Ayden Smith
I don't know why but the older I get the more I like Akane.

never thought about it but this show had the perfect excuse for showing characters naked every episode.
rumiko the mad psycho.
Logan Scott
Do you enjoy the presence of Squids in your life mooninite?
Jose Diaz
>being such a newfag redditor you keep using the NPC fotm meme
feels like you are trying to bait me into posting more ukyos.
Eli Sullivan
There's literally nothing wrong with nudity. It seems only puritan-tier americans have issues with it.
Dominic Lee
Ranma is the hottest girl.
Carson Anderson
dont care.
Most of the shows even at the time felt forced with the fanservice. Here it works naturally, even if there is a oldman stealing girls underwears. I consider it an achievement, it's a very mature take of nudity when you think about it, that's why I was pointing it out.
Ian Russell
The good tomboy.
Jack Green
Robert Russell
>Ranma is the hottest girl.
Would be if it was actually a girl
Colton Ramirez
Ranma is a better girl than the actual girls.
Adam Hughes
Checked.

Akane
Akane is pretty nice to everyone, except Ranma
Shampoo is pretty mean to everyone, except Ranma
Kevin King
>The one with the 80's hair
So the one on the left?
Joshua Campbell
Kodachi.
Julian Rodriguez
Ukyo nationalism now
Angel Roberts
Hotest, sure.
But Ranma being an insufferable cunt/prick is also a thing. People like Ranma because he/she is handsome/pretty, but if you take that away you will see that Ranma has very few redeeming qualities as a person.
Wyatt King
impressive
Christopher Gonzalez
What would you give to her?
Lucas Howard
Bruh Ranma is an ass at all times Akane is always open to improving their relationship and he cant stop being a dumbass and be decent to her like ever
Daniel Young
Shampoo forever.
Charles Allen
And she dance dance dance ;)
Zachary Johnson
Brandon Evans
Ranma chan.
Matthew Scott
Landon Flores
Shampoo, aka the blue-haired girl on the right. Far better than Akane. She would have made a much better official love interest.
Ian Brooks
Adam Sanchez
It works naturally because the author is a woman
Nathan Wilson
Tyler Roberts
>She would have made a much better official love interest.
In real-life, yes. In an anime meant to be aired for family audiences, no. You can't broadcast 24/7 soul-releasing sex on mainstream television.

ranma is a girl though. ranma is the obly example i can think of of a real transgender person. when water hits him he ACTUALLY transitions into a biological girl. ranma is not a trap
Colton Jones
Yes, you can see here that Ranma chan has no dick
Nathaniel Price
Those quints speak the truth.
Joseph Powell
So, like most characters in Ranma then?
Asher Taylor
Ranma chan.

not until unless we see the chromosomes.
Jayden Flores
whoever is more submissive.
i like sub-chicks.
Adrian Cruz
>but if you take that away you will see that Ranma has very few redeeming qualities as a person.
In fact, the only reason Ranma even tries to be better person is because of Akane.
Evan White
short hair akane is so shit, her long hair style is much better and actually puts her on par with best girl Shampoo.
Otherwise, Shampoo forever, with Faster, Kasumi! Kill! Kill! as second
Brandon Robinson
Ukyo is the most beautiful
Mason Cooper
Short hair is fucking disgusting but Akane is the better person.
Anthony Lee
This
Julian Fisher
shampoo wouldnt mind whoring herself for money if that means ranma is her husband.
And i mean doing it with wild animals, by her culture point of view she is essentially yours forever.

People who think Shampoo is the best girl have shit taste. It's a good personality filter
Nathan Watson
Will I like this if I liked UY. I really don't like gender bender though. Are the MCs as entertaining as Ataru and Lum
Jacob Gonzalez
Ranma girls are hot and better, the MC as well.
Jacob Lewis
Chase Perry
She only look cute, outside of that she is a horrible horrible horrible person. She does not even cares about Ranma's feeling and tries to forces her feeling on him like when she tried to brainwash him into marrying her.
Not to mention her horrible treatment toward Muse who does everything to make her happy.
Asher Howard
Nah UY has better girls
Jacob Scott
Even Shampoo was better than Lum.
Aaron Stewart
When i was a lad, i liked Shampoo
As a man, I like Kodachi
Jose Harris
>quints of five
the ultimate truth right here
Noah Jenkins
I have respect for you sir.
Wyatt Robinson
this
Christian Rodriguez
They're all horrible people. Ranma has tried to brainwash Akane into being more feminine with a "housewife flower" (Pink & Link arc), and tried to brainwash Ryoga into falling in love with Akari (Akari's Debut arc).
