Depends on what Imagine Breaker does to a Servant. Does it cancel them, does it weaken them, is it just a "block NP"? IB works by eating the false reality of sorts, so how does that work in context with NPs that are actually real? Or would it be an Anti-World thing that kills reality marbles? Or is an RM actually fake in the first place, after all, it's an actual world and everything in it is still real, it's just a reality that's being sustained by something.

Depends how powerful IB is relative to Fate series.

If IB is so powerful it stops him from being a master? He won't be in the war.

Only situations where Touma would actually get to use broken arm is countering excalibur blast or caster's magic. Most of the other masters will know his trick after 1 use.

Most of the winners held their trump cards til near the end. Shirou/Saber held their trump cards (excalibur/avalon/ubw/archerarm) until the end for most of the routes.

The Anna namedrop isnt essential at all. Its a nice little foreshadowing thing, but its not like its mandatory. Picking up on little bits of foreshadowing and small details is 100% something you read the books for, not the adaptation.

The foreshadowing for events like WW3 was all there, the big events are there, the stuff with Aleister is there, leaving out single narration only lines about "he looks kind of like a guy and a girl at the same time" on the other hand, you're going to have to learn to live with.

I know but you must not be remembering that all that foreshadowing came from a single paragraph from Aleister. Anna and the hazards were a single sentence. Aleister mentions the Aeon when he calls IT Kamijou Touma, and Ollerus also mentions the Aeons to Fiamma at the end. I don't want to hear that they can't squeeze a few lines in, especially if they skip the OP/ED.

The Producer of Toaru at JC Staff apparently favors newer works and DanMachi + Railgun, he said it in some interview that this was the focus.

On the SAO stream he talked about how two of his works aired at the same time this past year. Both were trial and errors, one was far too slow, the other was far too fast and there lengths greatly differed. He then said the next one, *for sure*, he will do it right for both of them.

The Index stream he mentioned how he was shocked himself over how much was cut and the production of it. But he felt they absolutely had to do WW3 otherwise there may have not been a continuation if it ended elsewhere.

Aside from that, I imagine he couldn't insta-kill servants or their NPs because of how mana works on a heavily quantitative basis. It'd probably take a few seconds of contact at least to wipe one out depending on how much they have. In addition, the HGW is honestly more a battle of information than it is one of statistics. Without supremely powerful aid in-universe, pretty much any Archer or Assassin would have him dead within hours of identifying him.

If you're talking about the 5th war specifically, both Hassan and Archer would be able to do the aforementioned. Archer and Gilgamesh would also win in a straight fight because Touma can't handle the sheer quantity of projectiles they can simultaneously handle, Archer especially because he can bypass IB by using shitty projected weapons and allowing them to be continuously destroyed and recreated as a defense against it. Berserker and Saber would most likely utterly outclass him in agility and pound him into the floor like Acqua did, but I suppose there's not a nonzero chance of victory against Saber if he baits her into wasting a bunch of her mana on Excalibur. She'd probably kill him with Invisible Air before he figured out how it worked, though. Rider would dance around and kill him most likely, but he might be able to neutralize her if he grabs her chains before she understands how IB works. Kojiro would annihilate him. Caster would lose in a straight fight, but would never get into such a situation. Lancer would annihilate him.

tl;dr he's mega-fucked if it's just him against Servants. If he has a servant of his own, that's an entirely different story and he'd be a major asset on the level of Bazett

Not really though. There's low points, and some things were skipped, but to say the whole season is shit is blatantly untrue.

The trend is just a coincidence. They had to end S2 on Academy City invasion for a proper season finale, and as a result S3 ended up having to cram in the rest due to the long wait.

It hits even harder because this is supposed to be the start of a major animation project and they floundered. Now the staff for both Accel and Railgun are on thin ice for the mistakes of the Index staff.

Fair enough, I'm mainly just talking about momentum and goodwill. No matter even if I thought it was OK, there's a huge difference in how people are feeling about going into this final episode compared to other series.

I have my theories that s2 was gonna be 3 cour and in the range of OT14-16. Terra being in the PVs leads some credence to that, and that due to the natural disasters they had to scrap it and make it 2 cour through SS1.

They were considering rebooting Index altogether over finishing OT, user. Index could have come back into the mainstream just fine, but they didn't really market it, they didn't even try and it's just there. They didn't kill it since it had net 0 effect, it's just there.

That didn't work out so well back then seeing as AW got a gigantic fucking shaft. But I'm at the point where a NT/BS announcement would probably take the cake for me. It's obvious no other Kamachi series is gonna have the chance, so they might as well do it now while it's going. If they're going for the reputation of the author thing, BS is a good choice since it's very original. The only apt comparison is Mahouka but death billiards.
