Boruto and his comrades are trying to interfere with the plans to use the cursed seal's power. Even though Boruto and Suigetsu are headed over to Juugo's location, they get ensnared by a trap and get put in a tough position! On the other hand, Sarada and Karin employ diversionary tactics to battle their enemy. In addition, Wasabi and Namida have gotten separated from Boruto and his comrades. They get rescued by Sumire, but an enemy that she had fought against just a few days ago has reappeared in front of her! In order to protect the two of them, Sumire battles alongside Nue.
EP#103: "Migration Season" (4/21 Broadcast)
Juugo is suffering from the effects of the drug that activates the power of the cursed seals. Somehow or another, Boruto and Suigetsu want to try and save him, but they are rendered unable to move because of being injected with a tranquilizer. Meanwhile, it's time for the migratory birds to set off. The birds that are harbouring the power of the cursed seal are getting ready to turn away and fly off to various places. Even though Boruto and his comrades are trying to hurry, there's just too many of them. And then finally, Juugo transforms into a complete monster.

EP#104: " A Small Co-Inhabitant" (4/28 Broadcast)
Boruto and his comrades of Team 7 are helping out on an arrest of an unidentified jewel thief. However, while in the midst of tracking down the thief, they almost completely lose sight of the criminal. But then, a cat appears in front of their eyes there. It's still so small, and the cat seems to be in a frightened state. After thinking it over for a bit, Team 7 member Mitsuki decides to raise and keep the cat. At first, Mitsuki doesn't know what to do. However, he eventually gives it a name and starts to take care of it in various ways.
EP#105: "Opening Emotional Scars" (5/5 Broadcast)
Mitsuki is complaining about the worsening condition of his body, and turns up at Orochimaru's research laboratory. Orochimaru and Mitsuki's sibling, Log, hear stories from Mitsuki in order to figure out the root cause of his worsening condition. According to Mitsuki's stories, whenever he used to fall asleep, he never had a 'Dream'. But lately, it seems as though he has started to 'Dream' quite often. After hearing the discussion, Orochimaru considers something: The experiences up until now seem to have left some sort of impression upon Mitsuki's heart and mind. Moreover, those influences appear to have even affected his body and health...!?

I loved naruto, and I like boruto, I'm caught up on the manga, but I dunno man, The first 15 episodes was only okay, Im excited for the sarada arc (the mini series manga), and for actual manga stuff to start happening like the exams and so on, but part of me just wants nothing to do with all this anime only shit, despite seeing shit like mitsuki sage mode and the recent jugo shit.

To answer your question, this arc is a lot worse even with Jugo. Anime is trying to establish a connection between Boruto and Jugo when they don't have much in common. Suigetsu and Karin showing up starting at 101 should make things slightly better, but I don't think it will be that good.
Sumire is garbage though. Had so much potential that was squandered because of status quo.
I'll go through the arcs in order for you.
You watched Nue arc, which was okay at best but served as an intro arc anyway.
Sarada arc was good but it was too short.
Next arc after that dragged out a lot, but it brought about worldbuilding for Kiri.
Then we get to the academy final exams, which was the best non-manga content yet imo.
Then they go on a stupid mission which is a pathetic imitation of Land of Waves.
The next arc after that is a pathetic imitation of Land of Waves as well. It's a Shikadai arc though so take it as you will.
Then we get to some SOL episodes involving the other characters.
Then we get a mini-arc that goes right into the Chunin Exam.
The Chunin Exam arc was better than the manga and the movie versions, but still pathetic compared to the Naruto exam. 65 is one of the best episodes of anything from Naruto and Boruto. A must watch for sure.
After that it is a Chocho mini-arc that is pretty bad.

After that is the Mitsuki/Iwagakure arc, which dragged out a lot, but it had a solid ending. It is notably darker than the past arcs.
Then we get a mini-arc based on Naruto Shinden Family Day, which is okay at best but skipped a lot of the best content from the novel.
We get a few SOL episodes after that for Shikadai and Namida.
The current arc we're in right now is pretty bland and boring, even with Jugo and Team 15.

my fave girl is the series is Sumire. I'm kinda sad to see how weak she is without having Nue by her side. I'm hoping that she'll get a major power-up (a.k.a train harder, learn more jutsus, & polish her skills) so that she's more competent in combat, without having to rely on Nue itself.

Based on what we've seen of Sumire's skillset, her power-up is most likely going to be fusing with the Nue and becoming a sort of psuedo Jinchuriki.
That sort of upgrade is something that would be way too OP at this point of the series. Hopefully she gets new Water Jutsus until then.

Having 2 hotheads in one team would be an absolute disaster in terms of strategy and team dynamic.
Jiraiya and Tsunade were both hotheads. Likewise with Naruto and Sakura.
Sakura was a medical ninja and calm unless she was supposed to be in combat. Tsunade was the same. Jiraiya was calm and calculated, and the best spy Konoha had to offer but could go all out if he had to and never did so without good reason.
Old Naruto can't keep his cool and just wants to beat everything up. Old Kiba can't keep his cool, gets mad over everything and just bashes into opponents.
They all grew into those roles though, didn't start out that way.
