So now that it's over, what's the final verdict?

What speed that the plot gained at any given point was often reset by new character introductions and development, but the ending arc and final sequences of the series mostly justified the meandering pace. It would probably be more enjoyable to watch in marathon form than it was weekly. Animation was high quality. I'd give it a 6.5/10: a somewhat difficult series to adapt (evidenced by the awkward episode total and the constant plotline ping-pong), but it was executed well enough in spite of the character juggling required. The last two episodes and the ending sequence with the rain were an absolute treat.
As a standalone?
8/10 or 9/10.
As an adaptation?
Ill say that manticore and some other things brought it down to a 7/10.
The ost has some really good pieces to it but the other music such as Led Zepplin, Wagners orchestral piece and the opening / ending song were some of the best for me.
I found that marathoning the arcs gave the best result for me.
Especially considering that the longest one (king of distortion) occured over a few hours but took over a month to release.
Compared to manticore which was jumping all over the timeline (it didnt help that i was drunk while watching manticore).
A disappointment. BadHouse keeps declining in quality despite the good source material.
Unironically 10/10 needs a season 2
dropped/10
Let's talk about Boogie.
The bang bang Boogie
That up jumped the Boogie
To the rhythm of the Boogie that be
I started out lukewarm on it but it became my second favorite show of the season. Aoi Yuuki's voice work for Boogie and the OST are just a match made in heaven. There was some janky animation and ugly character designs here and there but I though it was great overall. I think it helps that I'm not familiar with the LNs though, it sounds like it didn't live up to a lot of people's expectations.
Boogie a cute smug.
read the book/10
thats a 7.8 from me
Mediocre shit, made worse by how full of itself it came off, not to mention the fanbase
Those 3 episodes about Nagi were the only genuinely enjoyable episodes
AOTY
Watching It with Yea Forums was fun
What?
It didn't even have any threads
10/10
yikes
>It didn't even have any threads
We had comfy threads every friday
Pretty good, works best watching the complete full arcs
If you don't even get the first three episodes, don't bother, you are a brainlet.
My favorites were actually the first Arc and Boogiepop at Dawn. But King of distortion was ok too.
Disappointed no translation of the LNs. I'm reading novel 4 (the one that wasn't adapted) and surprised in all these years no one translated the others. I was interested in books 10 and 12.
Apparently a lot of stuff happens involving the organization and we will never ever see jt
But the ones it did have were very fun. That's honestly the best you can hope for a show. If threads are too popular and get constant unending generals they go to shit. A thread or two for when the episode airs and the occasional one on a whim between episodes is perfect. Hisomaso was another show that had great threads like.
Shit that tried to be deep buy failed
Best anime of the season.
I really liked the track that played whenever Boogie was talking.

Oh shit, ost this fast? Noice.
terrible. a few good scenes but that's it.
pseudo-intellectual babble, shallow philosophy and the story trying too hard to be a mindfuck made people think it's some great work of art though.
It snowed in where I live a few days ago, although it melted right away.
I enjoyed the Manticore and Nagi parts, but then it dropped off a fucking cliff.
I really liked it
It feels like one of those animes that’s destined to be a forgotten classic a few years down the line, like Paranoia Agent or Flowers of Evil. I wish we got another season.
Is it worth a watch?
I thought the adaptation of the first book was disappointing. Does it get better after that? I only read what was officially translated so I guess Imaginator and Dawn would be my only other reference points.
There are 6 volumes officially translated, user.
7/10 AOTS
They fucked up the 1st arc but the rest is pretty good, at dawn is kino.
samefag, we get it. you didn't understand the first three episodes so you are mad people can enjoy it
I could stare at this smug face for hours.
Way to prove my point lol
They absolutely butchered And Others (probably due to corporate meddling over the content), Returns was pretty mediocre, At Dawn was finally worth having been made, and Overdrive kind of waffles back and forth in quality but has a really strong finale. Over all, kind of disappointing as an adaption. Definitely better than the average seasonal shit, but they made the mistake of dropping it in the same season as Mob.
>think you're bullshitting
>look it up
>mfw
I thought Seven Seas went under years ago.
Overrated, overhyped.
7/10
>"waaah it tries to be too deep what a tryfag show"
>ok don't watch it bro
>"WTF the fanbase is so toxic how come people don't like retards screeching??"
is this the power of shounenfags?
Why it's so smug, I feel like it's mocking me.
first arc: 6.5/10
second arc: 6/10
third arc: 7.5/10
fourth arc: 4/10
Overall disappointing but with some good parts, especially At Dawn. The direction pales in comparison to the old series but it had its own defaults too, so I'd say they're about equivalent in quality if not for the shitty last arc.
I thought it was pointlessly confusing, had too many characters, and ultimately didn't really achieve anything interesting.
I loved It
It was fun
At Dawn and King Of Distortion were good
>mfw first week without smug friday
how do I cope with this withdrawal syndrome?
The definition of mediocre, Im glad it flopped despite having one meme man director on board. Natsume is an overrated hack
8/10 at the very least.
Made me feel like no other anime had in a while.
It snowed in April here where I live.
I miss smugfridays as well
I want to rape Boogiepop but Im shit at drawing
it's definitely pretentious. anyone who disagrees is a brainlet
but it was still enjoyable, largely due to the presentation
Produce an argument explaining how it is pretentious which includes defining pretentious or kill yourself.
2/10 no-one watched this garbage except the few in this thread. This show will be forgotten and barely mentioned once the spring season ramps up.
But this spring season is complete garbage
People will debate if it was a good adaption or not but the soundtrack was pretty fucking good. It captured the setting perfectly

>you: DURRRRP
>me: Uhum, settle down sir...
Btfo
But what if it snows in spring?
imaginator arc was fun with /a
The first anime was better.
>if a show doesn't have a 24/7 general than it has no threads
This attitude is killing the board.
today it snowed here
It was decent
So are there only 6 volumes translated at all?
How much money does one have to throw at 7seas until they translate more?
Im thinking about liquidating some property
BUY BUY BUY
DEEP shit
pretentious and insulting piece of shit
in other words: bakemonogatari/10
Good voice acting
Good animation
Good music
The stars were aligned.
And yet it was so fucking boring jesus christ.
It was too boring to bother with, dropped on episode 1 after I realized it would be even slower than the first anime.
Trigger setting trends as usual
