I honestly think it was a great ending. For me, the most important thing an ending has to do is make me feel an intense emotion. Any kind of emotion.
And this ending did a great job making my anger emotion explode into oblivion.

Except he didn't, he barely knew her before she got murdered. He went back in order to save his mom and clear his own name specifically because if he catches the murderer when he was active in the past it will have stopped him in the future as well. Did you not even watch or read the series?

The girl did nothing wrong, from her perspective she was doing her best. The ending sucked because the authors set everything up for MC to have some sort of catharsis but everything was exactly the same as when the show started.

He prevented his moms murder and his own framing, he's got a new series, he "lost" those years but also already experianced them and kept those memories so its not like he actually lost that time, and he has much more confidence in himself overall. Pretty much everything worked out for the better for him at the end and he achieved all of his goals he set when he jumped back in time.
