What is your opinion on Tokyo Ghoul?
Tokyo Ghoul
Shit manga
Shit anime
Shit fan base
Shit writer
Read a good manga like alita
I've not seen it yet, should I?
Crap
S1: Interesting, a bit generic. I'm sure it will get better.
Root A: Damn it's still kind of shit it will get better soon!
:RE S1: Holy crap how is it physically possible to make something this bad. Maybe it will come together...
:RE S2: mfw
15 year old me loved it.
22 year old wants to punch 15 year old me for thinking he was Kaneki.
pretty good
shame the concept of :re wasnt utilized well and got really silly towards the last half
BE THE BECOME
Actually he was the Tokyo Fool?!
First Manga was good
Final confrontation with Arima was great.
RE: up to the end of the Tsukiyama arc was the best part of the series
Then it slowly rolled down hill until Arima died and the it fucking plummeted off the cliff
When I first heard of Tokyo Ghoul for some reason my imagination went wild and I thought maybe the premise was people are unwillingly being turned in to ghouls and wear masks to shelter their humanity from the horrible acts they have to commit in order to stay alive. Their mask earned them a nickname and basically it was ghouls trying to remain human and fit in to society while also being forced to cannibalize their fellow citizens.
Then I started watching the anime and the actual show was so disappointing in comparison that I've hated it ever since. Season 1 didn't get good until pretty much the very last episode, then season 2 skipped and was just total shit, I'm not sure if a season 3 came out but if it did I didn't bother suffering through it.
If Arima was so cool, why didn't he kill the V?
I liked the anime a lot. One of my favorites because of themes and visuals. Also all the opening songs were excellent.
I watched the first 6 episodes of anime and dropped it
I don't like it but it was nice to see a small hit come out of nowhere in the current tepid market.
Both mangas are masterpieces
Season 1 is a masterpiece that even improved on the manga material
Season 2 butchered the story but has the absolute best sense of atmosphere that I've seen in any anime
Season 3 was a souless adaption but the source material was great enough to where even a souless adaption would be good
Season 4 is a fucking abomination as an anime and as an adaption which is especially unacceptable because the Dragon War arc is the greatest arc in the entirety of TG
only worth it for best girl
fixed
This bait is even worse than usual
wasted potential
Watched some of it, got bored, dropped it.
First manga is solid.
Second manga starts kinda slow, gets better and then turns into garbage past the half way point.
The anime is trash.
Y'all don't want to hear the truth
TG S1 forever underrated by everyone except tumblrfags
The manga was steadily improving for 200 chapters, art-wise as well as storytelling goes. Then it takes a noticeable nosedive somewhere between arima's death and eto's offscreened death. From there, only a few moments like the beginning and end of the dragon arc felt like the OG series. It's a shame Ishida got burned out, there was just so much more potential.
AAAA I LOVE KANEKI
TG> TG:RE up to cochela >>>>> TG S1 anime >>>shit>>>>RE: anime>>>>>>>>>>Root A.
>eto's offscreened death
I still don't get how and why
I only read part/season 1 of the manga and I have to sy that I love it. Kaneki is one of the best written MCs out there. Tokyo Ghoul is one those manga that you either love or hate.
Because Ishida didn't have an excuse about that.
Faggot
Pretty much this.
i am the tokyo ghoul
the tokyo ghoul was in us all along
the real tokyo ghoul was the friends we made along the way
I don't get all the hate for it. I just finished re: yesterday and found it a (mostly) satisfying ending.
Everyone screamed the series was edgy then got mad at the happy ending.
Someone post the .gif
this but unironically
21 years old me though it was one the greatest things ever
27 years old me wants to punch my 22 years old me
*21
The first season was good. Didnt really like much after that
"Happy ending" isn't the problem, it was dropping lots of plot points, and Furuta being literally nothing but memes, and the last fight with Rize being offscreened because fuck you for reading this.