Shampoo at least genuinely loves Ranma, despite her warped ways of showing it. Plus, who knows what kind of punishments she has waiting for her if she doesn't try to get married to him?
As for being mean to Mousse, that's easily explained; Mousse is Shampoo's version of Tatewaki Kuno. She doesn't like him, she never has liked him, he just decided to take her for himself, despite knowing she's been engaged.
Michael Martinez
ranma just wanted ryoga to be happy though.
also akane is a terrible housewife no matter how hard she tries.
not defending ranma though the ova completelly ruined him for me.
Ethan Robinson
I don' t get it, how the fuck can someone like the gold digger with no loyalty?
Eli Williams
Truth right here!
Kayden Richardson
I generally find it's her intelligence and ability to control herself, rather than flying off the handle at the slightest thing like the main cast do. She makes a good foil.
Plus, she could very easily have been an interesting official wife for Ranma; if Ranma had shown up at the Dojo in his male form first, she would have accepted the engagement, so who knows how the series would have gone from there.
Brayden Fisher
Funny thing is, in the anime, Kodachi's actually not that implausible a choice. She's actually come to Ranma's assistance twice in two seperate anime episodes, and shown a surprisingly soft and loving side, albeit still flamboyant and eccentric.
Grayson Johnson
nabiki being a MC could've been great.
she just casually helping ranma on his adventures and ignoring shampoo and all the harem retardation knowing ranma lives with her already, meaning she won long ago.
Gavin Walker
There is no debate to be had, Ukio is the BEST girl by far, and nothing will change this, so y'all get your shitty opinions out of the FUCKING THREAD
Christopher Hall
>he just decided to take her for himself, despite knowing she's been engaged.
mousse sincerelly loves shampoo, and it doesnt matter if she is engaged, she hasnt married yet, He still has a chance.
Zachary Flores
whats so funny about role playing as a fanboy retard obsessed with an anime character.
Andrew James
nah
Nolan Wright
Mah man.
Samuel Ramirez
Except no, he doesn't, because she has never, ever made any expression that she likes him or wants him. She was rejecting him years before Ranma showed up, and Mousse can't blame Ranma for her rejection.
Joseph Turner
Name a Ranma character that has been depicted as genuinely kind and selfless but not naive and stupid.
Not counting Katsumi
Carson Campbell
>Shampoo at least genuinely loves Ranma,
Their is nothing genuine about Shampoo's feeling. She is selfish to the core and sees Ranma more like an object.
The only person that genuinely loves Ranma and cares about his feeling is Akane. In fact Akane is one of the four few character that are genuinely kind, selfless, pure and caring (Beside Kasumi, Dr Tofu & Ranma's mother). Not to mention Akana respected Ranma's feeling and didn't tried to forced him into loving him.
Tatewaki Kuno is just an idiot from a rich house with no common sense who believes everything to be about himself. Thats why he can not see the problem with dating two girls. Mousse is nothing like that since he genuine loves only Shampoo, he even given up on her just for her happiness until she and her grandma trick him into looking after their shop.
Akane shown annoyance toward Kuno but she never trick him and misused his obsession over her. Shampoo deliberately uses Mousse feeling to manipulate him for her own gain.
Daniel Lewis
Shampoo fags absolutely wrecked. Rumiko depicts Shampoo as an insane out-of-touch megalomaniac and that's exactly what she is.
Gabriel Sanders
>Mousse is Shampoo's version of Tatewaki Kuno. She doesn't like him, she never has liked him, he just decided to take her for himself, despite knowing she's been engaged.
Except Ranma was engaged to Akane long before Shampoo even met the Boy-Ranma and lost to him. You can not blame Mousses for something Shampoo herself was doing.
Also Shampoo was Ranma's self-proclaim Fiance, nether Ranma or his family accepted her as his fiance.
Asher Bell
>Name a Ranma character that has been depicted as genuinely kind and selfless but not naive and stupid.
Dr Tofu, Akane Tendo and Ranma's mother
Kayden Martinez
ranma in some arcs
Daniel Young
>akane
>not naive and stupid
nice one retard
Benjamin Perez
>Dr Tofu
naive and ignorant when comes to women that one thing he cares about.
>Akane Tendo
do i even have to say it?
>Ranma's mother
she married genma.
Jonathan Thomas
>Dr Tofu
To a certain extent, yes.
>Akane Tendo
I mean she is absolutely naive and stupid.
>Ranma's mother
Other than a own twisted sense of (Japanese) morality that a stupid contract is more important than her son's life, yeah.
