Obviously that's not the only reason I like them, I like that Hori tries to really diversify the different groups within the Manga. Just looking at the LoV is a good example:

The biggest eyesores for me are All might muscle form, Deku, Bakugo, Uraraka, All for One. Mostly pisses me off cause they're all the important ones.

Thats alright but there's still too many contrasting colors in that design. Notice how excluding black details neither superman nor spider-man go beyond 3 eyecathing colors and the third color is used for really, really tiny but significant details. Superman has red and blue costume with the yellow background for his S symbol. Spider man has blue and red suit with white eyes. Both reference american symbols but the artists knew they can't just have 3 highly contrasting colors have a similar surface area in the costume. All might costume balances four contrasting colors.
As for AfO Villains rarely wear costumes and I don't want them to. Villains are either evil or insane and their looks should reflect their personality. A guy with a suit and a mask could as well be a good guy like Gang Orca. And AfO doesn't even look like a gangster.

I'm pretty sure that the interpretation is supposed to be Toga doesn't like the general power dynamic behind society of might=right, so she feels that by killing people off that look weak she's preventing them from ever reaching that dynamic and ever reaching that loss; with the 'lukewarm' part being that she's subconsciously acknowledging full well that she's playing the exact same power dynamic and in a way making them lose a bit in exachange for not losing in the long run and likely because they aren't dying in a particularly bad way, *nudgenudgewinkwink*.
Going off the symbolism, she clearly knows she's in the wrong (she's stood in the shadow) and she's done it many tmes before (the slumped bodies while the larger figures take the spotlight). Oh yeah, and the dude she fucked died while she fucked him (as in, you can see he's slumped and haemmoraged blood), she's just not acknowledging that she killed him likely due to sociopathy. The 'icecream that never melts is probably referring to the blood staying in its thick, coagulated state post-mortem.

Suits can be a lot of things, you just need a good idea what to do with them, and there are many different types of suits. even more ways to wear them, a lot of things for the artist to customize. AfO doesn't have a good idea behind it, Gang Orka had more of that cause it both contrasted his hero job, and played into a gangster theme. AfO has a pretty ordinary suit with nothing about it really standing out, and the mask is a bit of a cliche

I suppose for me, it comes down to the contrast between his near-godlike reputation/powers and his plain and ordinary choice of clothing. Hori generally gets that symbolism correct.
Take for example, the difference in design from Gentle and AfO. AfO wears a thick, sharp suit shwing his asserts dominance as 'the boss', but his lack of a tie and messed collar shows that he's relatively lax and is open to making jokes. Gentle on the otherhand wears a mmuch slimmer, detailed suit likening more to a butler than a boss. This shows as he's much more eccentric and pompous and isn't a really serious villain to be cared about much.
The fact Destro has an extrmely similar, sharp design to AfO's suit really cements that he's a larger player (moreso whenwe've already been told that he's going to win vs the LoV and that we'll be witnessing the downfall of the LoV this arc)

Have you ever noticed how Hunterchads create funny, clever and thought-out OC while Herofags seem to always post the same pictures and the same shitposts? How many times have you seen Herospics repeat "bait" or "if you dont like it dont read it", or how they always say they won when they never provide a single insightful post?
The reason for this is pretty simple. HxH is a series that wants its readers to use critical thinking, where characters analyze situations in depth but also more abstract concepts, where they are conflicted and think about ethical or logical implications of their actions or those of others. Filler Academia on the other hand, is centered around a cast of one-dimensional characters defined by simple gimmicks, and in return you never get any thought-provoking dialogue. It's all very manichaean, the bad guys are clear cut and when it attempts to tackle serious themes, it does it in such a shallow and predictable way it's not even worth mentioning. It's all very repetitive, it constantly follows the same formula, much like Herotard posts.
This is also the reason they just don't know how to be funny. The humor in MHA is aimed at little children (Deku sees boobs XD), and as a result, you get all these cringy Herobabbies shitposting in HxH threads out of butthurt.
The only feeling Herotards should evoke is contempt. They actually are lesser beings.

