I dont quite understand the epilogue of Rebellion, where Homura sits on the empty field, Kyubey comes at her, she beats him up, longingly stares into her Soul Gem and then lets herself fall of a building, does it even mean anything?

Half of her is gone my man. All she wanted was to make her best friend happy. The process to do so though forces her to hide part of her self.
Okay, even though I think you are a bit wrong on your interpretation (I dont think she did it to make Madoka happy, she did it for herself). It still doesnt explain the epilogue, what did it mean? Does Kyubey bear resentment for her? Why is she so captivated by her new soul gem?
She's fucked up and feels incomplete with the distance between her and Madoka. The dancing around I think is because despite that, she was still successful in her mission - really, this is the first time that she actually accomplished her original wish of wanting to protect Madoka.
The falling off the cliff is, I think, another part of the omnipresent suicide imagery surrounding Homura in this movie. She has issues.
There's a few theories about what happened to QB, but recall in the scene where she's rewriting the universe, Homura says to him "someone will be needed to handle all the curses" or something like that, so the implication seems to be that he's being used as a grief dump to lessen the burden on other magical girls. He doesn't seem to be enjoying the experience.
>longingly stares into her Soul Gem and then lets herself fall of a building
Homura started as a shy weak girl with selfsteem issues, then spent between 4-10 times reliving the same month in which she saw her only friends (or whatever she considered them) dying before failing to save her waifu from dying/becoming a witch, then on the last iteration meduka became goduca and nothing bad happened, but meduka left the world and she couldn’t be with her, then, although the new meguca system is better, everyone but her has forgotten about meduka and what happened, then QB betrays her after she confided him with all this info because the damn cats wanted more energon, trapping her (or she did it herself, or maybe both) in a false world while she was on a permanent state of “almost-becoming-a-witch”, which served as a trap by the cats to bait goduka into their control, then goduka and her divine secretaries swoop in to save her, but goduka lost her memories, and they spend some time doing meguca shit...then Homura misunderstands the talk she had with an amnesiac goduka, then she discovers they’re inside a witch barrier, then she discovers she’s the witch, then QB tells her about their plans, then she indeed becomes a witch, then the megucas save her, but at this point she has already made her choice to save meduka from suffering. And for her, that means stripping meduka from her goduka being, resetting the universe so that there won’t be more megucas, the evil cats will now be the source of energon (maybe), and meduka will have a normal life. But, this means Homura still can’t be with her waifu, she occasionally gets shit from the people she “saved”, nobody remembers her , and even though she knows that this is futile and that one day meduka will regain what she took from her and will become her enemy, she doesn’t care, because she will be there to stop meduka from being suffering, whether she wants it or not.
tl;dr Homura is crazy
Thanks for the summary but that didnt answer any of my questions in the least.
Except for that Homu is crazy, but that I know already.
Also she repeated the month a lot more than 10 times, at least a hundred.
Okay, your questions.
>Homura sits on the empty field
Homuhomu sitting on a chair on the field represents her life with teh meguka. Half of the field is gone, there is a chair missing, half of the fucking moon is gone, make of that what you will.
>Kyubey comes at her, she beats him up
After all the shit QB pulled, it/they deserve a good beating. And remember what Homucifer told QB, that they would be necessary for her new world order. I guess that means that the beating had a purpose other than a mere comeuppance.
>longingly stares into her Soul Gem
Probably nothing.
>and then lets herself fall of a building
It wasn’t a building. Also, she also wants and believes she deserves to die. She’s crazy. And of course the fall won’t even kill her.
>does it mean anything
Not really.
Oh good. Finally a Madoka thread. Time to post some MagiReco.
The scene is just meant to show that Homura is still miserable. She wants to be happy now that Madoka is finally "safe", but she's lonely and feels guilty for betraying her.
>Why is she so captivated by her new soul gem?
It's a reminder of her love for Madoka. The real Madoka is creeped out by her, so her love-tainted soul gem is all she's got.
