Kimetsubros, what do you think about the first episode? Did it meet your expectation? Is there anything you don't like?
Personally, I really like it. The visual is really impressing (though it may not mean much consider that I know fuck all about animation). They manage to produce something that looks really clean and polished, but still retains the manga's unique art style. Character designs are on point. The water breath styles in the OP actually made me hard.
I like Tanjirou's VA more than I expected. I thought his voice in the first PV is really whiny, but he sounds really good in this first episode: warm and mature just like I imagine for Tanjirou. UglyandGuy's voice is also pure sex.
Samething for soundtrack. The track in the first PV is really pretentious and does not fit Kimetsu's traditional Japan setting (even though I like Yuki Kajiura). The tracks in the actual episode, however, are quite good and fitting. I quite like the eerie theme.
Overall I'm really happy with how this adaptation has turned out (so far). Hopefully they can keep up this quality for the rest of the anime
There is not as much shitposting as I feared too. Maybe Kimetsu is just too tame for shitposters to latch on.

i really think it did the manga justice. cleaned up some of the art and made it more emotional. there was a lot of talking in the episode but it wasn't overkill or anything.

I would actually love this. It's about time Kanao got some development. One thing I don't like about the manga is that it's basically non-stop action, so there is little time to develop characters if they're not involved in the fight. This is the first time I actually wish for a 'filler' arc to give the manga for breathing room.

it ends at the end of chapter 9, which teases the start of the mission. The actual fight is chapters 10-12, with a little bit at the beginning of chapter 13. I could see them compressing the fight into an episode, but given previous comments I'm going to guess they give it 2 episodes.
