I actually sort of liked the anime's version of how Diablo talked Alicia down? They actually managed to incorporate a sort of thematic lesson into it, by making it one of the few times Diablo willingly almost drops his act and says something genuine.

Just like Alicia, the lonely basement-dwelling NEET knows what it's like to wish all humans would die because he thought they all look down on him. But over the course of this show we see him finally kind of learning to make friends and finding a place to belong. So he passed that lesson to Alicia (who already learned to care for someone i.e. Edelgard), and tried to make her realize that the world is not as shit as he and she thought, and that was enough to make her try not to want to kill everything or kill herself. I thought that actually gave the series a kind of thematic point and conclusion.

By contrast the LN just has him bullshit some stuff about blowing everything up because he doesn't know what to say and lets Alicia come to her own conclusion, which naturally is still "murder everything for the demon lord" except with Diablo as the demon lord. Neither of them grew and neither of them learned anything or developed. Of course this could be down to the fact that the last 10 minutes of the anime was actually the beginning of volume 4 and not the end of volume 3 so it wouldn't have made sense to have anything that feels as conclusive as that in the LN. But even so, I get the idea that the director of the anime damn well knew what he was doing to extract something meaningful from this hot mess of tits and ass and Diablo's autism.

I'm impressed at how Bookworm became so popular in Japan with neither stereotypical video game elements nor heavy emphasis on romance despite what shippercancer want to believe.

I just can't get into any isekais that are literally within an RPG video game world. It just makes me think of every character besides the MC as NPCs, especially if the NPCs acknowledge the video game elements themselves.

Well, that's 10 terms and of anything is out of the bounds that a human can th ink about at once, so to even consider what I'm agreeing to I would need to abstract some of them away.
And, presumably, since this is an agreement with a god I would need to be very careful to not violate any part of it. So being able to think of every term at once would be a good start.

When I started watching the anime I expected to get annoyed by Rem and to be bored/uninterested by the elf, Shera? Ultimately had a great time and ended loving both, with a soft spot for the elf, truly a reminder to never ever skip on something due to preconceived ideas. Same thing with the Smartphone one.
