It had issues and it was fundamentally flawed as a DBZ attempt.
It failed at all the subtle things that made DBZ great while only copying the more obvious elements.
Personally I enjoyed GT and I think it's ok, not as bad as people make it out to be. But it's not good either.

GT was just bad simply because it went back to DB formula after DBZ. But now, with how absolutely fucking awful DBS is, I'd take GT and a ten inch cock both at the same time and still consider this a better option than trying to give DBS another chance. I cannot fucking fathom there are people who think Super has anything at all going for it, I'm getting angry about a fictional series I didn't care about for 20 years, simply because people are so happy eating shit.

It's worth watching on this basis alone. I have a hard time watching anything made in the past ten years because it's all too polished.
GT wasn't great, but I can see that people were happy to just continue the story.

Also, this leaves a vacuum that Goku left, which means DB will need a new MC. This can only be given to a more deserving character, and that character is Pan.
Pan is literately the only suitable character to take Goku's place.
