The anime is pretty sweet to pick up and it's enough of a breakfast anime that you can watch it while doing stuff.
Never read the manga but I really want to. APPP did some crazy things back in the day so the movie is probably a nice watch.
Episode 1 of the first 109 episode anime series. Sub.
You might need a patient mindset. Give it more than a few episodes because it might take a moment to adapt to it. I personally don't watch anime from 1984 too often.
if you do anime do NOT watch the newer shit, you go straight into 80s anime with the kick ass soundtrack.
Manga. The art is fantastic.
Read the manga. The art is great
Is there anywhere for me to buy it? I see a full color version but its crazy expensive.
I enjoy physically owning it if Im gonna read it
Probably not. But you can use mangacruzers for the best available quality.
Try Jagi spinoff
Crunchyroll + uBlock Origin.
Manga. Watch the anime afterwards if you want more, but this is one of those series where the manga is just so much better.
read real manly manga, like rokudenashi blues or slam dunk
Came here to say this. Tetsuo Hara's beautiful artstyle gets botched in every single anime incarnation in my opinion. The original anime is good once you get used to the typical cheap animation treatment (in my opinion, read the manga and watch the parts you want to see animated in the anime).
The movie is well animated but the ending is trash (not the real ending to part 1).
Be aware the manga was supposed to end at the end of the "first part" but Shounen Jump wanted to keep the gravy train going and told the creators to make more, which is why "part 2" feels like a rehash with some characters.
Also, check the "inbetween-quel" about Raoh's horse between reading part 1 and 2.
his art is too static
Am I retarded or does the full dub not exist anywhere? Was it even fully dubbed? I actually watched the dub until it ran out at about 30-something and thought it was a lot better.
Read a few chapters of the manga, watch a few episodes of the anime, decide which you prefer, then go from there
Yeah they didn't fully dub it
Live action movie is the best way to go

Still better than Dragon Ball Evolution
Don't mind me, just posting the best song of the series

>feels like
It was which was kind of lame. I'm going of the anime so I don't know how much it deviates from the manga. Kaioh being SUPER RAOH was very meh to me.
That pic is actually close to a funny thought I had, (please if a drawfag could do it it would be fantastic) it would be a multi panel with Raoh getting concerned over the strange feelings he is having for Yuria. He would get a boner and proclaim " I am Ken-oh, I have no need for boners!" Then his boner would have on a helmet like the one he wears and say " I am Ken-oh Boner, I shall not be denied!" And then they fight each other.
Obviously the Manga is essential. Fantastic art and a great well paced story.
The anime is the opposite of that. Lots of filler (though to be fair a lot of that is in the Shin arc) and the art style jumps all over the place before finally staying consistent. Though it is inferior narratively and aesthetically to the Manga, it’s still great and the VA and OST is easily my favourite in any anime- single handedly defined HNK
Are you even trying?

Musou Tensei is the peak of power awakenings
totally, it's quite honestly the best awakening in anime/manga
What are your opinions on all the spin offs such as the Gaiden and Blue Sky?
i was basically going to say this. Read the manga to get the actual story and enjoy Hara's amazing artwork and then watch the aniem for the best VA and OST you'll ever hear.
objective truth. manga art is gorgeous, and it's story is amazing. anime's got the best set of VA's and soundtrack in anime
Blue Sky manga is quite good but its adaptations are dogshit either due to extremely low budget or because it's inaccurate to the source material.
To truly appreciate HnK, you must have experienced the feeling of a a man's life leaving his body as you pummel him mercilessly.
Have you? Get on it.
I've only read toki gaiden and rei gaiden, but they were pretty good. Rei's felt a bit weird though due to how much stuff it introduced that should've warranted a mention in the main story. Would you recommend reading the other stuff?
Make sure to read Fist of the Blue Sky when you're finished North Star's manga.

There is something in ken voice that makes me question my heterosexuality...
Souten no Ken was bad, I can't believe there are people here who like it more than FotNS.
Toki Gaiden was exceptionally good and everyone should read it even if the first couple of volumes were a little slow.
Rei Gaiden was weird as fuck
Jagi Gaiden was pretty boring overall for me and didn't really redeem his character like people claim but there is one huge Jagi shill somewhere on this board who gets uptight when his husbando is insulted so he will disagree.
Juuza Gaiden bored me and he was much more entertaining in the main story.
Yuria Gaiden also bored me but I'm not a huge fan of her character, I wonder if anyone is desu.
Ryuuken Gaiden oneshot is too short to really make anything of.
Last Piece overall was an okay ending.
Souther's voice must actually turn you into a woman then.

Well, that's Akira Kamiya for you. He voiced other great protagonists like Ryo Saeba and Kinnikuman

Read the manga, and stop after reading the first chapter from volume 16. Everything after that is one big boring, pointless rehash.
