Akane > kagome

Did anyone say it was?

until Overlord.

There's been plenty of good isekai series, just none of them happen to be from the last few years.

then it became horrible

cute dog

was inuyasha the first true isekai?

Suck my dick retard.

ainz is unironically the worst character in his own show

Yes.

But you just posted proof that it was.

IY is 75% filler nonsense

The anime, sure. But the manga is merely 60% filler. And the good parts are good isekai.

There's been tons of isekai before Inuyasha.

And animation, premise, characters, and designs.
Escaflowne is only topped by Wataru as far as isekai goes.

Isekai used to be better.

That is, until SAO came out.

Kikyo > Sango >>>>>>> all

it's only good when it's made fun of. like Konosoba.

Why is Mio best girl by such a far margin?

Attached: 123976987986987.png (1080x1536, 588K)

Escaflowne

SAO managed to bring a genre to ruins despite not even being part of it. Truly a testament of the impact it left on the medium.

Short hair with visible nape
Cute hairband
Stylish kimono
thin lipstick
gloves
Spider motif

Spider girls makes the best GF's, too bad there's a severe lack of isekai spider girls.

Is Inuyasha really isekai? I always figured it was just a time-travel story, since it's not like they are travelling to different world, just past of the normal one.

Why did this anime have such amazing music? I still enjoy listening to it.

There is functionally no difference

main character gets cheat power, so yes.

If that were a normal time travel story, kagome shouldn't have acquired any special power.

*blocks your path*

Kikyo = Sango = Rin >>>>>> all

In the nip wiki it's listed as "shounen manga" (of course), "action", and "fantasy battle manga". It doesn't even mention time travel.

>Kikyo
>better than literally anyone

It's alternate history dumbass. The story doesnt have kagome whip out a gun and shoot naraku. You understand what story genres are, right? It's not a setting. It a type of story.

yikes, autism

Attached: 02.png (1222x821, 558K)

That's a demographic not a genre.

Yea Forums doesn't know how to read.

Inuyasha is Shoujo not Shounen

Wrong sport.

how the fuck we use this text and image based board then, retard.

Behold, the only good isekai.

Kikyo is the best character overall
Sango is best for breeding
Rin is just a cute kid

imagine Kagome with a gun

You write your own meaning and screech when a meme calls out your learning impairment.

Overlord anime is shit senpai, the only isekais I found good were Re Zero and Accel world

I translated what was written in the genre section. Only "shounen" is the demographic by the way.

Japan has gun control. But maybe rubber bullets could be purified?

Can you use wind hole as onahole?

i could never enjoy inuyasha because of kagome, doing a bit of linguistic gymnastics in spanish, it roughly translate as 'shitting' therefore, inuyasha is shit

Do you know what a genre is?

Does Accel World count, since the entire populous of the 'other world' are other people who can travel to and from the regular world?

It a story genre not a character genre.

That's not an element of the story? I mean it defines the setting.

Any Isekai that takes itself even REMOTELY seriously is bad. Yes, your favorite Isekai is bad, yes Overlord does take itself seriously. Having comic relief doesn't mean it doesn't take itself seriously, the premise is still played straight.

I think the problem is that the characters take themselves too seriously while what REALLY needs to be taken seriously is the world itself.
A common mistake in isekai today is the main character being some kind of a saint in the world where he should be constantly getting his ass kicked for not belonging and obviously making constant mistakes because of that.
Instead the MC not only fits too quickly but is also a Gary Stu of the highest calibur and everyone wants to either ride his dick or be him.

Nip wiki doesn't know.

Attached: 4.png (394x128, 20K)

incorrect

That's called missing the forest for the trees.

Who's doing the comprehension? You or the wiki?

I wrote in the previous post that only "shounen" is the demographic, so yes, I do know. In the first post I simply reported what was written in the wiki.

Attached: 1500559178046.jpg (225x350, 30K)

It was good. Since things like SAO it's been routinely shit.

Attached: Digimon.Adventure.full.503668.jpg (1899x800, 420K)

It's not as far a margin as it would be in something else, because Tomoe and a few others are great too. Mio is still best though.

