Kaguya sama

What went so horribly wrong in both anime and the manga?
I think it peaked during the first chapter

OP is always a faggot.

The first chapter is kinda where it went to shit.
The pilot was better.

The premise is just boring and contrived. The character designs are pretty shit too so you can't even watch it for the cute girls. Overall, nothing went right.

Interesting , interesting, there's also the fact that it's Reddit: the anime

>implying it wasn't downhill after the third page
The author is hack and ruined the characters after that.

>you witnessed Kaguya go from an obscure episodical romcom, to becoming a huge franchise that Yea Forums newfags rag on to fit in
I should be sad, but I've already had this happen with other things I liked, so it's fine.

Attached: 1515564899398.jpg (1280x720, 88K)

This basically, the plot just feel forced and nothing interesting or funny ever happens

I rather they shit on it and lose interest honestly.

This.

Imagine letting your tastes be swayed by what reddit likes or doesn't like.
Kaguya was popular on Yea Forums from basically the start, but I guess you spent your time on reddit back then and wouldn't know.

>Kaguya was popular on Yea Forums from basically the start
Never imagined that kaguyafags are liers

will this manga pass out one piece in length

Check the archives and you'll see threads from chapter 1, newfag.

I said "basically".
Not literally the start, but relatively early on. How often does a weekly manga (especially a non WSJ one) have active weekly threads within the first 20 chapters?

And a simple search will show it was on Reddit too

Based Kaguya.

Imagine being so new you can't remember the IB threads.

I said chapter 1, not episode 1, dumbass. Because reddit only started to give a fuck about Kaguya way after that, probably around the fireworks arc, which is chapter 45.

And I meant chapter 1 you shithead, look it up

Reddit search is retarded, but I honestly can't find one. Meanwhile finding an Yea Forums one was easy, even from before someone translated it because people already knew Aka from IB.
It's also about relative popularity. Reddit has discussion threads for a lot of series daily, but the vast majority get around 10 comments. Meanwhile Yea Forums has fewer separate manga threads and Kaguya threads had 100s of replies from within the first 20 chapters, maybe even first 10.

>Nobody is allowed to like it because I didn't.
>Why are people praising this?
I have the same issues with Mob and OPM that you have with Kaguya, you don't see me shitposting in their threads. Why does it bother you so much that people like this?

It sneakily "forgot" that it started out as a manga about two uppity fucks too proud to confess to each other and changed into two dorks too socially retarded to do that. Probably because the former would've been harder to write or wouldn't be as mass appealing, but in the end it did dumb down to appeal to masses.

It went downhill ever since Iceguya appeared.

>The sharpest, funniest rom-com books running today
-Polygon

Tell me about this show Yea Forums, why do websites like reddit and polygon like it so much? There must be something about it which appeals to this peculiar sort of people.

>caring this much about reddit while denying that you use it
how is user such a literal tsundere faggot

>I think it peaked during the first chapter
The OP is obviously bait, even a joke about the usual >what went wrong threads
Why are you replying seriously?

>>Nobody is allowed to like it because I didn't.
>>Why are people praising this?
Dude I never said that, just read what I said before FUCKING REPLYING

Which was 3 chapters ago, and last three chapters aren't even bad. Nice argument.

have you actually read it?

And how exactly do you know that?
I couldn't find a thread in the first two pages of results.

I'm asking you to explain to me why this show is popular among demographics that frequent reddit and polygon.

Because it's good, and doesn't have anything that would scare off normalfags so it appeals to everybody

>It was on Reddit
>"NO IT WASN'T"
>a simple search would show you otherwise
>"H-HAHA you browse Reddit !!"
no.
I just searched on a hidden search engine called Google.
Also, very shitty way to move goalpost.

Next thing you know it will be 100 chapters ago.

Probably because of gender equality

>it's good

Attached: 1552846294185.gif (389x279, 2.27M)

So three chapters ago? Second ice chapter was weak, but first was fine and latest was good. Most of the frustration is just because of the weekly wait when people want to see them as a proper couple immediately, and the author literally tells people who want more serious chapters to put the manga down for a volume.

