>Cards very overpowered in the anime
>giant burden in the game
Cards very overpowered in the anime
now post the fake cards from china
>not playing Horactie Turbo
Enjoy your loses famalam
To this day I don't understand the decision to make the most famous anime cards NOT playable when the game's fame was at its peak and every kid played it.
Of course, now they have playable OP versions and a ton of support so you can make decks about them... but the kids who cared about the Egyptian Gods and nostalfags are probably alienated enough to not play this game anymore.
About the anime though I like to believe the 3 together are as strong as Exodia.
No one in the anime even knows how to play the game.
>plays 1350 ATK monster with no effect in attack mode
i remember as a kid i had like tons of yugioh carts but didn't know how to play so i invented my rules and stuff
that's what the show did too desu
I don't get why they nerfed the cards so hard. At least give them decent protection.
Obelisk actually saw a bit of tournament play with some OTK combos
>implying we didn't just play with the fake cards
obelisk is a go-win on duel links thats for sure
I'm no YGO autist but from what I understand the main reason they suck is the three sacrifices necessary which makes them shit in a meta where you just shit out monsters constantly. Worst of all is their lack of effect immunity from the anime so some fucking man-eating bug can just destroy them anyway. The reason Obelisk is at least kind of viable is because he has a limited version of that immunity as well as being a flat 4K monster.
i can summon any of them in 3 turns with my deck you are just a shit player HAHA
Why would Konami give a shit if 6 year olds could actually play the game?
In lore too no one should be able to play the god card. At least it's a little bit represented by splitting the protection to the "Mound of the Bound Creator", faithful to the lore that the card allows you to use the god card. Still shit though.
the God cards come from the manga and were mostly plot points, Takahashi never intended them to be used in a real card game, they aren't weak because they were designed that way, they are weak because they weren't designed for a real game at all, this is common with DM manga/anime cards, they are either unusable trash or stupidly broken, so translating them to the real game implies a lot of changes and they were printed in a time in which not a lot of monsters had protection, the 3 Tributes which sounded cool in the anime and manga is a heavy cost for just mediocre beatsticks in the case of Ra and Osiris, Obelisk is unironically the best one because of his fixed attack value and the targeting protection
I sold fake cards to kids for like $10 a pop. Good times.
And then I as your opponent can also get rid of them on that same turn and then laugh at you for use them.
Their real weakness is their lack of decent support. They only have two decent cards to back them up and are just too big a liability to run in decks that can shit them out easy. The monsters themselves are still solid enough that it wouldn't be impossible for them to get some play with some love from Konami, otherwise their only relevance will forever be Sphere Mode being a potential side for shit like Guardragons and Danger Thunders that blow their load Turn 1 in making massive boards littered with negates.
If they had the same or similar sorts of protection and effects they had in the anime/manga they would be pretty decent today probably.
Isn't it possible to Soul Charge the EGs and then get out Horactie?
You could do it for Slifer and Obelisk but you need some other way to get Ra out.
lmao this.
back on the day everyone played with fake cards and that was a good thing.
good memories.
Forbidden memories is how you play the game
>tfw my Yugioh group all had fake God cards
>tfw we used the show rules
>tfw we all agreed that our fake Ra cards were the fakes that Marik and the Rare Hunters had made, and we extended that to Obelisk and Slifer
I'm not sure if it was roleplaying or not but that was something that just strengthened our love of the game. Because we had something in the tv show that we were able to use to enhance our gameplay.
They should create another trio Divine Beast
This did, it was Odin, Thor and Loki in 5D's.
yeah, but
>Synchro monster
>not tributes 3 monster
>not actualy hot shit in they arc
yeah no, get that gay shit out of here
>be yuropoor in gradeschool
>all our cards were English
>literally misread half the effects
>somehow thought Messenger of Peace meant only the enemy cant attack and you only had to pay 100 lifepoints ONCE
We have Uria, Hamon and Raviel as a 2nd trio and then the 3 Wicked Gods as well
not Divine Beast
>can draw 5 cards every turn if your hand is shit
The term for those in MTG is 'Timmy cards'
There were no official rules in universe. Kiaba made up rules for his tournament.
So what?
I started this way for the most part, then I learned the proper rules from the GBA games.
Reminder that Marik was the worst duelist in the series and almost lost to fucking Joey