Hunter Campbell
She was much more intelligent and rational than Ranma was.
Sebastian Hall
Sure when she was not fucking shit up for ranma to save her time and time again
Joseph Allen
Not really, book smart sure. She's severely lacking in street smarts.
Owen Gomez
>naive and ignorant when comes to women that one thing he cares about
But probably the mst mature character in the series when you-know-who is not around. Not to mention, he might be a better martial artist than Ranma
>do i even have to say it?
Akane was still more mature than Ranma and other character.
>Other than a own twisted sense of (Japanese) morality that a stupid contract is more important than her son's life,
But she did eventually got over that as long as Ranma acts like a man.
Zachary Bennett
And there was time where she came to save Ranma life.
She was still more mature than Ranma.
Benjamin Wilson
wrong.
Ranma is better than her in every single aspect of life including being feminine, smarter, stronger, wiser and more balanced. Akane has the mind of a child and rather escape men and hide in her room with her pet (which she doesnt know is actually ryoga).
Eli Turner
You mean when she put tape on Ranma's mouth when he had to kiss her on their school play.
Nathaniel Brown
>Their is nothing genuine about Shampoo's feeling. She is selfish to the core and sees Ranma more like an object.
Then explain why Shampoo, when brainwashed, responded to being told to kill Ranma by planning to make it a murder-suicide? Or her being willing to give the kiss of death to her own little sisters to protect Ranma in the anime?
She's selfish, yeah, but so is everyone in this series. She still loves Ranma just as much as Akane or Ukyo do.
There's a reason why, in the New Year's Ghost Cat story, Shampoo bluntly tells Mousse that his kiss can't break the Ghost Cat's curse; she doesn't love him, but she does love Ranma.
Except that if Ranma had been in male form when he arrived at the Joketsuzoku, he would have wound up engaged to Shampoo there and then, and he probably would have loved Shampoo a lot more than he did Akane.
But really, no, Mousse is not the same as Shampoo. Tribal law demands that Shampoo marry Ranma, whether she wants to or not. Mousse has no such excuse. Especially because, even when she was free to pick who she wants, she rejected Mousse time and time again.
Whereas Ranma has actually led Shampoo on in the past.
Hudson Scott
>She was still more mature than Ranma.
To be fair that's not really a high standard. The way Genma raised Ranma pretty much ensures Ranma will always be a selfish overgrown child.
Ryder Flores
>an insane out-of-touch megalomaniac
That's as accurate a description of Akane as it is of Shampoo.
Oliver Nguyen
>Not to mention, he might be a better martial artist than Ranma
Beginning series Ranma and end series are two totally different beasts. No way someone like Dr. Tofu could take on Herb or Saffron.
Isaiah Rivera
>The only person that genuinely loves Ranma and cares about his feeling is Akane.
I agree with this. Which just makes it worse because Akane is a terrible person a lot of the time.
>Akane is one of the four few character that are genuinely kind, selfless, pure and caring (Beside Kasumi, Dr Tofu & Ranma's mother).
She has her moments, but they're few and far in-between. Really, Akane just seems more self reflective than most characters. She'll think about what she did wrong, but end up doing it again. Which kinda makes her a worse person, because she actually does have a working conscious. I wouldn't dare put her on the level of Kasumi or Tofu though. And Ranma's mother is a crazy person, no matter how motherly she can be.
>Not to mention Akane respected Ranma's feelings
By yelling and hitting him when she thinks he's flirting or picking up women? Not to mention her always calling him a pervert and such, which she can see obviously bothers him.
Samuel Howard
Akane is out-of-touch but not a megalomaniac. Just really insecure and dumb.
Aiden Hill
>Ranma is better than her in every single aspect of life including being feminine, smarter, stronger, wiser and more balanced
Ranma is egoistic, narcissist, selfish, immature, insensitive, short tempered and dense. He would have gotten brainwashed into marrying Shampoo if Akane didn't outsmarted them and cut off the magic red thread of destiny.
Liam Collins
and still the best girl u forgot
Andrew Long
Eli Richardson
Nathan Williams
>She's selfish, yeah, but so is everyone in this series.
Not everybody since Akane, Kasumi and Dr Tofu exists.
>She still loves Ranma just as much as Akane or Ukyo do.
Her selfishness was shown when Ranma was under the control of a magic bandage that make him say yes to all girl and Shampoo wanted to use this to make him sign a marriage contract. It was Akane who wanted to consider Ranma's feeling but Shampoo didn't care as long as she can have Ranma.
