Not really. It had the same characters but changed their personalities and changed a lot of the events and results.
It maybe had 1/3 of it being similar at best which makes it hard to even view it as an adaptation.

It technically goes to 33, but it only follows a very rough outline of the events and both adds and removes a bunch of stuff. It's basically an entirely separate story and shouldn't be treated like an adaptation.