The only thing that would make her body better would be smaller breasts.

Attached: mio.jpg (803x1146, 144K)

Oh boy, still waiting for that second season.

It's the perfect size, you dolt.

I'll bet my entire life to protect it.

Kikyo was just too unlucky to pick a incompetent faggot like that. An usual current isekai protag would easily save her.

But is a power she could have acquired anyway, as she is able to use it in her own world as well. Traveling merely awakened that power she always could have had as part of her family line. She didn't gain that power from the Isekai world itself giving it to her.

Also in most isekai the MC uses their real world knowledge/skills to somehow abuse the system and have an advantage over all the inhabitants who have lived there for years. She doesn't really do this.

It upsets me just how little Isekai there are with actual mecha in them. Guymelef's were cool as fuck.

Not true isekai because Kagome goes back and forth.

The REAL OG isekai is Zero no Tsukaima

I WANT TO

How is that isekai?

This guy gets it.

I would throat Inuyashas giant half demon dick in a heartbeat

ZnT is technically battle harem, or at least ahead of its time.

CHANGE THE WORLD

Kagome's biggest sin I think is just being so fucking uselss in a setup where she's canonically a strong character and only needs to practice her powers more to really get good.
She never does.
Ever.
She just keeps needing be saved. For 500 fucking chapters.

What does Baked Dirt Kikyo Pussy feel like?

How is its poison works again?

Attached: 1554339997797.jpg (900x1200, 108K)

FUCKING BEES

Bad, but not as bad as Kagome's

That actually explains exactly why.
Women dont understand the necessity of power and being powerful, because ultimately it has always been a man's job to do the fighting. Rumiko has characters like Sango and Kikyo who embrace their strengths and are fighters, but Kikyo in her characterization only wanted to be a normal woman and Sango eventually becomes a housewife. They dont have an actual need and interest in being strong, because they ultimately dont care about that.

It just works

Even if kagome went to narnia, it wouldn't be isekai. It's not a setting, it's a story genre. At best. The Inuyasha movies 1 and 2 are isekai because Kagome's otherworldness is driving and resolving the plot. In the series, kagome is just the starting catalyst that is along for the ride.
It always bugged me that there were only like 3 episodes set in the present.

The poison is partially made up of tachyonic matter that when the rest of its material is affected by an event horizon releases itself back out of the event horizon as ionizing radiation.

That actually makes them good characters, specially Sango, who will go in arms if time requires it

How is Inuyasha isekai, though.

Kagome is for rape until she reaches mind break then passing her off to the rest of the bandits after she doesn't even scream anymore.

how can isekai be killed or at least lose popularity?

By making something more popular.

Kagome is for being tied up in the equipmemt closet then having the entire track team run a train on her.

TIL John Blackthorne is an isekai protagonist.

How much less popular do you want it to be? There's barely an isekai show every season and sometimes not even one.

Make isekai into reality

We can't do nothing but wait till Kadokawa releases two/three isekais with same characteristics in the same season just lke what happened to battle harems

Kikyo and Sango are good characters, I didnt say they arent.
Kagome however is a bad character because she needed to realize the necessity of being more powerful for the sake of her quest and the people she's with, and yet she didnt, instead she just went along with the journey and we never see her even consider training.

If there's a story in which an astronaut gets stranded on a planet with other life forms, is it an isekai?
If you've got the same story but the astronaut got sucked into a weird space "magic" anomaly and ends up in another world, is it isekai then?

How different does a world need to be for something to be qualified as isekai? What if the worlds are strikingly similar with only small differences, but are distinct world from each other?

>If there's a story in which an astronaut gets stranded on a planet with other life forms, is it an isekai?

Men have power. Women have dominion. King Arthur was only king because the lady of the lake gave him Excaliber.

Sesshowmaru learns this lesson with Rin. A king without a kingdom is nothing. Power is meaningless without purpose. Geography is destiny. That's the gist of why fates are women. It's symbolism that deserves it's own discussion. Like, what if Rin was a boy?