Shampoo never felt love toward Ranma, she only felt an unhealthy obsession/lust toward Ranma. Its no different than highly obsessive stalker who believe their obsession to be love.
Ian Richardson
I think Ryoga could have been the best girl, frankly.
Gabriel Garcia
Akane? Not selfish? You're insane! Akane is one of the most selfish damn women in this series.
Elijah Rogers
>he would have wound up engaged to Shampoo there and then, and he probably would have loved Shampoo a lot more than he did Akane.
No he would not
He fall for Akane for a reason, it was because she was the only girl that wasn't unhealthily obsessed with him and actually had a close bond with him which allowed him to share many thing with her.
Shampoo had no bond with Ranma, she just freaked him out with her obsession over him.
>Tribal law demands that Shampoo marry Ranma,
Her Tribal law does not apply to Japan and any Japanese people in the land of Japan.
>Mousse has no such excuse
He was his childhood friend that loved her.
Shampoo was free to reject him, but using his feeling to manipulate him was just horrible which Shampoo did multiple time.
Nicholas Mitchell
>Genma raised Ranma pretty much ensures Ranma will always be a selfish overgrown child.
Until he met Akane who served as his moral campus.
Michael Diaz
That's why I don't support Ranma with any ship other than Akane because Shampoo and Ukyo would guarantee he stays a selfish kid for the rest of his life.
Jaxon Mitchell
He "fell" for Akane because she was a cute girl whom he spent all his time with and she was the first girl to be nice to him amidst the furor of rejections he received when he first showed up as a girl at the Tendo dojo. Even then, he didn't initially like her because, guess what? She was a violent hypocritical little bitch to him! He took weeks to warm up to her, and none of the other girls ever had the chance to try and "bond" with him the way Akane did.
Also, sharing many things? You're an idiot. Ranma has never shared anything with Akane unless circumstances arise that he HAS to talk to her about stuff. And even then, 9 times out of 10, she has to drag the information out of him.
Akane is no more Ranma's moral compass than Shampoo is Mousse's. Akane has been JUST as bad as all the rest of the Ranma 1/2 cast, and frankly in some areas worse.
Grayson Scott
>Akane is a terrible person a lot of the time.
She was never terrible, in fact she was shown to be friendly and kind toward most people expect all the stupid and horrible people around her that kept provoking her such as Kuno. She is hard on Ranma because of his large ego and sexual harassment toward her.
There are reason why Ryuga and many other character fall for Akane's kindness.
>She'll think about what she did wrong, but end up doing it again.
Except she tries to improve herself but its not easy when you are around people like Ranma, Hapusai and her father/ future father-in-law.
>By yelling and hitting him when she thinks he's flirting or picking up women?
Pretty much every character yell and hit each other on Ranma 1/2 except Kasumi. At least Akane has reasonable reason for lashing out on anybody.
Nicholas Kelly
Ranma would dodge responsibility no matter who he's paired with. With Shampoo or Ukyo, they'd just let him do whatever he wanted and probably provide for him the rest of his life. With Akane, once she starts nagging him, they'll fight, then he'll do whatever he wants and get punished later for it. He won't learn his lesson, so stay exactly as he was before.
Elijah Bell
>He "fell" for Akane because she was a cute girl whom he spent all his time
Thats your headcanon.
Ranma fall for Akane because she was the one girl that would not throw herself on him and actually bring him on the line. Other girl had their chance and even tried to seduce Ranma but it only freaked him out and he never able to open himself up to them.
>Ranma has never shared anything with Akane unless circumstances arise that he HAS to talk to her about stuff
And it was her that he could talk too.
>she has to drag the information out of him.
Because he always tried underhanded tactics
>Akane is no more Ranma's moral compass than Shampoo is Mousse's
Shampoo had no morality to serve as a moral compass. Mousse had more morality than Shampoo had.
Grayson Brown
That Shampoo
Akane was the most selfless and kind girl beside Kasumi on Ranma 1/2.
Eli Brooks
Not quite.
Generally, Ranma is a pretty pleasant fellow as long as his self-esteem/ego aren't being directly challenged, which the series goes well out of it's way to do.
In this series, the question is how far is Insert Character willing to go to get what they want, and Ranma is one of the few that won't resort to poisons, magics or murder to do it.
Stealing("Borrowing"), is something he wouldn't mind if it meant removing his curse though.
Leo Sanchez
>Shampoo at least genuinely loves Ranma, despite her warped ways of showing it.
What exactly makes her any better than Kodachi with all of the poisons and magical bullshit she'll try to force on Ranma?