Attached: 1553208871895.jpg (683x733, 101K)

Please post the thread because like I said I couldn't find it and I'm otherwise going to think you confused the original manga chapter 1 for a thread on something more recent like the spinoff or official coloured manga, which DO show up immediately on results.

just googled it

the first two results are for the first chapter of 'WE WANT TO TALK ABOUT Kaguya', the spinoff, and the second one is coloured scans of the chapter, both posted last year.

So no, it's not a simple google search, tsundere.

People found out that 5toubun is straight up better and raised their standards.

is this real

>5toubun is straight up better
Come on. Not even 5toubun fans believe that.

This

5toubun is 'apparently' a good harem thing. But it's still a harem thing, which makes inherently shittier.

Because it has a wide appeal to all sorts of people and nothing difficult to understand/no entry barrier.
Could you please explain to me why it matters or why you actively seek out what reddit and polygon like?

Yes, it's from the most recent volume extras immediately after chapter 136 iirc.
5toubun being a harem series automatically disqualifies it from being better.

Because I was in those threads. Are you even trying ?
boards.fireden.net/a/thread/133909454/

Author went for romance instead of initial premise of "battle of wits"

Unironically this.

No, he went for comedy from chapter 1, the "battle of wits" was never supposed to be anything else than a joke.

>harem anime is bad
>>>/reddit/

Sorry didn't mean to reply to you, meant for , I'm arguing the same point as you.

Does reddit represent everything you don't agree with now?

>implying reddit doesn't love harem series

Reddit are the biggest haremfags, so you couldn't be more wrong.

>now
Calling something >reddit has been used like that for half of Yea Forums since at least 2014. The other half uses >dumblr

yeah I think Im more just happy that it was able to be that big a deal.

I got a good anime adaptation with a very likley sequel, the manga is pretty much in its peak, we got tones of fanart and porn of the series, hell even the slight annoyance of fujiwara getting weirdly popular got offset in the end by people gravitating towards kaguya and hayasaka fairly overwhelmingly.

All we need is a s2 to see the miko hatefags getting blown out by her getting popular.

When did Yea Forums turn into Yea Forums and Yea Forums?

>Newfag doesnt realize haremshit is a nearly dead normie genre thats almost only popular on reddit

not only is that so recent, the newest chapter pretty much redeemed everything about it and then some.

its not like it ruined anything, ive never seen a series so blatantly say it was gonna goof around for a tad bit before getting serious again, these recent chapters have very much been funny and could only be done now before they are official.

>haremshit is a nearly dead [stuff] genre

You have to go back.

It's not really surprising that she got popular. Aka himself said she was the main heroine. She only got slightly less popular in the manga since anons had fun joining the bandwagon of the characters bullying her.

>only be done now before they are official.
This, people saying there's no progress on the relationship or Aka's undoing development must just mean the story didn't immediately give them what they thought they were getting because this is still new territory (and we know we'll get more progress on their relationship at the end of the 3 day countdown).
leddit

wow awesome bro badass xD

>Still feel empty from finishing IB right before Kaguya chapter 1 released
>Feel disappointed that it's not as good as IB
>he somehow makes it work and its the most popular romcom on the market
I love Aka. But ever since I read his final piece of writing about IB, I'll be waiting for him to redux The Unkind Wish to Be Kind, so that way I know he's finally been allowed to finish it all.

Absolutely nothing.

It became redditcore so Yea Forums hates it now.

>I have the same issues with Mob and OPM that you have with Kaguya
What in the world does Kaguya have to do with either of those shows?

it always had cancerous subreddits (generals) here, don't lie retard
unless you are a newfag

The curse of having a decent manga adaptation.
>generals
He's wrong too, but Kaguya never had generals until the anime, just a 2-3 threads a week for chapter release and sometimes spoilers.

The fact you would even know about these subreddits and the fact they're apparently cancerous gives away your origins.

He probably means that they're popular/"normie"/>reddit

the election

I usually fall asleep watching or reading romcoms.

And yet every episode made me laugh and I ended up liking pretty much every relevant character.

So Honestly you just suck dick tbfh

Why did people respond at all to this shit bait thread. Just let it die

Attached: sigh.png (290x198, 15K)

obviously know them since we have so many here you retarded cunt

Author consistently went for "battle of wits" angle for more than tens of chapters and even tried to reestablish that battle after the first drop to straight love comedy.
It is a joke, but "battle of wits" comedy is different from plain old love comedy. Basically this:

>talking about Reddit
Yikes

Leddit

this. i made a thread about it yesterday and everyone just dismissed it as "character development".

