I also think that Eren is going to lose this fight and here's why:
if Eren wins, it means he gets to destroy all of Marley's troops now, and Marley loses the war. Maybe Piecke manages to flee with Gabi and one of the warriors, but at least Reiner or Porco is left behind and eaten by Eren. The story would basically end right here, because Piecke sucks at battle and it would be just a matter of time before she was killed by the Paradis soldiers (or Eren).

Storywise, this makes the most sense, but the story also seems to be setting up the pregnancy as a mystery which is honestly obnoxious at this point since I think it’s not likely “who is the father” as a mystery and can easily go wrong writing wise no matter what the mystery is (most likely, what made Historia decide to do this is the mystery, and it’ll be a bit of a letdown and wouldn’t even be a mystery at all were it not for Isayama’s common writing pitfall: pacing).

How does it make the most sense for Eren to not be the father? I pointed out how having a child can serve both Eren and Historia's characters.

We can infer that Historia got pregnant in the hopes of saving her own life, considering how the pregnancy has interfered with the plan to make her into a shifter. Maybe there's more to it than that, but I doubt the central point will change.

Given Zeke's recent resurrection through paths fuckery, the overall theme of being born into this world vs anti-natalism, Eren being likened to the Devil, the motherhood imagery and symbolism being associated with Historia since long before she became pregnant, her former connection with divinity ("Goddess") and the girl who approached/was approached by the Devil ("Krista" in the book from her childhood/"Ymir" from Marleyan history books), then I'd say it's extremely likely.
If anything I'd be surprised if it didn't serve a greater purpose or had much deeper implications than what we've been led to believe so far. Also why I'm quasi certain at this point that Eren is 100% involved and the arguments about the father being irrelevant don't really hold water to me anymore.

Eren or Zeke. One or the other wants peace by different means be it attempt of equality or Eldian oppression (may not be the case for Eren but who knows how far he will take this).
And who would exterminate humanity? Eren made it clear that he's sticking with the Eldians but how far he wants to be ruthless with the rest of the world is up in the air. To be clear, Magarth have never said he would fight for Eldian rights but only made his top priority to preserve Marley for everyone that's part of Marley. But the problem isn't whether he was for or against, the main issue is that the entire world is heavily rooted in Eldian oppression and removing the one threat that made them alive will only mean the extinction of their race. There is no ifs or buts, if Magath did fight to preserve the Eldians he is but one man against a entire world both Marleyian citizens and everyone else who believe that the Eldian race should be genocide'd. Their sins extend to their ancestors and the world believe that they're not human.

I think she was distraught because of whatever she talked about with hooded-kun before going to the Farmer. At this point it's clear to me that hooded-kun is Eren so I assume there must have been some disagreement, quarrel or falling out over a certain issue related to this whole pregnancy, their relationship or what either she or he will have to do in the future. It might also be one of the last times they actually interacted before Eren fucked off to Marley so the tension that arose between the two might be still be unresolved and weighing on both their minds. Just speculating tho.

i think a big part of the warriors seeming way more compelling compared to the paradis jabronis is that most of them only got their real in-depth characterization and exploration (or were introduced at all) fairly recently in the series, whereas the rest of them were all pretty much hashed out in the early arcs. isyama has grown a lot as a writer over the course of the series, and being able to come to a character with a relatively fresh slate or to an entirely fresh character now, with everything he's learned and practiced over the years, is a big difference from having all the associated baggage of more amateur writing and roles that these 'old' characters have. ontop of that, the story has simply moved completely away from most of them. theyre supporting characters in a reactionary position, while reiner was brought up to deuteragonist and annie got a lot of key characterization in the flashbacks