SHIT, she went up to "fight" Pantyhose Taro for the sole purpose of trying to kill Akane.
What a great character she is.
Xavier Edwards
You Knights of the True Fiancee really do tend to be idiots, don't you? No, Akane is NOT some perfect little misunderstood angel. She is not Satan in the form of a schoolgirl, but she is NOT a nice character, either.
Get some new arguments already. You're just repeating the same garbage at this point.
Lincoln Wood
Hell, even magic isn't off Ranma's list, as mentioned up thread; see feeding Shampoo the hypnotic command dumplings, trying to use a Flower of Womanhood on Akane, abusing Joketsuzoku "Weakling Protection Gear", and trying to brainwash Ryoga into loving Akari.
Michael Morales
And XX chromasomes.
Jaxson Long
The only character you got right on there is Dr. Tofu.
I mean, I like Akane, but even at her best, she manages to ruin the most basic of cooking recipes and cannot swim no matter what.
She can be just as stubborn as Ranma.
Adrian Peterson
>see feeding Shampoo the hypnotic command dumplings,
To be fair, Ranma gave her the command of "go home safely", because she wouldn't leave and that was only after she had already tried to get him to hug her on command, and screwed it up.
Christian Gray
I guess we're doing this now, but it takes two to tango so...
>In fact she was shown to be friendly and kind toward most people. She is hard on Ranma because of his large ego and sexual harassment toward her.
Akane is typically pretty kind with most people other than Ranma, but we're talking about her in relation to Ranma. I can't think of any time where Ranma sexually harassed Akane. He's done plenty of stupid things like showing up in the girls locker room to get to the spring, or sneaking into her room to get Ryoga out of it, but I don't think Ranma's ever done anything to Akane sexually with intent to harm. The only thing I can think of is him accidentally looking up her dress and commenting on her panties during the Kuno stuff early on. Over time, once she learns what kind of person he is, she should trust him more. She comments to herself several times on how some things he's done were just misunderstandings, but Akane's temper is 0-100, and Ranma get's the it the worse. I'm not saying Ranma is innocent all of the time. He some of his offhand comments and observations can make the situation worse, but she never takes in his intent during these moments.
>There are reason why Ryuga and many other character fall for Akane's kindness.
Yeah, becuase she's a different person around them.
>Except she tries to improve herself but its not easy when you are around people like Ranma, Hapusai and her father/ future father-in-law.
Improve herself how? Also, Akane barely interacts with Genma in the series, though she does have a low opinion of him.
>Pretty much every character yell and hit each other on Ranma 1/2 except Kasumi. At least Akane has reasonable reason for lashing out on anybody.
Disapproprite retribution. She could talk things out calmly, but never does. It's funny for what it is, but if I'm looking at this seriously, she's a bad person. I don't like her.
Aiden Brown
Austin Cox
My man
Charles Cook
Shampoo is better
Leo White
I always thought the anime did Akane dirty. She was much more likable and less exaggerated in the manga.
Wyatt Wilson
Mason Adams
Angel Martinez
Brody Thompson
Having read the manga and then watched the anime, I disagree. The anime actually takes OUT some of Akane's worst moments from the manga, like continuing to treat Ranma like a potential rapist at the end of the hypnotic mushrooms story, or accusing Ranma of trying to rape Hinako.
Asher Anderson
>I can't think of any time where Ranma sexually harassed Akane. He's done plenty of stupid things like showing up in the girls locker room to get to the spring, or sneaking into her room to get Ryoga out of it, but I don't think Ranma's ever done anything to Akane sexually with intent to harm.
That doesn't make it NOT sexual harrassment.
While true, she should have a better opinion of him, than thinking that he's into collecting panties like Happosai, did he REALLY need to get into the girl's lockerroom that badly, that he couldn't just wait until school was over and sneak inside when no one would be around?
That's just the thing about Ranma 1/2. There's a certain amount of logic and common sense that you pretty much have to ignore, because the series is focused on being funny and keeping the dynamic going. If the characters talked their problems out, stopped looking for easy solutions to their problems, and fucked off when they were told to, there wouldn't be a story, there wouldn't be a cast.
Alexander Russell
Is it blasphemy to say that the anime, and especially the OVAs and movies, designs are better than the manga's?
Andrew Fisher
Christopher Barnes
no
Leo Martin
I know. That's what makes it funny. I like these characters and their place in the story, and I like these scenarios that could have been avoided had people thought five seconds longer. But if people just said, "It's a joke bro, you're taking things too seriously", there wouldn't be any conversation either.
Jace Flores
Jaxson Rogers