My current favorite isekai
I'm really enjoying the manga adaption

Attached: So-Im-a-Spider-So-What-Anime[1].jpg (1654x930, 182K)

Is Hitomi the most powerful isekai mc?

Attached: 1474865984525.jpg (1440x1080, 197K)

The genre is a category of story. Not setting. It's what the story is doing. Star trek goes to different worlds all the time but it's not isekai, it's an ensemble.

Anyone remember that old ass isekai where two girls get isekai'd, one represent dragon while the other phoenix? Also main character get raped by antagonist mid in the story

Only if the story is about being stranded.
This is why people hate sword art online. It started out as an isekai, but mid season it did a genre shift, and it stopped being about escaping the death trap vr world and instead became a love story.

I really dont want to get into this subject too much to not trigger the autistic and highly mentally ill Sessrin shipper, but in short Sesshomaru's lesson with Rin was just to learn about selfless human kindness and purity, which Rumiko chose to symbolize with a child, so Rin's gender really didn't have an actual purpose here. A young boy for that matter could have also served the same role.

That would make seshomaru gay

Did you even read my post?

It would be creepy for rin to be boy.

> It started out as an isekai
No, it fucking didn't, and it's not why people hate SAO.

Netooku Otoko no Tanoshii Isekai Boueki is not isekai?

Okay let's try a different approach.
Why do think that, user?

Attached: tom is judging you.jpg (503x385, 108K)

Neither is Rougo ni Sonaete Isekai de 8-manmai no Kinka wo Tamemasu apparently.

Of course realistically Rin's role in the story wouldn't change with her gender. But realism is bad writing. With symbolism it engages the audience to perceive. It's like, a fable can't just substitute any animal character for another. It breaks the metaphor.

A girl's job is to be saved.
Boys can be more independent.

Why is isek/a/i the most consistently comfy thread on Yea Forums?

fuck, nothing i read has updated today

Symbolism plays a role with Rin being a child, which is the metaphor for purity, naivety and good, unscathed will.
Therefore even if Rin was a little boy, it would still suffice.

Not if it's a little broken orphan boy that has literally nothing to live for.
You would be right if Rin was an adult, but this is exactly why she isnt - the metaphor of being a small child is pivotal here.

That's not how metaphors work.

yeah...

You mean Fushigi Yuugi?

Why is the world so cruel?

If the world ain't cruel in the first place you won't be reading isekai.

The problem is, whenever a woman pursuing strength, she will gather a huge army of haters and antifans. These insecure faggots fear the idea of a strong woman.

Attached: Esdeath.jpg (422x600, 94K)

>what if Rin was a boy?
They would get a lot more shippers.

Well yeah. You can't just say Rin is metaphor for an ambiguous virture. Whats the story doing with that? How is that different from any other child in the show?

Best isekai protag?

Attached: Home.png (498x601, 111K)

Rin is a way for Sesshomaru to develop, user.
You do the anime took a lot of creative liberties with her character, right? She nearly has no personality whatsoever in the manga, aka the source material.
Which if I need to conclude, means that there is no story there. She serves a certain purpose, and that's it. The gender doesn't matter in this case.

You do know*

Too bad it got axed.

Attached: 127369870987.png (857x1200, 337K)

B rank poison magic

god

But that's not a metaphor.

Remember digimon is an isekai

Well, you asked what is the story, there is none, when you create a metaphor for something without a very deep story to it, it's not gonna be a very deep metaphor. Rin just symbolizes a very simple thing.

So it's not a metaphor and you just don't want to admit you don't know what your talking about.

And you have still to tell me I'm wrong without explaining how. Impressive.

You're most likely talking with the crazy shipper, user

Kagome was a slut and only a slut

I guess you're right but I wanted to give them the benefit of my doubt at least. Seeing how they dont even know how to prove their claims though I guess there's no point.

It's not wrong to not-know what a metaphor is. It just means you don't read a lot of books to have a sense for figurative language.

user, if you claim something in a discussion you need to bring upon a proof, or else you lose by default. Just so you know.
