because I GOTTA FIND WHO KILLED MY DAD

I HEAR THE VOICE OF YOU IN MY MIND

He was her own family and a way for her to find meaning, purpose, and somewhere to belong in life

her purpose in life was to walk around half-naked all the time wit her tits flopping around

>He was her own family
Technically, yes.
>a way for her to find meaning, purpose, and somewhere to belong in life
And she needed to almost die several times to feel that?

Life isn't easy, what did you even mean by this?

it's not like she had anything better to do

she was about to graduate but some asshole destroyed her house
do you know how expensive is rent in tokyo

I mean there are inumerous amounts of ways to find meaning in life that DON’T involve any of the things she had to do.

Yes but that wouldn't be fun or make for a unique and interesting story.

Because she was robbed of the opportunity to connect with him and to find the answers to all her questions, the fact her father got mudered means all of the things she wanted to sort out with him would go unresolved forever and that alone is enough to push one over the edge.

This makes sense

t..that's your question? Seriously?

Admittedly “you killed my father” is usually a boring and undeveloped device to create a conflict. But I think the actual results here more than compensated for it.

Seeing your father killed with a half a giant scissor by a psychotic loli is a hell of a drug.

Deep down she's a good person, even though she buries it due to being in emotional pain.

Senketsu sort of forced her to find her answers. she hated the thing for the first bit of the series, but it’s link to her father kept her going
and this

They literally explained why in ep8

Anime trope
Protagonist is an orphan that needs to avenge their family

Either that or they abandon their earth family for their space family or for their magical world past life family

Why all the japanese gang symbolism?

Delinquents are cool.

>Senketsu sort of forced her to find her answers. she hated the thing for the first bit of the series, but it’s link to her father kept her going

That's the literal opposite of what happened, the whole reason why she connected with Senketsu in the first place is because he was in her exact same position. He didn't know anything about why he was built or what was going on and wanted to know the truth, so she sympathized with him and wanted to find the truth together. And when they finally find the truth and it turns out to be hugely dissatisfying it's that bond that lets her overcome that fact, wearing Senketsu was motivation enough.
