Underrated

It felt like a cheap knockoff/derivative of Ashita no Joe. The only really distinctive thing (the metal gear thing) was tacked on and essentially pointless. Still pretty okay, a solid 6.

Because it was a pointless fucking abortion that completely missed the appeal of the original, then shit itself and died in the final episode. For a show that's nominally supposed to be about boxing, it never seemed to give a fuck about doing a decent fight.

Goblin Slayer is fine, the anime on the other hand is pure low budget CG garbage.

Because it's alll style no substance. It's essentially just an ad for Ashita no Joe, but it fails at explaining why Joe is awesome. Yabuki Joe had real consequences, strategy, planning. Where's fucking cross counter, where's bouncing on the ropes, where uppercut spam (by Yuri)? Every fight in it can be boiled down to

Yabuki Joe also had a fucking personality, but they were too afraid people might dislike him so they stripped away everything that made him interesting and produced a lifeless generic husk of a main character

That too, I loved how Joe was treated like a bum shithead but he was actually incredibly perceptive, he just wasn't educated to express it well enough. When he criticized Yoko for casting herself in the play she did for the boys in juvie I genuinely had same reaction, what kind of person would unironically cast themself in a role like that?

It was pretty fucking shit, the fights were very dissapointing in pretty much every aspect, the final fight being by far the worst offender.

Because it was trash and an insult to AnJ.

The only cool thing about the show is that promotional poster. literally everything else is utter trash.
I've yet to see a single thing that impressed me about it, and I'm pretty open minded about anime. I sat through eromanga sensei as a celfag.
In regards to the oldschool style as ell. gridman did a much better job nailing down an oldschool style, with 9-5 layers of shading, blackshading and actually nice designs, animation and directing in comparison.

I thought it was pretty good. A collection of well executed tropes made for a very enjoyable experience.

Not as good as AnJ, even the animation is worse. AnJ1&2 sold the punches way better.

Because it sarted strong and then burned out into something disappointing. and the final fight was disappointing as fuck. It's Joe vs what is essentially a second crippled man and he still spends most of the fight losing. And then despite all the hinting at it all season and the ending of source material they both survive in the end.

It was alright, not great tbut good. A solid 7/10. Y'all haters.

man you guys are fucking brainlets, the majority of junkdogs fights are all won on a mental level, he doesn't win by pure boxing fundamentals because the anime isn't about that. He beats them by dismantling their character flaws and using it against them.

Because every fight was fucking trash. Other boxers kept dropping like flies once our main man landed a punch or two on them.

The arms aren't purely an advantage, the show goes over that if you paid attention.

Dropped it as soon as they started focusing on the 1 legged guy. Was going to drop it when they started elaborating on the kid's backstory but I stayed in good faith. Show's pacing is garbage.
