Is this what the anime fanbase looks like when at large it only considers shit shoveled out by Aniplex anymore? I think it is. Comparing dick sizes over what show that received several orders of magnitude the promotional blitz and social media hype mongering campaigns of any other anime that aired in a given season sold slightly more than the other.

Of course this show is going to be at least some form of hit, that much is obvious even though it looks budget as fuck in the trailer. Doesn't really matter, it's going to be blitzkrieg marketed, talked up on social media by the usual suspects, and feature several sakuga scenes early on that are focus grouped for potential to be memed down it's target audiences throats and then they'll in turn shill it on twitter as people already kind of are on Yea Forums and presto it'll get exactly the kind of bump every other romantic comedy they crank out does. The characters and premise will be a been there done that affair but boy will people shitpost the memes. It'll probably have a trendy dance ending or some other thing weebs like to meme attached to it that's not at all indicative of the general tone or quality of the show itself to boost it's profile on social media and then ride that through it's middle stretches as well. Like I'm pretty sure this company has an exact template on how to make a hit for the teen weeb audience down to the point where generating a moderate hit is more or less a given with romantic comedy stuff.

Aniplex definitely does. Even if it I don't think they could be anywhere near as successful without social media and meme culture. Boy have they used that to their advantage to manufacture hits out of some cut and dry stuff that couldn't have made it in any other era. This show looks budget and run of the mill as shit, but my god would I bet on it being at worst a modest hit that they could drive far with a carefully placed memeable sequence in an early episode and the usual not to subtle social media campaigns to hype up their shows beyond anything competitors can muster.

Based on this alone I figure it'll be the scenario where Japan who gets the VA stuff goes more for Senryu like with 5 Toubun while America that likes meme shit and Aniplex telling them what to like will get more mileage out of Bokuben much like Kaguya.