Actually, I liked Joint Training. Perhaps that's because I was enjoying the personalities and the dynamics rather than getting upset over the pacing, flat notes, or Momo focusing on the wrong thing again and getting beat - again - as a result. It was very interesting to see 1-B up close and find out about their quirks and people and interactions. As to the fights themselves, the unexpected seemed to be the key. The team that could pull out the most unexpected moves and abilities that the other side couldn't counter, won. Hence B's victory in the second match due to mushrooms, and loss in 4 against teamwork and Bakugo's combat awareness that they couldn't match or adapt to. As to the seven quirks that SO MANY here obsess with: Once I thought about it, yes, of course a quirk that allowed you to pass quirks on would wind up including the quirks of all subsequent holders. And also, I'm more than a bit uneasy about what sort of final confrontation the series is aiming at, that that much firepower on the part of the protagonist will be necessary...

It's not just that, but there's the more subconscious shit like his head not beig the standard form. Same way as military frogmen wear drapes, AfO's headgear is in a way disociative of the human form, which in turn removes his recognisable humanity, dispite the minor skull motif on the helm itself.
The general attire as a whole describes him perfectly; he's very no-nonsense straightforward guy. He wanted to be the dark overlord ruler, and had the capabilit of being the dark overlord ruler-so he did just that. Those were his ideals, and this is reflected; as oppose to more erratic, disunified designs such as Stain whose goals are much more 'all over the place'.

That part of him reserved for his underlings and for All might is good , no question. He could be a very good character if he was taken down after he was developed for more time or at least hyped up more. From what I know his purpose for the story was to show that an era has ended by jobbing for the last time. We got to briefly see the raw power of his quirks but very little in terms of how he affects the world around him, what his status lets him do. I'm gonna compare it to Naruto again, but don't think that I'm a Narutard, I just think BNHA is very similar. Orochimaru before we even see his real body is made to look kinda terrifying by infiltrating the chunin exams by stealing people's faces, doing whatever he wants and then disappearing when he feels like it. He's kinda similar to AfO since both are collectors of abilities with immeasurable potential for scheming. Naruto presents Orochimaru as some sort of supernatural being that has transcended human realm through a collection of non-offensive abilities. AfO however only used his offensive skills on-screen right before getting BTFO by other offensive skill. Wasted opportunity imho and disappointing "greatest villain".

But AfO's time has ended. He does technically command power but his empire has already crumbled and he is a fucking cripple. Orochimaru was in the height of his ability and influence. The point is that both AfO and All Might were introduced into the story as part of the past. The same way you don't really know the personality and life of your parents at a very young age the same way the stories and effect of All Might and AfO are explored more as something in the past. They won't change anymore and all we can do is learn more about them and how has influenced the current events. Their story is told after the end of their character. They aren't independent characters, they serve for the story of our protagonists(Shiggy and Deku).
While he may seem simplistic, that kinda the point, he represents a more idealistic image of evil whiles Shigaraki is supposed to be built into something more complex. AfO is evil basically because he could (on the surface level) while the current generation of villains have much more complex and/or realistic reasons for their villainy. Some driven mad by their quirks, some suffered at the hands of others, some going outright politics.

Hisoka is arguably the most complex hedonist in fiction. Functionally in a plot full of plans and counter plans he brings the chaotic wrench that can turn the tide in anyone's favour to get what he wants which could be completely irrelevant to the other big stakes at play. He works as a character because his selfish goals are believable and consistent, despite his allegiance being fickle, you can trust him to be untrustworthy. His character trait of having multiple persons of interest on his radar at anyone time elevates him above the usual obsessive, stalker type character. While his desire to hunt and fight strong opponents also means he doesn't do the typical thing of capturing those he is interested in but lets them run free as he also travels around.
Hisoka is inherently interesting, he has his own philosophy, morality and codes, he lives in the present and despite his greater amount of despicable traits can also be amazing in a likable way as well incredible funny and even sympathetic. Of course I would be amiss not to at least make an honorable mention here of his changing wardrobe. To have Hisoka's attire change every arc is a clever, subtle way of visually expressing that the series is entering into a new story and theme.
