Yeah it's true. If you let yourself get too caught up in trying to achieve your goals as fast and efficiently as possible you'll turn around at age 35 and realize that you've never had any real fun for your entire life because you were too busy working towards your goals.
It's something that I've really learned recently, I was too focused on progressing my career and saving for a house to the extent that I was willing to continue living with my mother for several more years despite being 24 years old already. I had been putting everything into studying and getting my degree so that I could finally work but then I realized that I've already missed so many opportunities to actually live my life because of it. Just living in my safe, sheltered existence never venturing out into the world.
Then I left home and moved in with friends and I've been having the time of my life. I still work and earn money, I still even save to own a house at some point but I've stopped letting it be my only goal in life. It might take a bit longer to get where I want to end up but I'm enjoying that time a lot more now.
