This is probably why Eternity Devil wants him dead or wants to consume him (Devils eating other devils seems to give them a part of their fear which is why Gun Devil parts boost normal devils). For whatever reason he's just really docile.

The cute Pochita might have just been the Chainsaw Devil's weakened form. Rereading the first chapter, Pochita was wounded (by a gunshot wound, foreshadowing?) so Denji offered him a contract by giving him his own blood so that Pochita would help him out. So that was the first contract and why Pochita hung out with Denji, and then Denji inadvertently made a second one by promising Pochita his corpse if he died.

So Pochita might just be an insanely strong devil that got attached to Denji because of a deal that he made when he was wounded and then just stuck around because he liked him. All his contract states is that Denji shows him his dreams which is pretty damn good terms for a contract.