Not to mention it kicked Kaguya's arse in anime sales.

The "r" website?

You were just as wrong yesterday as you are today.

Pretty sure I remember a Q and A page where the author acknowledged the "geniuses war of love and brains" sub title was misleading and apologised
Anybody know where it was? Did I just imagine it?
The series did shift away from the premise, but why is this automatically a bad thing? If it'd stuck to them playing mindgames with eachother, they could never have developed as characters.
Also, the mindgames aspect was played down very early on and the first 20 chapters where they were more present are pretty much universally thought to be the weakest part of the manga.

>dismissed it as "character development"
>dismissed
Why is it so hard for you to admit that you were wrong?

because even the author acknowledged i'm right you coping tard

I have no idea what the hell you're talking about. And even if he told me that his pet hamster is writing the manga for him, it doesn't change the fact that it works. You're not talking common sense, you're spouting shit that no one else agrees with, why can't you see that?

I'm not the user you two are responding to, but:
reddit DOT com SLASH r/manga/comments/3u1c9w/disc_kaguya_wants_to_be_confessed_to_the_geniuses

What about the "today's victor" summary at the end of each chapter if title was misleading from the very beginning (as opposed to shift away from the premise)?

>The series did shift away from the premise, but why is this automatically a bad thing?
Nothing at all by itself, but premise worked better - at least for me.

Thanks, my mistake was searching for "chapter" 1
>15 comments
Doesn't exactly help prove his point though. The Yea Forums threads were more relatively popular from the start, probably of IB. From what I've seen, pretty much any chapter 1 posted there can get that many comments.

more people have agreed in this thread than disagreed

Who? The bottom of the barrel shitposters yelling about reddit? Or the other thirty people who didn't take part in this discussion at all?

The chapters since the kiss have all been complete shit tier. I thought Aka was a smarter writer than this but instead of building off this huge moment he's done nothing but spin the wheels. It's so fucking boring to read, and honestly ruins the characters.
Kaguya and Shirogane are the biggest ones hurt by this. Shirogane is now a pussywhipped typical beta male protagonist and Kaguya is now being portrayed as LITERALLY insane and with multiple personality disorder. They barely feel like real people any more. It's a damn shame.

This has already been discussed to death. Unless you're a retarded speedreader, I don't know how you could possibly see this as being out of character for anyone. Did you expect Aka to sweep the characters' insecurities under the rug and have them be lovey dovey immediately? That would have been even more out of character. I'm glad you're not in charge of this manga.

I don't see a problem

Attached: 1554581154878.jpg (335x519, 48K)

>He's still forcing the "multiple personality disorder" bullshit even though it was debunked multiple times in the manga
You're not just a retarded speedreader, you're illiterate.

>im a hack and ive painted myself in a corner so ill just drag the series until everyone forget about the dual confession
because i dont know how to deal with the aftermath

no wonder the series went shit since iceguya appeared

Kill yourself you retarded ESL. Let this shitty thread die.

This so much. The only reason why the latest chapter was somewhat okay because the other characters carried the chapter. Kaguya and Prez character got ruined ever since Iceguya appeared.

>What about the "today's victor" summary at the end of each chapter
They've been a running gag for the longest time. Think how plenty of times, the winners aren't even Shirogane or Kaguya.
And even lately the chapters results are to mean whatever. Think how Kaguya has been losing lately, even though they aren't playing at anything right now.

Hayasaka will lose because she has irish blood

I dropped it at ep. 6
You have to be either a waifufag or under 20 to like it.

I've come to understand this as being an quintessential part of Yea Forums, and the people who post here.
I think part of the reason is the tendency to (bad) contrarianism and hating things that are popular with normalfags, and part is a consequence of a bunch of unoriginal retards shitting up threads with boring, repetitive posts because they're incapable of doing anything other than mimic posts that were funny the first time around. The latter makes some people who originally like the manga/anime (and poser newfags) despise it as a topic, actual readers because they hate the subhuman-IQ-level "people" who make up a part of the group of the audience who consume it. Newfags, however, just act like everything that's become popular is reddit.

