Shokugeki no Souma

Does anyone else remember when the manga was this good? What the fuck happened? Will it get put down soon?

And the anouncemment? There is nothing on the color page no?

>this shit could end and open up a slot for a new potentially good series
>nah let's keep it going for fucking ever

Considering the dumpster-tier series WSJ keeps trying to debut as of recently, I don't think they mind keeping around a shit SnS for a while.

At least it's not shipping shit. Thank goodness.

Why does Soma look 10 years old?

I wish there were more guns in manga and anime. The medium makes them look really cool, but they're always outshadowed by swords. And they're all the same swords - either katanas or European broadswords. Why not a gladius, a dao, a kris or something more unconventional? Guns are much more varied than swords. Pistols, rifles, shotguns and all that, plus all of the subcategories for those classifications. They're so much more interesting than swords. But no, let's have our protagonist hold glorious nippon steel folded 4000 times pig iron katana instead.

It hasn't really been doing a good job showcasing new foods or cooking techniques lately which I think is a significant part of the fun in the genre. The super power nonsense feels like a crutch to avoid doing any research on food.

Swords look cooler imo, but more importantly are much superior for choreographing fight scenes. There aren't cool moves you can do with guns, gun vs gun interplay doesn't really work, at least not like sword clashes, and being under gunfire is much more dangerous than someone coming at you with a sword, so its harder to suspend disbelief and have the characters just keep going mostly uninjured.
Guns also just make me think of burgerland.
Here's a WSJ manga with some guns for you though.

That makes sense. I suppose guns may work better in an animated medium. I think for guns to really shine in manga the illustrator would need to have an exceptional sense of space and motion, or have interesting tactical moves different from just staying behind cover or whatever.

You meant 3-4 chapters?

Let's not kid ourselves, it's always been a poor man's Yakitate Japan with more fanservice.

so the 15 chapters left was fake

>Cooking series
>Barely any detailed cooking (that defines the series) for the past few chapters
>Only show aftermath

Gee, I wonder why...

yes, its actually 8 chapters left

It's a fucking cooking series that is up to 300 something chapters. Not a lot you can do with it.

Tosh made his head abnormally big

fpbp, unironically
the characters were always shit and cooking in general is a boring topic for a manga
the only redeeming feature were the foodgasm shots, but even those became boring after a while.

>Not a lot you can do with it.
I beg to differ. There's a whole lot that can be done with cooking as a theme. And even while this guy has a point , I wouldn't discredit this manga completely - It was a fun ride.

I remember when the ranking jumped when there's an Erina chapter.
Tsukuda probably thought he can rely on that forever.

>Does anyone else remember when the manga was this good?
I'm reading the manga for the first time so yeah, I do remember.

Have you missed the Megumifags?
They are basically it since Erinafags have stop giving a shit and every other ship was put on the fridge long ago, the reason there is no shipping faggoty now is that ... back in the day before Central there was plently abound, this is how much of a failure this series became, even as shipping it self-torpedo itself.

Asahi is the worst manga character to Trump being the worst president
