Look at Jotaro and Joseph and then look at Jonathan in terms of performance, behavior, determination, etc.

I genuinely believe that no other Jojo could have gone 1 on 1 against Vampire Dio without any powers like Jonathan did when Dio first turned at the Joestar Mansion. Jonathan and Dio in a lot of ways are on another level compared to most of the rest of the main characters and villains.

Jonathan and Dio are almost like the deities of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and part 1 is the creation myth that gets the ball rolling. In a series full of quirk-filled and bizarre characters there's these two larger than life figures whose clash is the reason everything else is happening now.
There's even a lot of religious imagery surrounding the two characters.

It's only an asspull if it comes from out of nowhere. The entire goal during the final arc was to get the arrow before Diavolo did because it'd give them the power they need to win by its very nature. You could call it a stupid unnecessary plot device, but it's not an asspull.

Controlling souls is what requiem stands do in different ways, the same happened with silver chariot. the fact that it does not have anything to do with the original ability isnt an asspull and is explained.

I don't think GER explicitly controls time, it just undoes effects. And being able to create life is easily just as fantastical, plus Giorno only receives this with the stand arrow. Much better than Jotaro getting Star Platinum: The World out of nowhere or Josuke just constantly lucking out.

Funnily enough, Mista is also evil, I'd put him in either chaotic or neutral (probably neutral) because he gets in on the murdering but not really out of his moral set, and a few times he mentions being in it all for the money (probably the only character in the protag group of part 5 to say it bluntly). Mista really doesn't come off as evil but literally all he does is murder and beat up people.

Jotaro is so strong and cool that he can just make up new powers as the plot demands it, and he's strong and silent and every girl wants his dick.
Every girl wants Josuke's dick, and he's presented as morally infallible and selfless despite his get-rich-quick schemes while a serial killer is on the lose.
Giorno's so special that he's the son of the OG Jojo and OG villain. His stand can basically do whatever the fuck it wants, to a greater extent than even Jotaro, he's so cool and inspirational that Bruno's gang, who've been with Bruno for years, consider him to be the true leader, and his requiem stand doesn't just abandon him immediately like Polnareff's.
Jolyne is a capable female character, which threatens my fragile masculinity.
Johnny is literally fucking chosen by Jesus to save the world and masters the art of the spin, which Gyro had been training in his whole life, in just a couple of weeks.
