My God, I thought I was the only one. Just finished watching the show a couple weeks ago. Ending got to me pretty hard, still get a little emotional listening to Scarborough Fair. Reading through volume 1 of the LN right now, enjoying all the background info on Willem and all the details. I don't think it's popular enough for a season 2 but there should be enough material for it. There's also the spinoff LN featuring the girls when they're older, pretty sure it's called SukaMoka.