On topic though, I think the adaptation was pretty good. I'm taking a break from the manga for a while so I can get a more objective perspective on how it's been since the cultural festival, rather than follow scanlation threads as they come. I read Nisekoi that way, and feel like my perspective on it after the fact is a little more grounded because of it.

mc is kinda extremely stupid to everything but funny moments
prez is extremely structured
chika, ishigami an hayasaka are pilar to story or it would be horrible

This
I'll take one million bad threads if my man Aka can keep his money

yep

Attached: hank_jpg-magnum.jpg (1280x1707, 147K)

Personally, I like the whole deal with Iceguya.
As amazing and fulfilling as the Cultural Festival arc was, especially the Dual Confessions chapters, you could tell there were several issues Shirogane and Kaguya conveniently overlooked because of the moment. In Kaguya's case she overlooked that going with Shirogane to the US was never going to be an easy task, and Shirogane took Kaguya's accepting his proposal as an excuse to delay his love confession. There's still the fact that both of them are young and inexperienced in love, and as a result are insecure about far too many things.
Iceguya is a result of all that. As soon as she sobered up the reality about her promise to Shirogane hit her on the face, and in addition to that, Hayasaka's words hit on her insecurities. Iceguya is also a result of both of them not coming clean with each other.

So, the whole thing is a setup so that they can get over their insecurities, become honest with each other, and start something real. This is good development. In fact, if things go nicely, the payoff once they decide to get over their issues will be superb. Hopefully, we'll see that occur during Christmas,

Skipping important Chika Chapters

Not including punchlines from the manga like what happened to Chika after she left the ramen joint.

Attached: 1553409725591.png (835x1250, 293K)

Because Kaguya sees a fake President who has no idea he has so many hidden weaknesses that only Chika gets to see.

Similarly, President sees only the ideal side of Kaguya that only her maid mainly sees.

Would Chika really be friends with Kaguya if Chika possessed the ability to hear Kaguya's inner thoughts?

Kaguya did get to see Shirogane at his worst recently, and liked the hardworking aspect of him (which she always did).
As for Shirogane, he's got to see plenty of different sides to Kaguya.

They definitely haven't seen all of each other, but their knowledge of one another is certainly not limited to just the ideal selves.

If you didn't speedread you'd know that usually the 'winner' is the one who ends up the most embarrassed. You realize that the war thing is nothing but a funny joke early in the story.

Children on Yea Forums need to realize that if you're going to be a contrarian hipster, just accomplish that by liking things that most people dislike instead of hating things most people like. The latter just makes you look like a newfag when you go around flailing about how anything popular is suddenly reddit.

Just finished the anime and I thought it was great. Genuinely made me laugh many times throughout. Kaguya is CUTE as fuck and Shirogane is BASED.

the peak mentality of a spoiled speedreader.

you know i notice something. right when aka introduce ice-guya by showing her in the "10 questions" chapter, people wanted to know MORE about her.
heh... what a stark difference of how people view ice-guya now. welp, aka just gave you what you wanted, and NOW most of you whine about bringing bakaguya back.

Memes don't make an anime good.

In all fairness, current Iceguya is very different from how she used to be (or from what we've looked in the flashbacks). Back then, Kaguya didn't associate herself with anyone, and avoided any unnecessary interaction.
Iceguya, right now, interacts with people almost normally, to the point Chika and Ishigami haven't even noticed the change (other than the fact that she's wearing he hair down), and she's clearly got her mind filled with trying to get Shirogane to kiss her.

Wow OP sucking that much dick isn't healthy for you

>Everything I don't like is reddit
You're trying so hard

Reddit likes everything maybe you should just stop living

I'm the reason Kaguya's thread (and all other popular anime adaptation thread go to shit).
I post meme comments on reddit to get upvotes.
I shitpost on Yea Forums to get (you).

I'm in the very kaguya thread in the archive and I dropped the manga 3 chapters in for giving me inescapable nisekoi vibes.
It's a hack manga in the most literal meaning of the word. Bespoke.

I miss the comfy, little threads of early kaguya so much

i thought it was pretty funny and watched it in one sitting
i liked that it wasnt the typical romcom and the animation was nice too

That's true of 4chins in general and always has been, it's inherently counter-cultural in identity, in as much as it has one.
