Not that user, but I thought Hamatora was trash. I really liked the first episode, but it turned out really bad by the end, in my opinion. I can't remember my reasoning, since I watched it way back when it aired, but I vaguely recall it having bad characters that made questionable actions and the ending being the dumbest shit. And I love dumb shit. Must've been bad dumb shit.
Tiramisu is great, though. If you watch a lot of mecha shows, you'll probably enjoy all of the ways it pokes fun at and also references them. Even with little to no mecha knowledge, it should still be funny. It's also short-form (7 minutes), so you can finish it pretty fast.

Thought you were advocating for a thumbs up/thumbs down score system for a second there, which has become increasingly prevalent these days and I hate it, most notably on Netflix and Steam (Youtube, too, but they're just videos and shit, so not as bad). A yes or no is not a score. Even a 5.1 is a "yes" with that system. MAL even took it one step further with user reviews, where you can only say you liked someone's review now, you can't even click a thing to say it's bad anymore.
Anyway, I sort of agree. There are tons of low quality anime that I love and tons of high quality things that I thought were severely mediocre, but I still think that just factors in to the score as a whole. That's how I score everything, anyway, I think about the objective content and then try and combine it with my subjective enjoyment of the anime.
I guess it would be nice to have a way to further gauge the overall opinion of something if two scoring systems were implemented, though, even if it's MAL. Also, I just had a funny thought that Mamoru Oshii's works would probably have complete opposite ratings with a scoring system like that, since all of his works are incredibly high quality, but most are extremely dry.

It's a real shame that some people can't look past stuff like that or even go out there and try something out of their comfort zone, but maybe a double scoring system like that could possibly get people to try some of the stuff that look bad, but has good content. Who knows, though.

All scoring systems for media are ultimately shit because it is literally impossible for them to account for personal taste. And this is why to this day I cannot fathom why literally anyone uses MAL or whatever to actually decide what to watch: you'll get 100% more mileage from just watching the first episode. Your next best bet would be just finding a single reviewer you know has similar taste to you and follow them I suppose (I do this for games, not for anime).

I only ever score for myself, for autism reasons of ranking. I am only using anilist anyway and nobody fucking uses anilist to look at profiles or talk, it's just a database you use for Taiga to know which episode to watch next and all that shit. I deleted MAL updater because the website is fucking AIDS and bugged all the time and I only ever used it for the same reason as anilist.

The whole reason they do that is because numbered scoring systems are completely worthless for making a decision with. They're only good for coming up with ranking lists, but those will always end up a reflection of popularity and that can be measured in other ways more effectively. Nobody agrees on what the numbers mean in terms of good/bad, so they're functionally meaningless. For instance, I don't care if you arbitrarily decide that a game is a 6 and not a 4, whatever those mean, I just want to know whether or not you thought it was worth playing. The only benefit to numbered ranking is easy sorting of your own personal libraries once they get too large.

Yeah this. I often drop series I scored with a 6,5 or even a 7, which means it's actually good, but I personally don't want to watch it and would only recommend it to specific people for specific reasons. And then again I enjoy a shitton of series I rate with a 6. Only
