I love Saber, but all of her alternate versions, except for Lily, are still the same side of her that we always see--the dutiful girl who's trying to turn herself into an inhuman machine king and who hates to lose. The fact that she has to compete with characters who have the same face as her but more sex appeal and personalities that are better as girlfriend material (Nero, Okita) doesn't help matters either. Rin's clones are also always the same person--a girl who is greedy, stingy, pushy, and careless but also a good person who looks out for others.
For the Sakura clones, you have a femdom demon kouhai character in BB, a sarcastic loli/world-weary milf in Kama, and a sharp-tongued sadist in Melt, and a nice girl who tries really hard in Parvati. She's casting a really wide net, so it's not surprising that she's getting more fish. Something that also helps is that Takeuchi seems to have realized he made a mistake in giving his sole heroine with big breasts very modest clothes that totally hide that characteristic, because all of the Sakura clones don't make that same mistake. I'm pretty sure it's also the reason why Mash is saving the world while in her underwear.

She's definitely still Rin's secret sister and still got wormed, Rin is shaken up hearing what happened to her in the other world and immediately knows what she's looking at and how Sakura turned into that when she starts using her Imaginary Numbers/Shadow powers.
I doubt Hiroyama put much thought into her since she only shows up for all of 3 pages in a side-chapter, but from what's been established in Prisma's backstory Kiritsugu almost certainly somehow killed Zouken in the process of aborting the Holy Grail War, just like he massacred the Einzberns and probably killed Rin's parents. Shinji is also one of the few F/SN and F/HA characters who didn't show up at all in the Prismaverse, so if he's not around either she's probably a lot better off in her daily life even though she's not as close with Shirou and Taiga. It was too late to stop her from getting converted but that's still 10 years of abuse avoided.

I didn't say they necessarily changed her character, they're just framing her more positively. She's made to appear more sympathetic and innocent by changing context (the Shadow nightmares are made into happy surreal dream sequences to present her as being completely unaware of what's going on, instead of properly witnessing the Shadow attacking people but feeling disassociated) and they've cut out or cut short scenes that show the darker undertones of her relationship with Shirou, like his last moment of weakness when he comes to her room with a knife intending to kill her in her sleep but can't bring himself to do it. In the movie he doesn't even get through the door, in the VN she knows what he's there to do and begs him to do it, tells him how she knows the dreams are real, she knows she's hurting people and she's afraid of losing herself to them.
Basically the movie is emphasizing that Sakura is a victim, while the VN didn't shy away from portraying her flaws and fears and shortcomings in the face of all the terrible things that she's had to deal with. They're not completely whitewashing her but I very much doubt this scene is going to be kept word-for-word.

I thought you meant her personality was watered down, which I guess it kinda has due to how she's presented, we agree on that. The shadow scenes where she's out on town would not help her being seen in a positive light I guess, but showing the full knife scene would be fine, since she's afraid of going mad because of them and also resolves to not fall asleep again to avoid killing people, and even decides to confront Zouken right after. Shirou actually does go into her room in the movie, and holds the knife above her in a position to stab her, we miss their conversation though, and it's very unlikely an animeonly would properly grasp why Sakura shed a tear after he left the room.
I doubt they skip Sakura's scene with Kirei, it's necessary but her loving her time as the strongest might be skipped in dialogue, but it's pretty obvious how she loves being stronger than Rin anyway, unless they change a lot of things.
