It hit the important moments pretty well from an animation standpoint, but only pretty well. Everything else was a dumpster fire of QUALITY. The direction is also abysmal, but a lot of that stems from the absolutely retarded production decision to cram so many volumes into two cours and the impossibility of replicating some stylistic choices Kamachi wrote in show form (the second Accel vs Touma fight comes to mind) rather than being straight-up Nishikiori's fault, so I blame money more than incompetence. Fuck J.C. Staff to hell, I waited a decade for this

I think the only way it could have captured the same feel as the LN is if they pulled some crazy blurred first-person perspective shit from Accel where Touma was a blurred mess, we could hear Accel narrating the whole thing in his head, and we could see his pain visually as he got KO-ed. That would have involved an insane amount of effort that JC clearly did not have to spare, though. I only wish they hadn't made Touma hit him like a billion times while spewing out his idealistic argument, kinda cheapened the whole affair.

I also didn't mention it in my first post, but the last episode was honestly pretty good overall. Fiamma's reaction to the whole affair and the final punch were a little underwhelming though.

The whole Fiamma fight in the LN wasn't very much of a fight at all, honestly. They just kinda stood on a flat plane and talked with each other for most of the time while Kamachi kept cutting to how Fiamma's actions impacted the wider battlefield and Accel's actions in particular. The only really "good" part of the whole thing that needed justice beyond the right dialogue being said was Fiamma realizing he was relying on arm strength instead of his Holy Right and getting told the world didn't need saving. The anime ignores almost all internal monologue and focuses on physical action over idealistic victory when the latter is arguably more important, so regardless of how much you enjoyed the source, you can't deny the adaptation packs a lot less punch.

NT1-4 is pretty self contained, it's not a big issue to put Birdway's betrayal on the back burner for the next season. NT5-10 is obviously fine. NT11-14 is an odd duck, but once you start Kamisato's arc there's honestly very few good stopping points. NT15-19 obviously checks out as 19 is the only passable place to set up an end besides maybe NT18. Until the last half of NT though not a lot of the books lead straight into another aside for 8-10

NT1-4 really doesn't need a whole season, in my opinion. I know you guys are scared for NT4 but it would just drag. I re-watched season 1 like a week ago and OT1 was honestly mind-numbing to sit through sometimes. I realize everyone wants everything to be animated but sometimes it's actually vital you cut or trim down content so it's paced better in animated form.

1-6 Build-up, Othinus cliffhanger.
7-12 7 is a good arc to restart a season. Othinus arc, 12 is better finale material than Misaki's arc, MG threat cliffhanger.

I don't care what you'll say about OT1. OT1 is not any of the NT volumes outside of NT2. The events matter a lot more about how something should be paced and a lot of the events are far more entertaining and less of a slow burn than OT1.

All Kamachi volumes should be movies, the structure doesnt really lends itself for a weekly series

The point remains though that 6 episodes is a long time. And clearly is too much time for many volumes. Look instead then at OT14, missed a scene or two, but largely caught everything in 3 episodes. 4 episodes then would seem like a good idea. And even give you that "let it sit" time.

Just because it contains everything doesn't mean it does it well. I'm sorry, but we seem to differ in terms of how to pace things here. 6 episodes wouldn't even be for every volume, but the amount of information heavy content that Agitate Halation, the longevity of the battles, the absolutely required time to let it sit and stir during NT9 is necessary.

One of the biggest problems people have with this series is them cramming information without giving any time to let it sink and take in the episode. Episode 3 of Terra arc or the 3 Episode Battle Royale is examples of this if you really want to use it. NT is even worse in this with how the psychological descriptions lessen and your ability and competency in understanding how the scene is portrayed is important. If they let it fly like they do it for the past 3 seasons, nothing will ever really feel good.

Again, not everything needs 6 episodes but it could definitely benefit on an avg of 5.

You need to reread the books user. NT7 would absolutely benefit from 6 episodes, NT5-6 are a multi part so they will easily exceed the count together.

I reread NT9 like, days ago user. I'm well aware that there's actually less going on in NT9 than one thinks. Even if you managed to dedicate an entire episode to Alpha, beta, Omega, and the final fight each, that's 4, and kind of a lot of time. Giving an extra 5th episode is the "safety net of I dont actually have the storyboard all written out", 6th is just a bit much. Unless you're spending an entire episode on the small paragraph where it mentions Touma has a bunch of shit like getting punched by a robot or hit by a meteor happen.

Hell no. Again not everything needs 6, I'm just saying it would be NICE if they give it the amount of time it needs volume to volume. Whether they feel to add more to it for better context, whether they feel some scenes or parts of the book need more time. Not be confined to what happened this season in a lot of instances.

To sum it up: I just, for once, want it to not feel like I'm on a goddamn Sonic speed run. It's okay to pause and let the information sink in, okay to have more time during an emotional scene.

I'm just here to post that Accelerator and Last Order are adorable and I love them.

An entire extra HOUR to most of the single volume arcs this season, this is the definition of overkill. 3 is what we got for most arcs this season, they were rushed, had to cut thing, overall they're mediocre to average adaptations. Not desirable, but get the job done. 4 episodes is what the screenwriters said they usually want for a volume, get less things cut, have some moments to chill out, get it all in there. 5 is great, extra care is clearly going into it, you're getting damn near all the stuff in there adapted, dramatic shots, stopping on things instead of rushing through, perfect, basically 10/10 here. 6+ is where you turn around and say "wait the fuck are you doing you dumbass" as you watch extra scenes get tossed in, things drag, and sometimes entire episodes go by while secondaries wake up and say "wait did I miss something".

I absolutely agree 5 is the sweet spot (unless you're a two parter) in my case. I am not a screenwriter though which is why I have no reason to think I can say that for sure that is what we need. The 4 episode rule mainly applied to OT novels and was Yoshino's opinion on the matter. What does a more competent screenwriter think? Which is why I was saying if they do 7-10 or even include 11, they have the time in a 2 cour to freely think and allocate what they need arc to arc. NT1-6 in 24 even is really easy, but the 2nd season is the tricky one, I feel.

When you have different color schemes they’ll change the appearance of other colors not in reality but in your brain. That’s why color pallets exist. They’re really cool. Look at images of Inuyasha. It’s probably my favorite color pallet in all anime. It’s one of the most unique and it feels comfy. It really comes across well in the ending themes. The color pallet for Railgun and Index is different as well believe it or not despite them being related.

Smash Bros Raildex would be amazing. They have plenty of characters.

His ability relies on him being able to ascertain the strength of what he identifies as an "opponent" and gives him enough speed/strength/durability to match it completely + 1. It's very susceptible to sneak attacks and unconventional forms of attack (rituals, conceptual weapons as opposed to shooty-stabby weapons).

The way he covered for this weakness was by setting his "opponent" to things on unimaginably large scales and using the resulting power to absolutely annihilate individual opponents. The ultimate goal was to save the world by making all its evil and distortion his enemy and wiping it all at once. By the point of the pic you responded to, the global ill-will and telesma nuke that were giving him had already dissipated and the thing that attacked him was another completely bullshit broken weapon with the ability to deal however much damage with whatever range the opponent expects to be done to them times ten.

Really pissed me off they had cut out that entire epilogue. I can't really forgive it since it was perfect chance to show how pissed Touma was, but nope they didn't depict him right. At least Abe makes it work.
