Emma’s solution won’t work either. We’ve already seen what happens when you free a demon from the need to eat humans with Sonju. He only uses this to try to bring about a future where he can hunt, kill, and eat humans for pleasure. The only reason he isn’t eating them now is he wants to eat more of higher quality later. Even if you free them of the need to eat humans, they still have a desire at their very genetic level to consume other life forms of higher intelligence and absorb their intelligence. This is how they evolve. Their eating humans is their highest goal and pleasure like sex humans for humans. Even the children and families in the village that are supposedly innocent carry around bottled babies to eat.
The mangaka constructed possibly the most genocidable evil beings you can create and still so many readers advocate for the value of demon life. If aliens ever come to this planet we’re fucked. Opposing them will be discriminatory and being biased toward human life will be viewed as archaic bigotry. Maybe we deserve what’s coming.
