Was it bad that I said colouring books are a tradition to /ai/ culture? Because I made a fun of myself and what I meant was I really love colouring books. The whole thing with me having a compulsive issue with artbooks and whatnot is wrong. I am still looking for them everyday but not compulsively. Long story short, I love colouring books and artbooks. I can’t wait for more colouring books as always. I think since the new AiFure season and Prichan season have started, they should be up on Rakuten in just a few months. As always I’ll search for them and post the links. Hoping coloring book user gets a chance to get another colouring book up while we’re waiting for the newer ones. I’ve always wondered if there was a guide to scanning colouring books which i guess not.

I wonder why they waited until S2 to create proper settings for the school since it's painfully obvious they only had the courtyard and the establishing shot of a few individual buildings during the first season without a clear layout like this one, so the school felt really tiny and underdeveloped. Well it's clear that there's a focus difference between s1 and s2 so if s2 has more focus on the school, like showing normal classes, actually including all of those background idols that we saw at the start of the episode and just has more school activities in general then we'll know that they wanted s1 to focus solely on building up the characters (Aine and Mio) and their relationships.
The school being really empty in s1 was pretty hilarious.
The Cinderella episode stood out because suddenly you got this focus on all of these students that are doing their own thing and then they just disappear until it's time for the cups.

Stars as a series is a dumpster fire. However, almost all the characters are great with the exception of only a couple and the music is generally better than the aifure songs. When you're watching it you find that you love the characters so much that you can tolerate how objectively shit the series is because you care about what happens to them and want to see them succeed in their goals.

Like the others said, the drama and plot in Stars makes a lot of people hate it, but the people that do like Stars will swear its the best. If you love Aifure, I would recommend watching the original Aikatsu first as its a lot closer to Aifure than Stars is.

There's nothing wrong with drama and plot in Aikatsu, it's just that Stars was terrible written in almost every way.
On the other hand, Aifure takes the OGkatsu approach of being heavily slice of life, but the characters in Friends are dull and the individual episodes aren't very compelling either. Friends also has some stupid writing, though not to the extent we saw it in Stars.

The difference is that for OGkatsu, when it didn't seem like they knew where they were going, it didn't matter too much because is didn't change the core appeal of the show just being cute idols doing idol activities. With Stars, it was core plot points that were all over the place which is both much more noticeable and much more frustrating to watch.
One thing I actually really appreciate about Friends is that it really did feel like the story always knew where it was going and was much less all over the place.

I think Stars plot points are maybe a but under cooked but never really found it frustrating or detracting from the appeal. At the very least it held my interest more than anything after s1 of OGkatsu even if the pay off isn't always the best. Also never thought anything in Stars story ever came back to bite them in the butt as much as treating Otome becoming Starlight Queen like a total joke than expecting people to care about it in S3 and S4.

Stars was infuriating, but the characters were so good that it made you very invested in all the drama and awful writing. It was a series that was enjoyable to be angry at, if that makes sense.
Aifure's main problem is that Ema and Maika just aren't good characters, yet the show constantly wants us to care about them. Honey Cat episodes are almost always massive low points.

It was as if the series straddled two timelines, one of which had Elza being misguided but not a complete monster and the other where she was literally worse than Hitler and made Satan look like Jesus with almost every action she took. The issue was that the show depicted the Elza from Timeline B while depicting every other character from Timeline A. They expected their audience to feel sorry for her and want to see her helped while doing literally nothing to cement that she was a sympathetic character outside of literally one episode that aired long before most of her worst acts were committed.
