up by splitting the game in two halves. anything released after the Megadrive-era is forgettable, except Mania
forgettable doesn't mean bad, games like Sonic Pocket Adventure or Sonic Advance 1 are still fun. but all 3D games are bad, especially Shadow, 06 and boost-shit
I don't know this person.
I definitely wouldn't say the Sonic Adventure games are forgettable. Arguably not good, but they're pretty iconic latel 90s/early 2000s.
Jetix....oh the memories
Sounds like the franchise doesn't have any staying power if that's the case.
This is the first time I've heard this song in years
The singer actually sounds kinda pretty bad. Sounds like she's struggling. Wow I'd swear it's a youtube cover.
It's a great song otherwise though.
Oh I looked her up, she was born in 94 so I guess she was only 9 when she sung it, that explains it. Hasnt done anything since though. She wasn't that bad, at least for a 9 year old I think.
It’s definitely an anime. That’s all I know.
Born in '92 actually, so 11
>Sonic 3&K is peak Sonic
Some fan just released a remaster.
>I am extremely ashamed of that fact and any mention of this show immidiately makes me want to vomit.
Why? Because e-celebs told you Sonic is cringy? Who cares everyone had shit they loved as kids no reason to be ashamed over it.
I watched some episodes as a teen, waiting for it to turn as great as the Dreamcast videogame, but it turned out to be simply bad or mediocre at best. But as least it isnt as shit as this:
youtube.com
AoSTH while pretty shit provided some great content for youtube poop kino so im glad it was a thing.
I've always found the music choices in this intro really bizarre. You've got In the Hall of the Mountain King and Flight of the Bumblebee mixed with the title theme from the Genesis game.
Cry more, faggot.
It's funny how metal sonic died.
