Same here, it was terribly weak compared to the manga counterpart. There's little to no focus on the actual demon at the end, and the fight is dull.
Next week's arc is definitely in my top 3 favorite arcs, and I hope the bad execution of this week's episode means that the Sabame arc will be excellent in terms of writing and animation. Since it's featured in the Opening, I assume they put more effort into it.

considering the changes thus far, it worked quite well within that context. surprisingly good and developed dororo still, but in a different way that's driven by this adaption.
she is still sad for hyakki's parent situation, she is driven to protect him no matter what. hyakki at the end gives in and goes to do what she wants instead of is hyper focused demon mission.
it was a bit weak for how the woman tries to protect dororo and dies that way in the manga, but I'm glad depsite all the changes they still had her have a weakness for dororo.
