Hellsing is dumb, and it knows it's dumb, and that's why it's fun as fuck to watch. It's very clearly taking the piss, but it commits super hard, and that's what makes it good.

no. it's edge kino with solid animation and a god tier dub. I can't think of a better anime in terms of pure ridiculous characters and ultraviolence, and it only keeps one upping itself as the episodes go on with a great finale.

Original has better music and atmosphere but weak story halfway through, but Ultimate has better animation and an actual ending to the plot. Personally, I enjoy both for different reasons.

Anyone who tries to say it it's wrong to like Hellsing most likely a faggot from Yea Forums who still thinks Coldsteel and katana trench coat memes are funny. Hellsing will always be a beloved staple of the late 90's and Madhouse brought their A game (for the most part at least) doing it justice.

I liked it for how over the top it was and for how it had way better art than the original anime did. Plus, you know, having an actual ending unlike the original anime.
I do, however, think that sometimes Hirano's tendency for comedic moments ruins the tension in some of the series scenes .

Seras is a major focus in either version, since she becomes Hellsing's major fighter when Alucard's MIA for 30 years. It also shows how she retains more of her humanity as a vampire than Alucard ever did.

It's edgy garbage, but it's honestly one of the best of its caliber, and it's clear that it was made with a certain glee and indulgence that you don't find elsewhere. The literal only part of the series that I outright disliked was Alucard coming back at the very, very end. I feel like if he actually died, all of the elements of the story and characters fit together perfectly. But since he returned, it just kinda blunts the end of this razor sharp story of massacres and bloodshed.
